Pajamas in Shanghai.

"Once that relaxation of the dress code became acceptable (starting around the 1980s) the perimeter for p.j.-wear just kept expanding until many people were wearing them day in day out."

Surprising photos at the link. (Via Kottke.)

My dog wore PJs around the yard for a while pic

The idea was to prevent licking a surgical wound.

She also eats PJs, however, if it means getting to a surgical wound for licking, so plan b and finally plan c were necessary.

Plan b involved a lot of banging into furniture.

In the meantime, PJs mean that you can blend in with the chickens.

Do boxer shorts count as pajamas?

Sure, to the Western eye this style of clothing says "pajamas" (clothes to be worn to bed). But it seems to me that to the Chinese eye this style just might seem like a casual, funky and modern take on an ancient Chinese clothing style they had for centuries.

Hey I am having a special on "Bed Head" pj's which are great for lounging around with your fella on Memorial day. Don't sweat the sweats and wear a cozy pair of beautiful pj's.

Now back to your regularly scheduled political invective.

Bed Head's a good brand, in my experience.

Wasn't there a trend of girls wearing PJs on campuses a few years back?
