Beautiful flowers. Here in the desert southwest the Palo Verder are getting ready to explode in yellow, the orange blossoms permeate the air, and the honeysuckle bring out the bees and hummingbirds.
Spring rocks, unless you are in the midwest looking at storms and rain.
You must take some time out at the Japanese cherry blossom festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. The walk around the Botanical Gardens is great and the cherry blossoms would be a great photo op especially in the Japanese garden area. And you are sure to run into wedding parties as they are always there at this time of year.
Okay, it's a Spring-Off. Cruising out to the back yard to see what I can find,
a bud of some kind of honeysuckle. It was supposed to be a snowberry but the mail order nursery screwed up. Thanks, Mellingers. The thing is huge and now stirring. Lots of berries will appear when the birds are already rolling in berries and don't need them, except last year the flowers all got frozen out by an early warm snap followed by seasonal deep freeze and there were no berries on anything.
Spring-Off con't And here's a one-minute real audio of spring sounds just now, featuring in order of appearance Grackle, Train (Nathan Five-Chime, ten miles distant), Rooster and Cardinal.

Yes, I definitely will. Probably, very early stage right now.
I used to live over near there — for a couple years in the early 80s — and we went to the gardens a lot. Enjoyed the Japanese cultural events at cherry blossom time.
Great. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are a treasure that many people in New York have no idea about. It is more accessible than the Bronx and the Prospect Park zoo right next store is a lot of fun for the kids. Now is a great time to go when you can beat the crowds and get that first whiff of spring.
With the right handbag, you could carry a pair of snippers, and use the bag to surreptitiously carry home a few decorative sprigs.
I never understood my mum's horror when I presented her with purdy flowers I ripped from neighborhood gardens. I assumed God put 'em everything there for people to take. Her explanation didn't compute.

And a Robin fluttered by.
Vicki was suggesting somebody throw the Kong for her, which isn't specifically Spring I guess. Loose the Dogs of Spring.
She has honey on a leg wound that she isn't supposed to lick. It's too early for flies, fortunately.

Love that train whistle, RHH.

Aspiring In Spring
Reaching for the sun --
What frail strength
Has every new thing
Reaching to get some.
