The first pic looks like it ought to have a cameo in the next "Austin Powers" movie. Or like it already had one in the second.

Yeah, it belongs in this contest.

Oh God, my poor eyes...LOL... The last, ahem, "entry" in that contest was so absolutely preposterous (if hilarious) that I had to google "Brazilian Institute for Oriental Studies" just to believe it might actually exist, and the top result is... So I think that one should be disqualified on grounds that it can't be confirmed to exist.

I get traffic every day from that old post. It links to the contest.

Well I was about to comment about the same thing and it seems like everyone beat me to it. I was less witty than I thought.

It's amazing what pulls in the traffic. IIRC Concurring Opinions has a long running in joke about getting a whole bunch of traffic about Jennifer Aniston.

DTL - don't you believe it. :p

1. "Speedo Grey Sport Support".
You are going to have to take down that ad. I'm offended.

2. No post about Friday the 13th ?

Peace, Maxine

South Congress.

My second association for the motel sign was an upraised middle digit, as featured on certain modified mudflap silhouettes...

One of my co-workers reports that he has historically had many more problems with Thursday the 12th than Friday the 13th. Sure enough, somebody applied 30 volts to an 18 volt MOV Thursday afternoon. Wish I'd seen it (the stream of smoke was said to be quite impressive), but I could smell it all day.

Thanks so much for the Austin pictures, Ann. I left Austin in 2001 and miss it a little every day.
