I run into the law school to pick up some exams and leave, through the stairwell with the pingpong table, out the door, into the 40° drizzle, and -- oh, lilacs!
I love jasmine, gardenias, sweet olive and magnolias. I love having warm weather up through December, and something blooming and greening all year around.
But I also miss seasons sometimes, and having lived in the midwest for a few years, I miss lilacs, and other flowers that do well up North. This made me nostalgic. It's the second time lilacs have come up in conversation this week; I find myself wanting to watch spring happening somewhere.
One of the first things we did after buying our house was to plant a lilac bush in the backyard. I keep hoping it will eventually bloom, but i fear that our yard doesn't get enough sun for it. I am so glad that some of my neighbors hve them. I love lilacs.

If for nothing but those lilacs, the next version of YouTube needs to include YouSniff.
