Iraq's National Assembly reverses its bizarre interpretation of the referendum rules.

Good news.

Good, but also pretty well fore-ordained - even withot any "pressure" from th US and others.

It was "passed" by a small group who obviously waited until the great majority were not present. And it was defended as not being a change, only a "clarification", not requiring even a quorum.

Those who perpetrated this stupidity will be lucky if they are not formally censured - and their names are sure to become widely known, and vilified.
