Quick thing on Bari Weiss: She's not a real journalist, she doesn't have real political convictions, she's a pick me girl for rich older conservatives. You know..."My daughter who barely speaks to me since I left her mom says I'm a caveman for voting for Trump, but Bari understands me...And she's a hip young lesbian. She knows I'm a thoughtful thinker with serious thoughts about free speech, not a doddering asshole like my estranged daughter says."
Bari focuses on being Jewish and a lesbian a lot right now but it's just an angle she's playing. She doesn't care about other lesbians or other Jewish people. She's a JD Vance super fan!
Obsessed with identity politics is no way to live. We live among real people who are individuals. Dropping them into your labeled bucket robs you of wisdom, and robs them of dignity.

You jes’ gotta learn how to speak Prog: The Somalis did build today’s Minneapolis by fundamentally transforming it into the vibrant, diverse 3rd world city it is today.
Actually, BLM did a lot of the work in the beginning. But BLM is persona non grata today, so they don’t get a shout out.
Quick thing on Bari Weiss: She's trying to make people watch CBS "News" again. Remember, this is the network of Dan "I Type Up Fake Tang Memos" Rather. Literally manufactured obviously faked memos (this was before AI) to rig our Presidential election.

Your fellow shoppers and especially the harried delivery people thank you...
(Think before you order, people? If you open it and try it out, and just later decide you paid too much and it's just not your thing, after the moment has passed, YOU eat the cost. That will make you more careful with the fine details the next time you order, no? NOTE: this does not apply if the product does not come as ordered, or if you open the outer packaging and realize it is not what you want BEFORE you use it... Please stop over-ordering and cheaply returning your perfectly fine, but now used products* human beings have rushed to deliver to you to meet your ever-growing materialistic dreams??)
* That's what garage sales are for, where you recoup some of your losses when your "I wants" are greedier than your pocketbook can afford... Imagine if we ALL gamed the system like that!
Ok, sorry to kill your peppermint buzz, Larry. This is clearly not about you, I just needed to get that pet peeve off my chest.... thank you and don't get me started about people who late order then complain if the very-human delivery people don't get you what your heart desires immediately after you order.
That is not what Christmas is about, people: exploiting the loopholes in the consumer market and thinking yourself clever, much less entitled. We're all in this together, right... right??
I think the Somalis need to start doing land acknowledgments praising the original Scandinavians who built a safe prosperous city for them to take over.
bagoh20 said... A.I. says: " Even though hunting laws give you the right to kill coyotes, the legal standards for self-defense may require more justification. There may be an expectation to prove that non-lethal options were not viable."
Not sure what your search questions was. I usually try multiple, more precise search questions after anomalous answers. What I've found is AI sometimes seems to assemble answers from entirely different data sources and contexts, especially in answer to compound questions.
For example, it may be taking "self-defense" independently from shooting coyotes and applying the human standard. Or assuming shooting coyotes for self-defense in a residential area (versus hunting area). It may even be reading coyote as a human trafficker.
(Yeah, I interpreted this as an open thread, not just a place to discuss Larry's choice of tea... Do they have anise flavored?, to keep things on topic.)
You folks know Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino was originally set in Minneapolis, not Detroit, right?
Moral of the story: if you wealthy white folk move to the wealthy suburbs, you cede the city to the latest legal immigrants, be they Hmong or Somalis or true African-Americans.
Definitely doesn't justify fraud -- you should have a system of "checks" in place to prevent others from taking advantage and being led into temptations* -- but let's not pretend anybody "took over" the city. They just got pushed into the low-cost, often rundown city housing when they legally got placed here after American military intervention into the Somali civil war failed under Clinton, and well-meaning but naive religious groups brought them from the refugees camps to work here...
No lie, Barron, Wisconsin has a growing population after Mrs. Jerome of the Turkey Store realized people good with machetes would be good stripping turkeys of their skins and unwanted parts, when not enough American workers could be found to work in their turkey-processing plant... (she was religious and wealthy, so in they came.... big populations in the schools now, and their kids/grandkids are smart and competitive too. Immigrants hungry for success and all that... they're here to stay, sorry to disappoint folks. Go after the criminals, not the ethnicity?)
Doing the jobs Americans won't. legal immigration 101. Same as it ever was. If you can hunt and... field dress dozens of coyotes, you can strip dead turkeys, gentlemen. Work with your hands, yes you can... ‐------- * Did you know Minnesota has a law that you can't leave your keys in the ignition in a running car when you pop into a store, or have it warming up in wintertime because it's considered a temptation/attractive nuisance? Cops just got tired of responding to so many stolen, and dumped cars when poor people without transportation hopped in in the bitter cold, and took it where they needed to go. It's a poor people thing, not immigrants pulling that...
The story about sex and Ozempic got me thinking about another unintended consequence of these weight-loss drugs. It would seem that women who’ve lost significant weight on Ozempic couldn’t donate their old plus-size clothes to thrift stores fast enough. We’re talking about a flood of high-quality, larger-size items hitting the market. What a dilemma for overweight women: jump on the Ozempic bandwagon themselves, or snag a great wardrobe for pennies on the dollar? I’m kidding about the second part - but the first point is supported by reports from thrift stores across the country. It also appears that people who’ve shed pounds with these drugs are shopping with renewed enthusiasm (and perhaps extra energy too). Bottom line: How much of the “surprising” growth in Q4 GDP - or the economy overall in 2024 - can be attributed to the usage of these new weight-loss drugs?
Get something straight ladies: Ozempic will get all those cheeseburgers off your fat asses ... but will leave you with a bunch of baggy skin that makes you look so gross we are never going to ever touch you again.
You're a disgusting lot. Get yourselves sorted properly.
Downtown Minneapolis wasn't always so wonderful. Back in the 1960s there was a vast urban renewal project along the Washington Avenue and Gateway District skid row. And the Democrats, or should I say the DFL, have been running the place forever.
"Not an oldster" slanders Meade and completely misunderstands the incredibly successful Amazon business model, which has now been adopted by Walmart and virtually every large clothing retailer.

I tried several times to figure out whether our local county landfill transfer station (which is generally open for residential loads on Saturday mornings 8-12) was open today. AI gave me multiple answers, including that the landfill was "...closed for Christmas and the day after Christmas, December 26, so it is closed today, December 27, which is within the holiday period," and that the landfill is only open on the first Saturday each month (which is not true). In fairness to AI, I wasn't able to find the answer by going to the county website, either. So I will wait until Monday. But AI doesn't always make much sense. I never rely on it's answers--always check the source.
There was a system of "checks." The Democratic machine--of which Tim Walz was the leader--ignored the obvious fraud that the "checks" were flashing in their faces. The Biden Administration seems to have played along. When one particular community is receiving grossly disproportionate "benefits" for their population size, that's a massive red flag.
Here on the western fringes of Las Vegas my next door neighbor was a widow lady who would go for long walks with her well-behaved shih tzu. She would pack heat, in case a coyote came down from the hills and tried for her dog. She had been an officer in the Army, so I imagine she knew how to shoot. It's illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits, but she figured that when the chips were down she could get away with it.
If some journo or youtuber did a Mirage Tavern op today, they'd be locked up for every fraud statute in the book, and probably a few privacy-violation statutes as well. Maybe, maybe if Trump saw the footage he might order Bondi and the USAO to do something with the footage. Maybe. CC, JSM
"closed for Christmas and the day after Christmas, December 26, so it is closed today, December 27,"
I seen this multiple times in AI searches; a result which any sentient being would reject as nonsensical. But AI is incapable of recognizing its own errors. It has, after all, produced what it calculated was the most probable result. How can it then conclude that it is wrong?
coyotes like wolves may be intelligent animals but they aren't cuddly animals, just like the unwarranted love shown to black bears, by the usual suspects down here,

Not good enough.
If Vance decides he is going to have a flacid DOJ like this I am voting for anyone else in 2028.
There is no world where Walz is not in jail right now being squeezed. There is more than probable cause here. Ilhan Omar has millions in the bank. Why is she not arrested? They have the receipts.
Conservatives have been arrested for so much less than what they have on Tim Walz. This DOJ is a joke. They do not want to prosecute fraud. They had to have their arms twisted to release the Epstein files. AIPAC still owns congress. How is this legal? They just don't give a shit about the people or the law.
I will be interested to see if Dan Bongino still has a soul.
I don’t get it when people say that Bari Weiss is not a journalist. Of course she is. How do you define journalism? Have you read any of her articles at the Free Press.
I thought she was a smart choice to head CBS. But it clearly is too early to tell.
can we be grown ups or pretend, you see how the possums prevented habba and halligan from securing convictions, you see how 'maryland man,' is 'the man who wouldn't leave' same for Effendi Khalil because of the Foreign Office or their Syrian counterpart
we have to dot every i cross every t and still there is some paid off myrmidon who blocks the matter, sometimes all the way up to the Supreme Court
as we saw this week with the National Guard, same with the Guard deployment, they have unlimited time and unlimited personnel, the ngo archipelago, we have to snip every tripwire sometimes several times,
Incidentally, I asked Grok the same coyote question, and it had the obvious correct answer that evaded Duck.ai.
Grok: "Shooting one in self-defense while already out legally hunting them aligns with state wildlife regulations, as the act falls under permissible taking of unprotected mammals."
I have no intention of shooting any coyote unless I have too. I see them all the time while out hiking, and my dog is not big enough to defend herself. I just wondered if that would get me in trouble. It clearly depends on where you are.
There's lots of other stuff you can do besides shoot them: run into the fake cave painted into the rock wall; look at the Acme Time Bomb then walk away; run between two cliffs in midair; etc. CC, JSM
The problem with the fraud in Minnesota is that it doesn't have a pithy catchy name. People can't get exited about a nameless, faceless scandal in Somalia. A nick name could (maybe) strip it off it's racial overtones.

This is your problem. You people accept this bullshit. Those judges were traitors too and they should have been impeached by now and thrown in jail. Judges don't just get to make things up.
Unless they are democrats of course. Republicans tried to throw Trump in jail in Georgia. The Desantis supporters all supported the effort to throw Trump in jail for disputing the Georgia election. They blamed Trump and MAGA for losing the Georgia senate seats. And now we find out there were 315000 explicitly illegal votes.
Kemp and Raffesburger belong in jail too. And that gets to the hart of the issue. It is Republicans like Bondi and Raffesburger and the McCainites in Arizona that are the real problem here.
Republicans are betraying their voters just like they always do.
Re Bari Weis, I used to watch Bloomberg every weekday morning, they had three hosts and while they were not MAGA, they did listen to and discuss both sides of issues Trump related. Then in 2022, they replaced one with a lady who relentlessly pushed Biden’s side of every issue, and the two that were left had their wings clipped.
So basically Democrats are doing S.O.P., accusing people of the stuff they are guilty of themselves.
Lem: "The problem with the fraud in Minnesota is that it doesn't have a pithy catchy name."
Somaliscam? Somaligate? Moga-Scam or -Gate? Skinnyscam? Operation Horn of Minnesota? Moga-Street-Pew? Somali Invisikids? Jihadi Nice? Twin Spouses? Cuntland? Black Fraud Down? The Revenge of Gordon and Shugart? Skinny Betta Have Mah Money? I Got No Snack Bar (say it aloud)? CC, JSM
yes, and they probably covered their tracks, although jazz hands might have been sloppy,
the difference with the dems was when they were hanging by four seats, they let the tail wag the dog, so they gave in to every crazy wish of v'ger and the barmaid, the possums don't think that way,
Best part of Operation I Got No Snack Bar is Leavitt can say it in the press room, and a few newsies will spring to their feet and say the real thing in reflexive response. Like the Benny Hill "I'm Littler!" sketch. Then those august members of the press can be carted off to Gitmo. CC, JSM

Just don't be one of those people who insists on returning it when you decide: eh, you weren't in the mood for peppermint after all and changed your mind well after enjoying it, k?

A.I. says: " Even though hunting laws give you the right to kill coyotes, the legal standards for self-defense may require more justification.

I guess Moe and Curly couldn't make it, huh?

* Did you know Minnesota has a law that you can't leave your keys in the ignition in a running car when you pop into a store, or have it warming up in wintertime because it's considered a temptation/attractive nuisance? Cops just got tired of responding to so many stolen, and dumped cars when poor people without transportation hopped in in the bitter cold, and took it where they needed to go. It's a poor people thing, not immigrants pulling that...
People take advantage.
Human nature 101.
I like my tea with lemon and honey. I’m a gonna get me some right now. Who’s with me?
Get something straight ladies: Ozempic will get all those cheeseburgers off your fat asses ... but will leave you with a bunch of baggy skin that makes you look so gross we are never going to ever touch you again.
You're a disgusting lot. Get yourselves sorted properly.
Downtown Minneapolis wasn't always so wonderful. Back in the 1960s there was a vast urban renewal project along the Washington Avenue and Gateway District skid row. And the Democrats, or should I say the DFL, have been running the place forever.

How can it then conclude that it is wrong?
coyotes like wolves may be intelligent animals but they aren't cuddly animals, just like the unwarranted love shown to black bears, by the usual suspects down here,
"When one particular community is receiving grossly disproportionate "benefits" for their population size, that's a massive red flag."
Red flags are for those who are trying to identify fraud. For the fraudsters, they're something to bury.

I wouldn't be so hard on Bondi. (1) obviously no work was done on this 2021-2024. So you are expecting a complex fraud case to go from zero to dudes in cuffs in 11 months. Doesn't really happen. (2) Took a while (October 2025) to get a Trump US Atty confirmed. (3) God knows what's been going on since the inauguration in the FBI office or OIG of any agency that ultimately supplies the money for these programs. (4) Biden burrowers in the USAO, FBI, &c, have been applying friction. (5) Even if every federal employee in the state had been immediately enthusiastic on Jan 20 to lock up the Skinnies, it's not the only case in town, and many of those feds have been shuttling all over the country on the immigration and street crime initiatives.

Exactly.
the powers that be, don't want it to trend, thats the problem,
Re Bari Weis, I used to watch Bloomberg every weekday morning, they had three hosts and while they were not MAGA, they did listen to and discuss both sides of issues Trump related. Then in 2022, they replaced one with a lady who relentlessly pushed Biden’s side of every issue, and the two that were left had their wings clipped.
So basically Democrats are doing S.O.P., accusing people of the stuff they are guilty of themselves.
