"I'm a stickler for staying in your lane. I think his lane is the Ezra-lane..."

"... and I don't see him crossing a line. I'm assuming the New York Times is cool with it."

Said Jill Abramson, former executive editor, of the NYT, quoted in "How Ezra Klein's power play is guiding Democrats" (Axios), which tells us that "Klein's columnist-turned-operative role is raising concerns inside the Times and the Democratic Party, people familiar with the matter tell Axios."

’Some Democratic officials advising potential presidential candidates are worried about Klein's influence with party elites at a time when the party is trying to win back working-class votes, having suffered from being cast as too elite and coastal.’

I’ve listened to a few of his podcasts and the assessment of too elite and coastal is fair. But, who do the Dems have that can speak to, or sincerely empathize with, middle America?

The Dems will lead into that left hook with Gavin as their pony.

For those who have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Abramson, a random youtube search with her name will serve up her astounding Upper-West-Side meets Valley-Girl meets Boomer-attempting-to-pass-as-Millennial vocal-fry stylings.

I am all for the Ezra Kleins of this world steering the Democrat truck--off the end of the bridge and into the water.

they have LOTS!
there's
There's Joe Manchin, from West Virginia..
Kristin Sinamax from Arizona..
Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii..
John Fetterman from Pennsylvania..

Heck! There's Presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump

There are a LOT of members of the Democrat Party that could speak to middle America..
I have NO IDEA why they don't use the ones i've mentioned

at a time when the party is trying to win back working-class votes

The progressive podcasting- and opinion-writing-classes see themselves separate from, and well-above, those lesser people they deem "working class".

These people do, however, look up to the shutting-down-the-government-class, the spending-trillions-without-accountability-class, the I'm-running-a-global-nonprofit-class, and the I'll-leave-my-Senate-seat-when-I'm-dead-class.

If they're "raising concerns" why aren't "some" putting their names to it? Is Ezra so powerful, that only anonymous criticism is safe? LOL

Jill Abramson has a long track record of being dishonest and a a partisan hack. Remember her lies about Clarence Thomas?

Some are concerned about Abramson being treated as an authority figure whose opinion is worth knowing.

columnist-turned-operative role

Maybe it would be easier if you told us which columnist isn't an operative for the Ds.

Last week in Mexico City, President Sheinbaum told a crowd, members of her cabinet, military leaders, and local representatives from the state of Michoacán that, along with additional troops, the federal government will offer technology and $3 billion to combat the cartel.

As my old Vietnam vet co-worker used to say, “Fuckin’ A Tweet Tweet!”

Basically a week’s revenue for the cartel. EBITDA and all that, but I think their margins are pretty decent.

After watching Ezra Klein speak for roughly 2 minutes, the phrase “power play” and the name Ezra Klein do not belong in the same sentence.

Politics with Democrats has become like a handicap golf tournament- the way your nanna can beat Nelly Korda. Thumb on the scale equalizing all the treasury money, msm bias…the gerrymandering. Now that the Supreme’s are poised to determine discriminating on the basis of race is racial discrimination media and pols seem so be desperately searching for a way to keep Dems in the game…somehow…

As if he hasn't always been an operative.
