"Unfazed by rats..."

My son Chris reads books about Presidents and sends me the occasional snapshot. That's the latest.

AND: Who was Clover Adams? Wikipedia:
Clover, who has been cited as the inspiration for writer Henry James's Daisy Miller (1878) and The Portrait of a Lady (1881), was married to writer Henry Adams. After her suicide, he commissioned the famous Adams Memorial, which features an enigmatic androgynous bronze sculpture by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, to stand at the site of her, and his, grave.

Not snobbish enough to refrain from suicide — or can suicide be snobbish?! In any case, what a grave" —

The rats were domesticated and became what’s known as the Democrat Party.

And that’s teh rest of the story. Good day!

There is a copy of the statue near the White House in the courtyard of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

She was the inspiration for Isabel Archer? That makes sense. Only in the book she has to suck it up and live with their choices.

"Drinking the hemlock" would be the snobbish suicide.

When visiting old industrial cities in America, take time to wander around the original garden cemeteries, burial sites of the nouveau riche captains of industry from the 1880-1920s. Some absolutely stunning burial monuments such as Henry James'.

Grok is lying again. I won’t use snap traps in my house because too many times I’ve found a not yet dead, shrieking little mouse with its back broken caught in the trap. I have to kill the little thing myself because I was brought up not to let animals suffer. Lonejustice, on the other hand …

That's Black Aggie. It was a copy of the Adams Memorial that once stood in a cemetery in Baltimore that was cast after Saint-Gaudens' death. A lot of local legends grew up around the statue; grass would not grow in its shadow, statue would become animated at midnight, etc. It caused such a problem with breaking into the cemetery at night that the family donated to the Smithsonian.

Wikipedia tells me the J. D. in Vance’s name stands for ‘James David’, not ‘Jefferson Davis’, which shows that Kakistocracy is a bit of a coprophagic swine.

Well trump purpose well served. trump knows that this case doesnt have a chance in court and wouldn't be surprised if it is chucked by the judge. What is validated is that the trumpers believe it is just peachy to call out to the AG to indict his enemies.(see the text he said night before PAM indicted Comey) Great question at hearing yesterday, questioner reads the text from trump "PAM" there has been nothing done to L James, Comey, OR MY ENEMIES( PARAPHRASED) ETC.Questioner looks at Bondi and says" Thats you right Pam? mic drop...Magas/trumpers agree that personal revenge from a sitting president to his DOJ is perfectly fine(you know like in school "he hit me first" children)The precedent is now set and the DOJ should just hang their placard OUTSIDE OVL OFFICE Presidents law department. This will take less than 3 days if even at all.and the trump lawyers will take a beating, like cheesboro,Guilliani, the blonde lady all the ones lost ability to practice because of lies and bullcrap..MAGAS FOR revenge LETS GO North and South really never ended, just festered waiting for a trump GOT IT!! Just more look over here, swear the lady in Johnson , ets get this EPSTEIN VOTE, enough with your stall, God sees you...MY BI-POLAR juices rolling today!! :)

You can buy traps that are lids for 5 gallon buckets. They have a little stairway leading to the top of the bucket and a trap door. The nice thing about them is that they can trap many mice over the course of a night. Put water in the bucket if you prefer dead mice. They work REALLY well. I just put a few bread crumbs on the ladder and on the trap door. Havaharts are too finicky in my experience.

House mice must be moved a half mile or so so they at least return to somebody else's house.

I was at the Augustus Saint Gaudens National Historic Park in Cornish NH last week. Really worth the visit. Lots of examples of his sculptures and the grounds are lovely. Not far from the longest covered bridge in New England...you have to walk your horses or the fine is $2.
