Yes, adults are reckless and dimwitted about a lot of things, but the obvious one here is that teenagers, especially ones who seem hysterical, should not be put in the public spotlight. You might think your little girl is the new Greta Thunberg, but keep it to yourself. Don't push her out onto the stage to emote in the "How dare you!" mode.
And if the left wants some kind of "believe the science" high ground, don't keep sending children and teenagers out to lecture us.

She's had a research paper published. I found that while I was looking for a photo I'd seen of Violet and Jennifer. She was unmasked in 2022 for a White House dinner.
If I had insanely pretty parents, I might want to wear a mask to avoid unwanted comparisons. I'm not assuming that's the reason, but a possible contributory factor. Mask wearing seems to be more of a California thing, in my personal experience. I saw more mask wearers at San Diego Comic Con over just a few days than I've seen over several years at home (including mass gatherings such as music festivals).

I hate to break the science to her but masks can't filter airborne viruses. They can stop water droplets, which people sneeze and breathe out, which may conation viruses but those droplets fall to the ground within 3 or 4 feet hence the reason for six feet separation.
When we had the fires here in SoCal, people were warned that masks would not stop the particulate matter from the smoke. It was pointed out that the smoke particulates were larger than the viruses.

The most striking thing about the clip for me was how it reminded me of my mom telling my sister not to use her ears as barrettes. Doctors will tell you that, unless you have a compromised immune system or work in a hospital, it's actually unhealthy to wear a mask all the time. (And health professionals wear disposable masks to keep from infecting patients, not protect themselves from getting sick.) So this presentation was also anti-science.
And just thisk of all the ecological waste if we had to constantly manufacture and distribute disposable masks for the entire population of the planet!

The developing world has far more serious indoor air quality issues than stray viruses. Smog from automobiles, smoke from cooking or heating fires (often wood or coal) at the household level and also ambient, second-hand smoke from adults, etc. All of this is bad enough but it also decreases resistance to disease.
The young lady is pointed in the right direction but can't get out of her first-world privileged worldview to do anything really useful.
