I also don’t really give a shit Trump posts mean things. When there’s illegals empowered to kill by our injustice system, political assassins about to get off easy, left wing politicians immune from prosecution for their crimes…this is where we are? Whining about mean tweets?
I went in for a colonoscopy this morning. The pre-op nurse was asking me the normal healthcare questions prior to the colonoscopy. She asked if I had received the Covid vaccine *cough* shot. I said no.
I then asked the nurse if she got the shot. She grimaced and responded yes and then said she had, not one, but two heart attacks shortly thereafter. The nurse was physically fit in her mid-fifties.
I wonder if it was reported to VAERS ……… and then scrubbed.

IDK re the stuff the government pays for, iow gov sponsered media. But the media stuff that the mega maga government is now attacking, I can tell you that it is being stifled in some of the places I live.
Now you can tell me why that's no problem, or a good thing.
I'm sure a few here are familiar with emergency shutdown buttons- like for a boiler plant, heavy machinery, or let's say- an escalator.
Really tough to trigger them accidently. The ones on my last boiler plant simply needed to be pushed- and were surrounded by a metal ring that was above the button, so you had to press inside the ring. And they were mounted 7 foot off the floor...
Many have a 2 step- lift the cover- press the switch. Others hold a detent and flip the switch. So the photographer accidently tripping a shutdown really doesn't hold water. There are reasons why an emergency shutdown for an escalator should be protected against incidental touch. If you see a problem- and are cognizant of an emergency shutdown (TBH- most people aren't- or weren't...), the time to get to it will exceed the time it takes to press it with whatever process required. And the delay will be inconsequential. OTOH- accidently stopping a moving escalator full of people will almost certainly result in injuries.

Trump hands Milei $20bn lifeline in Argentine currency crisis ~ The Telegraph
Does Congress have no say in the things Trump plans to do to bail out Argentina's Milei?
"Washington was in talks to provide a $20bn swap line to Argentina and prepared to buy its dollar debt, vowing support for libertarian president Javier Milei in defeating “speculators”.
Libertarianism is when two states collaborate to defeat private actors in the market.
Milei's soul can be purchased for a lot less than $20 billion. Just look for the shiniest nickel in a sofa cushion.

Restricted? Stifled? By the government? Can you tell us more? I was not aware that the government was censoring at the present time. Or are you referring to the private network affiliates that have made a commercial decision to suspend a product they find offensive, and think their customers won't like? Is that not allowed, where you come from, when it comes to your preferences?
Douanier: "The government can't attack one out of 330 million re that person's speech."
Willfully obstuse. The government - using money it took from me and you at gunpoint - gave ABC that license. It can take it back.
Here's another analogy: the Army involuntarily separates soldiers all the time. Is it violating their 2nd Amendment rights? No, it's just taking away their taxpayer-funded government guns. They can stop by Walmart on their way home and buy all the guns they can afford.
Kimmel just got his taxpayer-funded soapbox pulled out from under him. He can go stand in beautiful Downtown Burbank and say whatever he wants. And in this day and age, he can set up a YouTube site for free and say whatever he wants. His freedom of speech was not affected. Just his privilege of government-funded amplification. CC, JSM

So using google it looks like in 2023 more than 380 folks were murdered every week. I said I had thought it was more than four hundred, though I didn't declare that, I was stating vibes. So it turns out that a bit below four hundred murders per week is closer to the norm. If folks in this thread are worried about folks that are murdered in a week in the US, why the don't they jabber about the many hundreds of murdered folks when there isn't a mega maga reason to give one second of thought re these hundreds of murdered people, each week?
I am pretty sure that Trump was being sarcastic in his comments on Ukraine yesterday.
"You guys are winning, go for it! Maybe even take part of Russia while you are at it! Why do you need my help? Don't negotiate! Good Luck!"
It goes with Anchorage, where Europe pressured him to try to "trick" Putin into accepting a ceasefire that would have amounted to a capitulation when Putin clearly has the upper hand, he got disgusted, I am thinking not with Putin, who was only playing his hand intelligently, but Europe, and their pipe dreams, and he said "forget it, he's not going for it."
Then the sanctions, where Europe was trying to pressure Trump into imposing "bone crushing sanctions" which would likely have led to a deep recession, Trump said "Sure, but you go first!" knowing that Europe would not, could not do it. They were just hoping that Trump would destroy the US economy and so lose big in the mid-terms, giving them a win-win. Except that Trump isn't stupid.
Now he meets with Zelensky for six or seven minutes in NYC, and after, he says "Sure! Go for it! Take back every square inch and then some! Don't negotiate!" My theory is that he is sick of these hare-brained schemes from Europe, their transparent efforts to manipulate him into doing what they want, with flattery, self abasement, etc, anything but a realistic plan.
Meanwhile Europe wants to drag the US into WW3 over a purported incursion by Russia into Estonian airspace. What "proof" did Estonia provide the Security Council? Pictures of a MiG flying in the sky and a paper map and their word. Then they freak out that Trump is not upset about it. It would make no sense for Russia to provoke NATO right now, the people who want to drag NATO into the war are the accusers, the accusers have everything to gain and the accused has nothing to gain from it. And the argument that Russia really did it will come down to "Russians are just evil, or stupid." All tried and true earmarks of a false flag.
Douanier: "why the don't they jabber about the many hundreds of murdered folks when there isn't a mega maga reason to give one second of thought re these hundreds of murdered people, each week?"
We do jabber about them, in the threads about the Trump anti-crime initiatives. Nothing is more mega-maga than putting troops on the streets to tamp down on crime. Give us some credit, Nazi! CC, JSM
"They can stop by Walmart on their way home and buy all the guns they can afford."
Hasn't Walmart been cutting back on the gun stuff they sell. Maybe starting after some mass shootings at their stores. Was it 2019? Are you sure all Walmart stores are ready to sell any guns to anyone at any time? I don't think that is correct.
The part that the Telegraph could discuss in more detail, are the holders of US denominated Argentinian debt, and how the US government actions affect them.
For example, it is said that Elliot Capital managenment bought this debt at 6 cents on the dollar and following the IMF and US's intervention sold at 75 cents on the dollar. You might say good for them, but the question is to what extent was and is US policy driven by the financial interests of a few NY based billionaires and donors?
In the latest round Bessent has no only given $20 billion to Argentina, but will also engage in buying those same dollar denominated Argentinian bonds. We can guess who they will be buying from
So, more simply, the public purse is being used to bail out private and very wealthy investors for risks they chose to take.

And these deadly blue cities are in red states. Probably states with loose gun laws. Which means the rest of the state can behave responsibly. But the city dwellers can’t. I wonder why that is? CC, JSM
But to get back to the topic Douanier was distracting us from, Dems do both high-profile but rare and small-casualty shootings, against their constant background him of more mundane shootings in their urban gerrymandered fortresses of shittitude. Looks like the Dems are the party of death. CC, JSM
Plead guilty to domestic terorrism too. Was supported by the violent Hamas campus astroturf org Columbia SJP. Not to mention the AAUP which loves leftwing violence and pedophile profs. Oh ans $50 says Inga has a poster of him on her bedroom wall and posts her romantasy slash about him on reddit...

Today was the debut of 107 Days by Kamala Harris. #1 on Amazon’s best seller list. Charlie Kirk has 5 books on Amazon’s top 100 best seller list plus a book he wrote a forward for.
Rusty said... In 2024 5873 people were murdered in the city of Chicago. The question leDouanier is; What are you doing about it? What is your solution? ***********
"There were 617 homicides and 2,450 shootings across Chicago throughout 2023, according to Chicago Police Department data, with both totals hitting their lowest levels since 2019. While homicides and shootings decreased, other crimes like robbery, theft and criminal sexual assault saw increases in 2023."
Here's another stat, which most of us will find unsurprising:
"In 2023, the disparity in homicide rates between Black and white [Chicago] residents decreased by 50% compared to 2021. Even with this reduction, the homicide rate for Black residents was 20 times higher than for white residents.
I suspect most here will scratch their heads wondering why le Douanier thinks he's making a point about endemic urban, predominantly black crime by asking why we don't mourn each victim as we did Charlie Kirk. Say what?
I, for one, feel relieved knowing that leftist terrorism isn’t a problem until they kill at least 380 people a week. Thanks for that wonderful bit of logic.
"I, for one, feel relieved knowing that leftist terrorism isn’t a problem until they kill at least 380 people a week. Thanks for that wonderful bit of logic"
Red herring alert.
All murder is bad. Don't pick and choose what murder is worth your jabber, and what murder never crosses your mind. IOW, as the mega maga folks tell us: All Lives Matter.
I have been pondering on the widely-quoted remark that "The US Constitution is not a suicide pact". While that would seem to be obvious, as a historical observation, it appears that the Left hopes we will believe that it is a suicide pact, and it requires us to stand by and watch helplessly while they seize our country, our property and our children, because we have somehow agreed that the things they do are things that must be allowed to be done.
Will tell us details re the other more than four hundred people that were murdered during this same week?
First show me anyone publicly celebrating any of their deaths as a political victory and wishing for more of the same, and then we can have that conversation.
Actually, the things they do are things that must not be allowed to be done, and if Pam Bondi is squishy-soft (which has been evident since the Trayvon Martin travesty), then she needs to be replaced by someone who will indict George Soros. And his little son too.
I have been pondering on the widely-quoted remark that "The US Constitution is not a suicide pact". Exactly.
The Constitution is a Contract. Contracts only protect people who abide by the contract.
The left has practiced censorship and is constantly trying to take our guns. They have clearly broken the contract on multiple occasions.
They do not deserve to live in a free country because they are constantly trying to take away the freedom of others.
@Beasts, aren’t grandkids wonderful? If you think this is good, wait until the tyke climbs onto your lap with a book to be read to her. This will happen months before she can say “Gwampa weed me book, pweez?”
I'm not at my Seattle house, or my Bainbridge house, or my Jefferson County house....but apparently if I was in those places I would be restricted from seeing Kimmel.
Buy your own fucking station and watch whatever you want.
Ceteris paribus, we are already close to an absolute majority of murder perpetrators and victims being Democrats by looking at black men only. When every other ethnicity is subjected to the same analysis, it seems plausible that the rate is at least 70% and probably significantly higher.
And how, exactly, does that connect to minge? I have a feeling that, stimulating though my life has been, it would have been more stimulating if I had been acquainted with Katie Hopkins.
So, more simply, the public purse is being used to bail out private and very wealthy investors for risks they chose to take.
Why should this be happening?
I agree with the Kakistophage. Snap a picture, quick.
We can wish Millei well and award him favorable trade terms and help him in myriad other ways, but I draw the line at giving our tax money to foreigners and thereby dropping a windfall of cash on Wall Street moneybags.
I don't want to shower our money on Third World shitholes that are in far more dire straits than Argentina, so I cannot in good conscience support this action.
Hassayamper, the statistics you cite are pretty much beside the point. The issue is not that lots of murderers are Democrats. I expect a fair number of murderers are, at least by their own assessment, Republicans. Nothing we can do about that. The issue is that the Democrats are determined to protect those murderers. And, indeed, criminals generally. The Democrat Party has somehow morphed from "Pay any price, bear any burden", to "It's not your lawn, it's mylawn!".
As usual, nothing Jaq writes about Ukraine in his 8:05pm comment is true. He always accuses me of getting my information from Ukrainian propaganda, but in fact the only propaganda I watch is Russian, and it's very informative if you read between the lines. Russian Media Monitor (Twitter feed is @JuliaDavisNews) has clips of Russia Today with subtitles, and audio so any Russian-speaker can check the translations. Lately, top propagandist Vladimir Solovyov is "utterly deflated by Trump's latest rhetoric, describing it as 'hurtful' and commiserating with the weatherman that Moscow's victory is still years away" (link). And here's propagandist Andrei Norkin insisting things are going well, while all his guests gang up on him to tell him the war is not going well (link). The YouTube videos are 4:00 and 8:28 minutes respectively. There are hundreds more, and tens of thousands of Tweets that allow a patient person to find out what's actually going on in Ukraine, which has no resemblance to anything Jaq writes.
I always understood "the Constitution is not a suicide pact" to mean that we as a nation are under no obligation to allow (e.g.) freedom of speech to those who would not allow it to us if they were in power. So (e.g.) banning Communists and Nazis from jobs in public schools should be not only permitted, but obligatory. (It's been less than 23 years since I had to sign a declaration that I was not a Communist to work in a public school in upstate New York. I was very surprised to be asked, but not at all reluctant to do so.)

Worst 5% of counties (urban, often Democratic) account for 73% of gun murders; total murders similar.

So, more simply, the public purse is being used to bail out private and very wealthy investors for risks they chose to take.
Why should this be happening?

In little over a week leftists have:
- Murdered Charlie Kirk
- Shot an ABC affiliate for not airing Kimmel
- Shot a wedding yelling Free Palestine
- Shot people at an ICE facility
- Had mass celebrations & celebrated Charlie’s murder in streets of NY

Highest in blue cities in red states. Blue cities. Dem mayors. Elected by Dem voters. Wow, you have completely dismantled my argument. I bow to your superior logic. CC, JSM
CC, JSM
Charlie Kirk - Please remember him.
The raft of ducks is a nice touch. How did you get them to pose so well?
In 2024 5873 people were murdered in the city of Chicago. The question leDouanier is; What are you doing about it? What is your solution?
More "mostly peaceful " leftism:

Plead guilty to domestic terorrism too. Was supported by the violent Hamas campus astroturf org Columbia SJP. Not to mention the AAUP which loves leftwing violence and pedophile profs. Oh ans $50 says Inga has a poster of him on her bedroom wall and posts her romantasy slash about him on reddit...
Although more appropriate for the previous post, I am proud to report that I’ve been blessed with a granddaughter this evening. But I’m a tough guy, so I’ve only cried six or seven times… :)
Today was the debut of 107 Days by Kamala Harris. #1 on Amazon’s best seller list.
Charlie Kirk has 5 books on Amazon’s top 100 best seller list plus a book he wrote a forward for.
Congrats Beasts.
Beasts - wow - cool. Congrats.

Not so.
https://news.wttw.com/2024/01/02/shootings-homicides-chicago-drop-13-2023-and-returned-pre-pandemic-levels-violence
Source: https://crimelab.uchicago.edu/resources/trend/
I suspect most here will scratch their heads wondering why le Douanier thinks he's making a point about endemic urban, predominantly black crime by asking why we don't mourn each victim as we did Charlie Kirk. Say what?

Can you even read?
I, for one, feel relieved knowing that leftist terrorism isn’t a problem until they kill at least 380 people a week. Thanks for that wonderful bit of logic.
Congrats Beasts! There’s nothing like the joy of being a proud grandfather!
@Narr You’re right! Thanks.

Red herring alert.
All murder is bad. Don't pick and choose what murder is worth your jabber, and what murder never crosses your mind. IOW, as the mega maga folks tell us: All Lives Matter.
Kimmel attracts more than 14 million viewers on YouTube and another 6 million on ABC broadcast stations.

On a separate issue, are we all on board with the existence of the word clunge?
Show your work. You made a statement. What data supports your statement?
56% of murders are committed by the 6% of the population who are black males, and their victims are around 90% black also.
Black men are 81% Democrat.

And gimme those keys!
