"While in [Justice] Kavanaugh’s neighborhood, Roske kept the gun, unloaded, in a locked box in the suitcase."

"When police searched the luggage, they also found 37 rounds of ammunition, according to earlier court filings, along with a tactical flashlight with a laser that could be mounted on the gun, a 'James Bond' lock pick set, a black face mask, a pair of 'hard-knuckled' tactical gloves, four black zip ties and hiking boots with padded soles affixed to their bottoms that police earlier said were for stealthy movement...."

From "Man accused in 2022 Kavanaugh assassination plot to plead guilty, lawyers say/Nicholas Roske, 29, was accused of flying from California and approaching Brett Kavanaugh’s Maryland home with a gun before turning himself in" (WaPo).

A quote from Roske: "I was under the delusion that I could make the world a better place by killing him."

Thomas Matthew Crooks: "Ditto..."

So in his plea, will he tell the court where and when and who helped put that delusion in his head? Schumer, perhaps?

Typical Leftist utopian vision of making "the world a better place."

Anything behind the paywall discussing this would-be assassin's Dem party connections, Leftist opinions and how he was radicalized by WaPo and MSNBC?

He plans to plead guilty to ''plotting', and that carries a life sentence?

... “At the time, Mr. Roske was acutely suicidal, visibly exhausted, and had repeatedly expressed his need for psychiatric care...”

I wonder who he had expressed these sentiments to, and when. I hope he has received the care, and continues to. It sounds like he advanced his plan, and then called it off himself, clearly unresolved, having gone most of the distance. And he intends to plead 'guilty', obviating the arguments over whether he was sufficiently compos mentis to make confessions that are admissible. He deserves a lot of credit - and consideration of mercy - for those aspects of character.

'delusion' as the operative out.

There is an asymmetry between making the world a better place through destruction of something you regard as bad, and making it a better place by building something better. It's analogous to the asymmetry between proving something false with one event contrary to the theory, and almost "proving" something true inductively with a million instances of events consistent with the theory.

You were delusional? Well that's different, you should have said from the beginning that you're a Democrat. Let him go.

When was the last time anything like this happened to a Democrat? George Wallace maybe?

Roske is just a typical leftist. They are tribalists and they have not grasped any of the concepts that make a representative form of government work.

They are zero sum and they are only concerned with power for the tribe. They will do anything to gain power and they have to be dishonest about what they want.

He should be given a choice between the harshest sentence or a plea deal naming who encouraged him.

Same thought process done by Luigi?

who inspired such hate and murderous intent? hmmm.
Could it be MSNBC and the democratic party?

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

Like many above I want to know who encouraged that delusion. How? When? Where?

Why not just redistrict voting boundaries to favor Democrats? That's how you save the world.

Another insane Democrat instigated by the violent rhetoric of democrats. It is amazing how democrats accuse republicans of being Hitler, Nazis, etc. when they and their disciples are the violent part of our society. That party is dangerous and needs to be extinguished.

Hey rage filled leftists - kill everyone you hate. That will totally work out for you. a-holes.

I just looked at my calendar, and I noticed that it says 2025.

This incident occurred in 2022.

Why has it taken so long to come to this point?

Sure I do, I'm calling for the extinguishing of a party that has created riots, burned down businesses, terrorized citizens and allowed an invasion to occur which has murdered thousands.

I stand by it.

It's a DC jury pool. I'm surprised he didn't plead innocent by reason of insanity. If he got off free as a bird, it would serve to encourage the others. He's really letting the team down. Well, perhaps the NYC jury will find Luigi innocent.

I'll bet you he doesn't spend more than 2 years in prison because after all, Brett Kavanaugh is a Republican and the Democrat prosecuting him (Pam Bondi) needs Republicans to know just how much less their lives are worth.

We haven't even mentioned the institutionalized theft of trillions of US taxpayer dollars from the federal Treasury.

The Democrat Party is a criminal organization and we need to hang its leaders in the same way we hung the people who murdered Abraham Lincoln: Publicly

All the Nazis need to die! I heard it on MSNBC. Joy Reid pie holed it, too.
Who is a Nazi? why... anyone not properly corruptocratical!

I'm not sure how much of a punishment he should get. I think he absolutely needs to spend time in prison, but I give him credit for stopping his wrong actions before they became terrible actions. Had he progressed further, by saying actually breaking into the house, or even taking a shot but missing then I would want a very severe punishment.

Think back to the Kav-Brah hearings, kiddies. Surely you remember Schumer, Feinstein, Klobuchar, Booker, and Gilibrand as being the most vocal, slanderous, and despicable scumbags of a piss-poor lot. Then there was the round-the-clock rage from the Democrat Party media. So in short, this young fool listened to Democrat Party rhetoric, and now he's going to prison. This makes him one of the Democrat PArty's most favorite things in the whole world- a useful idiot.

You are stupid Freder. You pretend we are as stupid as you are.

We aren't as stupid as you are. We have noticed that the democrat party is evil, violent, and dishonest about what they are trying to accomplish. We have noticed that you will lie and change laws to get what you want. We have noticed that you want mail in voting and fight against voter ID at every opportunity because you want voter fraud to continue.

More and more people are concluding that we will never be able to have nice things while people like you are around.

I agree with Aggie and Vault Dweller. He planned a murder and decided against it. He turned himself in. He appears to have recognized the wrongfulness of his acts--and of what he had planned to do. He stopped before he carried it out. Is he sincere? I don't know--but I would like to believe that "justice" doesn't punish bad thoughts, and encompasses mercy.

As a previous commenter said - what took 3 years? As context the person who went into Pelosi's house and later attacked her husband was sentenced months ago - 30 years ago as I recall.

Whole lotta delusion goin' 'round lately.
Also, "I would like to believe that "justice" doesn't punish bad thoughts, and encompasses mercy. " Sure, sure, ten years ought to be merciful enough.
