"The left is full of empathic people. Right. And so those who parasitize empathy have a field day on the left...."

"The ethic is pretty straightforward. Anything that cries is a baby, it's like, no, some things that cry are monsters....Well, let, let's take the case of Nicola Sturgeon. The, the Scottish Prime Minister, the previous Scottish Prime Minister. Any man who wants to can be a woman. It's like, okay, any man, you mean any man? Do you? Yeah. Ha! Have you encountered the nightmare men? Oh, they don't exist. They're all victims. Yeah. You just bloody well wait till you encounter one. You'll change your story very rapidly. Yeah. And for the, for the naive and sheltered empaths of the radical left, they're either psychopaths, so they're wolves in sheep clothing, or they're people so that are so naive that the, the — what would you say? — Red Riding Hood's grandmother can definitely have his way with.... There are no shortage of naive people who've never really encountered a monster and have no imagination for it.... And they're, and they're very good at crying like infants... And then the mothers, the naive mothers come flooding out...."

Said Jordan Peterson on Joe Rogan's podcast. Scroll to 02:30:52 for the part I excerpted.

Not a big fan, but he's right.

Watch the Julie Jaman Story - if google will let you.
These are men who undress little girls in the YMCA locker room. And Julie Jaman is told to shove off.
The army of normals who want it to stop. Then, these "men" who think wearing a dress makes them women - turn into rage filled monsters.
The left want to protect the monsters.

The Democrats have basically chosen to go on retainer for the cartels. It's a bold strategy, but I don't think even the Supreme Court is going to withstand public anger. Especially not if the Trump administration compares the "rights" of illegals to the Jan 6 defendants.

They might have former ground with some of the Palestinian defendants, but maybe not. It would be more popular with the Democrat base, yet for some reason the New York donors are profoundly against helping such people.

Munchausen's-by-proxy mothers are performatively empathetic and wish to be perceived as such by all those around them.

I think something similar is going on in the minds of the commie scum who can't shut up about how evil and flawed America is, but it could be made perfect if only those neanderthal peasants would shut up and do as the enlightened philosopher-kings of the Left command.

The left want to protect the monsters.

Always.

Again, it's a psychological problem. They have this smug desire to be seen ostentatiously lifting up the downtrodden and to be lauded for their virtue.

I do believe there are "empaths" who think transwomen are all castrated, when the whole point of the fetish is to look in the mirror and jerk off. Need your original equipment for that!

The left does not make sense and are illogical. The left are staunch feminists and champion women’s causes such as female sports but the left are also champions of LGBT causes and insist that men who claim they are women can play in female sports and reject any feminists that complain, such as JK Rowling. This is replicated a million times as each identity group conflicts with another.

Nihilism masquerading as Empathy

Ugh, I wish we could easily edit our poor grammar.

What makes it difficult, is that the Progressive Left is a herd of empaths, many of them sincere, but the herd is intermixed with psychopaths that are quite good at blending in seamlessly, and even better at subtly motivating the True Believers to nihilistic ends.

Dr Az Hakeem is a psychotherapist in the UK who has spent years specializing in gender dysphoria. According to him there are a number of varieties of this, and usually surgery and hormone treatments are not the answer. His findings are at odds with the trans activists. He appears on YouTube, and if you can get past his accent he's worth a listen.

Another voice of reason is psychiatrist Miriam Grossman on this side of the pond.

I generally agree with Dr. Peterson, but I'd argue with him on that point. The Left would never admit to meeting one of the nightmare men. They're very narcissistic in that respect, they don't admit mistakes. In fact, I'd say most of them go so far as to have a sort of amnesia about mistakes and inconvenient embarrassments. That's why you see so many of Leftist politicians on CNN saying the exact opposite of what they were saying a week ago.

In another clip Peterson brings up the garden of Eden. Eve listened to the snake as she would an infant. And cuck Adam went along with everything.

Our Dem friends are familiar enough with Hitler to throw his name around. Where's the empathy?

There comes a point when empathy becomes enabling bad and self-destructive behavior.

A lot of people on the left don't get that.

There's a reason why there is such a thing as "tough love." Sometimes you have to cause people discomfort to actually improve things.

Prof, this should get your My Dinner with Andre tag. I suppose every JRE episode is a feature-length convo on interesting subjects, but this particular one really hits the same sweet spot as MDwE.

A lot of the empathy on the left is performative, competitive, a kind of status symbol.

"The left is full of empathic people."

If they perceive you can be used as a tool to advance their objectives, they're happy to pretend to be as empathic as it takes. If not, well... you can just fuck right off.

Phew. More evidence that casual conversation doesn’t transcribe very well.

Being forced to read Shakespeare in school was hard, but then going to see the play leads to a ‘now I get it!’ moment.

I’m an hour in and haven’t got to the quote. It is a great interview. Right now going through the discussion about the “woke right”, which Peterson modifies I think correctly that it isn’t the “woke” ideas, but cluster B personalities hitching their wagon to others to gain credibility. It fits a lot of people that are considered Trump supporters, many from his first administration, that didn’t seem to make the invite list this administration.

Its an interesting question. How many of these "emphathetic" and "Bleeding hearts" types on the Left are really that way, and how many are just using "empathy" and "victimization" for their own means?

Its obvious the Left has been using "victimhood" as a rhetorical weapon for a long time. And I suppose it really works, especially on women, because most women are trained to be "nice". You don't want to be mean and nasty do you?

Its all manipulation.

As for Pederson, he's a mixed bag. He has the right enemies. He says the right things about Transgenders and some social issues but then he'll say something weird, or absurd. He never talked about Israel, then was hired by Ben Shapiro, and then became Mr. super-zionist, let me go to the wailing wall. So, you have wonder about his motivations.

Begley: "What a ridiculous coat JP is wearing. Must be a Canadian thing."

Peterson has attracted a bespoke tailor as a hanger-on (pun intended). The tailor sends him what appear to be randomly-generated suits. This one is rather tame for the guy's oeuvre. Others have had panels of contrasting colors, or the entire suit made of a print featuring Christian icons.

Not sure why Peterson wears them. Could be Canadian prairie waste-not-want-not. Or he just realized it's good marketing - a way to make a small, thin, squeaky-voiced guy command attention. The icon suit is part of his will-he-won't-he religious conversion game that he plays with his fans.
