There is a cost-free and very simple way to reverse illegal immigration into the United States without buying a single bus ticket to Mexico:

1) Turn off their ObamaPhones
2) Stop paying for their hotel rooms and room service
3) Don't re-charge their EBT cards
4) Cash Only at the emergency rooms
5) Do it in winter

By summer, the immigration problem in the United States miraculously disappears and nobody will be able to figure out how it was done.

Now, take all those tax dollars that Democrats used to steal, and instead funnel them to Republican NGOs and launder those tax dollars straight through to the GOP and let's create a 100-year Revolution.

So wandering through X formerly known as Twitter I see the libtards are breaking out the old lie that the Reagan campaign illegally colluded with the Iranians to release the hostages as Reagan was being inaugurated. No idea who this guy is...

Jimmy Carter is dead, and the U.S. has never reckoned with the "October Surprise" scandal — the fact that the 1980 Reagan campaign colluded with the Iranian government to make sure the American hostages weren't released before the election. This was genuine treason by the GOP.

I posted my #2 "new" song of the year in this morning's sunrise cafe post. Here's another song from the same album:

Bonus song: The Darling Buds - "Crystal Clear" - Crawdaddy - 1990

Reagan definitely colluded with Iran in the release of the hostages.

Reagan told them through intermediaries that if they didn't release the hostages, then they all would die gruesome radiation deaths with their skin literally melting off like in Indiana Jones ... even if all the hostages died in the process.

So Iran colluded with Reagan by releasing the hostages.

Is there anybody left who still things Covid came from the wet market?

That’s the old Benny Affleck bullschiff attempt at rehabilitating Carter that he added to his 2012 movie about the hostage release.

I am a little confused - is it conflation of 2 issues
1- did virus escape/spread from lab or wet market
2-was virus that infected people naturally occurring or lab tweaked

Original Mike said...

The naturally occurring virus was modified in the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) laboratory, giving it the ability to infect humans (i.e. gain-of-function). It escaped from WIV.

I’m just going to ask to say something personal here.

My ex-husband just died. An unschooled, gothically, horrifically abused, foster care, mechanical genius. Three online hours of people talking about how he would just show up and fix complicated house problems for them and refused any money, though he could sure could have used it.

Just like him. Rest in peace, William. You gave much more than was ever given to you. And damn, he could engineer anything out of nothing. We had a bulletproof self-cleaning cat litter box attached to the outside of our second-floor landing when we were renovating a house that appears in Walking Dead.

OK. Thanks.

What Althouse said in a post was : "But look how clearly the [WaPo] article states that Biden intended to use the Justice Department to destroy his political adversary!" The NY Post makes the same point - that a WaPo article shows that Biden intended to use the Justice Department to destroy his political opponents and it quotes Althouse at the end from her December 29, 2024 post. The gist of it all is that Biden is foolishly trying to buff up his legacy by complaining the WaPo that he would look better had Merrick Garland prosecuted his critics as vigorously as Biden wished.
Honestly, Biden must be as senile as everyone says not to see the implications. And I suppose his staff is busy with resumes and no longer monitoring his interviews with the press. An opportunity?

“… as law professor Ann Althouse observed, that “Biden intended to use the Justice Department to destroy his political adversary!”

No link 🔗? It’s probably NY Post policy.

Sweden has now turned its immigration into a net outflow.

They did this very complicated trick.

1, Stop letting people in
2. Stop giving any money to the ones already there

So hard, I doubt any developed nation could copy it.

The fantasy Reagan/hostages story was spread by aptly named nutjob Gary Sick. To fit his timeline, GHWB was supposed to have flown in an SR-71, which was still under Carter's command.

It was really ungrateful of Khomeini to screw Carter over, after his help putting him in power.

I'm going to again say "be careful what you wish for" when complaining that "something should have been done" about Biden's incompetence. Political control of the Executive Branch rests on the relative fiction that the President knows and approves of actions taken by the officials he appoints and the agencies they lead. There was no insignificant amount of trouble for Trump (and other Republican Presidents, even in some instances for Democrats) with various agencies and staffers going rouge and following their own agendas. By creating the expectation the President's appointees should second-guess their boss's directives looking for signs of dementia you may find the bogus claims by Democrats that various Executive Branch TLAs are supposedly 'independent' of Presidental control actually codified. The line between ignorance due to incompetence and ignorance due to inattention (or willful misdirection) is quite gray.

Every federal agency is managed using 5,000+ pages of laws, rules, and policies. Those in power pick a random set of 3 rules to control agency operations. The select a rule that says (1) "We must do X," another that says (2) "We are not allowed to do X," and one that says (3) "We are required to research further/jump through a dozen hoops before doing X."

Three selectively-enforced rules is enough to shape, slow, and stall any executive action. When the new political appointees arrive to an agency with a new President, they sometimes (try to) bully through agenda items. These get rejected by the agency's internal lawyers (Trump), or a federal judge or the Supreme Court (Biden).

The argument over whether it was released from a lab or a wet market is designed to obscure the fact that the United States pays people to create these viruses.

THE lie of the year (make that last 4 years)

Byron Donalds
@ByronDonalds
They blamed it on a "Stutter."
They blamed it on "Russian Disinfo."
They blamed it on "Cheap-Fakes."
They hid him at every opportunity.
They scripted every public event.
They denied the Hur Report findings.
They sent him on vacation for 570 days.
They brazenly lied to you FOR YEARS.

This could be the biggest Presidential cover-up in American history.

And the media defended it all.
Until they got exposed at the debate.

Don't let the media gaslight you.
This story existed FOR YEARS.
And they avoided it ON PURPOSE.
