Updates on 2 recently blogged NYC stories.

1. "DA Alvin Bragg drops murder charge against bodega worker Jose Alba" (NY Post): "The DA’s office filed a motion in Manhattan Criminal Court to dismiss the case against the 61-year-old bodega worker after an investigation found it couldn’t prove the 'defendant was not justified in his use of deadly physical force.'" Blogged here on July 11th.

2. "Shack attack: NYC demolishes Manhattan Bridge hobo’s makeshift SRO" (NY Post): "The street denizen who was living rent free among the city’s most amazing river views, did not appear to be around when his makeshift shack off to the side of the historic span’s bike path was destroyed and the splintered pieces carted off, said local fruit vendor Mohammed Ali." Blogged here on July 17th.

Good.

Good.

I always find it intersting that people talk about skyhight rents in NYC, yet there are millions who are on welfare or are working at Bordegas. How do they afford it? Has to be rent control, and government subsidies.

Its a good thing for Mr. Alba that the NY Post got interested in his case. Otherwise, he'd still be on Riker's Island.

"DA Alvin Bragg drops charges, scumbag's girlfriend still free after stabbing Bodega worker"

Kinda a sorta fixed that for the post.

Bragg is another Soros DA. I have never figured out Soros' motives but maybe he just like chaos.

It was that bright green poop bucket that did him in.

He should have gotten a lighter shade of pail.

The prosecution "couldn’t prove the 'defendant was not justified in his use of deadly physical force" is a shitty way of admitting that the defendant's actions were lawful self-defense. Give the guy a medal, or at least a pat on the back.

I chuckled at Bob Boyd. I also chuckle at the internet comparisons of Jill "Bo-get-uh" Biden and Peggy Hill, who like Dr. Jill teaches a language that she can not speak.

Mr. Alba is very fortunate that he is brown and not white, or Jesse Jackson and his crew would be all in his grill.
Mr Alba is also very fortunate that his bodega had good security cameras, and they were working, that night.

I feel bad for the potato chip girl. Growing up with that mother and that now-deceased baby daddy, she has very little chance of escaping the thug life.

Glad to hear about both conclusions to their stories.

But Mr. Alba should receive some kind of compensation. He never should have even been arrested. I'm glad his story received the attention it did, and that New Yorkers stood by him.

How long will it be before the Bernard Goetz story begins to replay throughout the city? Soon preemptive vigilantism will be a reasonable response.

An unarmed man shopping for sundries with his girlfriend and her young daughter is stabbed to death. Not surprising this initially leads to arrest and charges against the undisputed killer.

2 weeks too late. And WHY hasn't he charged the girlfriend, who stabbed Jose Alba?? SHE started the whole thing, and she gets nothing??

RCOcean,
There are plenty of cheap rooms in bad neighborhoods that are a long bus then train ride away from where they work where you stick multiple people per bedroom. There are squats and illegal apartments. There are unsafe and unsanitary apartments.

I had a buddy whose friends turned a factory floor into a communal living and working space. The building wasn't zoned for residential leasing. The building also wasn't anywhere up to code to house the printer toner cartridge recycling business in the bottom floor either.

I said- Wow. That’s your take on what happened? It’s 6:26 in the morning here and you may have left me speechless for the rest of the day.

take it easy on Readering : he is providing meritorious service showing us how Soros' and his minion DA mind works

The killing merited investigation, but Alba was immediately arrested and held without bail. The DA's zeal and self righteousness in prosecuting this killing is not consistent with his efforts at prosecuting other crimes.

Keep in mind, Soros made his 1st Billion shorting the English Pound.. Which caused Mayhem.
My guess is he is now selling the world short. I don't see HOW he's going to make money on that.. But; it's What he does

If the government refuses to protect people from predators, people will do it themselves.

An Amari t-shirt, if you catch the sale, costs $300. They generally run around $390. That's what the dead man was wearing. He couldn't afford to buy his daughter a cheap snack, but that's what he was wearing. I wonder how he raised the money to buy a $300 t-shirt? The bet here is that he didn't work long hours at a bodega....We get all kind of background info on Rittenhouse and Zimmerman, but where are the illuminating stories about the Amari wearer. He hasn't been beatified like George Floyd, but neither is there any information about his background. Just as a sight reading, he strikes one as a world class scumbag.

"A young girl goes to a new place and immediately kills someone. She then join up with three strangers to kill again.": apocryphal description of The Wizard of Oz in TV Guide

That description is far more honest than yours, Readering

He wasn't in the store shopping with her, she brought him in to attack the store owner after the owner wouldn't let her steal from the store.
This was known from eh beginning, since it was on the same video that showed us the stabbing.

But thank you for showing us that you're just as morally wretched and dishonest as we think you are

It means he's a hard core leftist who is opposed to punishing criminals, who was funded in his DA race by Soros, who has been working on completely destroying law in the US by funding DAs, AGs, and Election officials who will ignore the law and push left wing goals instead

You really claim to not know this?

Have you considered that he/she(?) might be more morally wretched and dishonest than that? Because you should.
