"The Biden administration is probably breathing a sigh of relief because they weren’t ready for the rule to be lifted."

Said Wayne Cornelius, "director emeritus of the Center for Comparative Immigration Studies at the University of California," San Diego, quoted in "Judge Orders Government to Continue Migrant Expulsions on Border" (NYT).

A federal judge on Friday blocked the Biden administration from lifting a pandemic-related health order whose scheduled expiration on Monday would have reopened the doors of the United States to asylum seekers at the border for the first time in more than two years.... The sweeping public health measure, known as Title 42, was put into place in March 2020 to control the transmission of the coronavirus across the border. Under its authority, thousands of migrants arriving at land borders have been swiftly expelled, without an opportunity for those fleeing danger and persecution to request humanitarian protection in the United States.

Any non-Mexican crossing the southern border is coming through Mexico. Under existing treaties and international law they are not eligible to request asylum here unless Mexico refuses to grant asylum if they’re fleeing danger and persecution. So return all non-Mexicans immediately to Mexico and make them Mexico’s problem as the law requires.

So, he's saying that the Biden Admin, is its Own Worst Enemy? Seems believable, if sad

The Beiden admin is always a day late and a dollar short. They are still trying to work on the great replacement by flooding the US with immigrants. Yet, Hispanics are like people in Colorado, "Once I move here we should not let anyone else in." So voting Hispanics become republican and the great replacement backfires.

It’s not going to be so easy to deal with that border when the butcher’s bill for Joe Biden’s war is presented in the form of mass starvation and the world weapons black market has been flooded with man portable weapons capable of taking down commercial aircraft or armored vehicles.

Donald Trump would have picked up the phone and talked to Putin and probably prevented the war, even if they impeached him for doing it.

Hard working Mexicans are a good target for a populism, BTW.

The illegal aliens don’t care what any federal judge rules.

The crazier of Biden's handlers are probably upset by this. We'll see who wins the struggle.

Amazing. This administration is so afraid of such a small and vocal extreme faction of their party that instead of making the best decisions for the nation at large, they have to rely on Manchin, and now this judge, to bail them out of terrible policy decisions.

Emigration reform to mitigate progress and collateral damage at both ends of the bridge and throughout.

Are you sure about that?

It seems to me the ones implementing these policies, from city council to Supreme Court Justices, are in total lockstep and do so quietly. They are not the pink haired lunatic in the street screaming at the sky.

I know it sounds snotty, but is there anything this administration has been ready for?
