"Where is the liberal corporate media’s concern about that real violence? Additionally, none of what your question implies is accurate. It is more fake news and propaganda."

From the Republican Party of Texas, a "Statement Regarding ‘Biden Bus’ Incident." Full text:
Abby Livingston from The Texas Tribune reached out to the RPT today and asked a question about a Biden campaign bus in her attempt to portray conservatives as violent radicals, even though it is leftists from Antifa and BLM who have been assaulting, robbing, and looting fellow citizens and their property.

Below is Chairman Allen West’s response:
Three Trump supporters have been executed, one in Portland, one in Denver, and one Milwaukee. A leftist mob attempted to storm the house of the McCloskeys, threatened to burn their house down, rape Mrs. McCloskey, and then kill them both.

Where is the liberal corporate media’s concern about that real violence? Additionally, none of what your question implies is accurate. It is more fake news and propaganda.

Prepare to lose…stop bothering me. Maybe Soros can cut y’all another check in 2022.

Do you know what the "'Biden Bus' Incident" is? Here's how the Texas Tribune ended up writing about it: "Biden camp cancels multiple Texas events after a 'Trump Train' surrounded a campaign bus/The highway skirmish came as Democrats close ground in a state that is polling competitively in the race for president. Recent polls indicate the presidential race in Texas between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden is tight, with some national prognosticators calling it a 'toss-up.'”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into a Friday incident in which a group of Trump supporters, driving trucks and waving Trump flags, surrounded and followed a Biden campaign bus as it drove up I-35 in Hays County, a law enforcement official confirmed to The Texas Tribune Saturday.
The confrontation, captured on video, featured at least one minor collision and led to Texas Democrats canceling three scheduled campaign events on Friday. The campaign officials cited “safety concerns” for the cancellations....
Eric Cervini, a volunteer for the Biden campaign who grew up in Round Rock and flew in from Los Angeles, said he was driving on I-35 from San Antonio to the next event when he saw a long line of 40-50 vehicles along the side of the highway with Trump and American flags.
Cervini told the Tribune that when he arrived in San Marcos, he started to hear from people on the bus that the Trump supporters had started following them closely, honking their horns and shouting. According to the Biden campaign, multiple trucks pulled in front of the bus and appeared to try to slow it down. The campaign canceled the event in San Marcos and proceeded directly to Austin where another event was scheduled at the AFL-CIO in downtown Austin....

Here's the Twitchy presentation, with lots of tweets from Cervini.

I've watched the video and think the Biden people are exaggerating it but also that driving should be about driving, not political expression. It's one thing to have stickers and signs on your car, and it's okay to group your cars together in a "caravan" (like the way people drive from a funeral to a gravesite). But it's wrong to drive in a style that's meant to express negativity or opposition to other drivers, even if you maintain safe speeds and proper distance between the cars. You should not do things that make people in other cars (or in trucks and buses) feel that they are being challenged or recognized and hated. It's dangerous and it's not funny.

Cervini was exaggerating — "These Trump supporters, many of whom were armed, surrounded the bus on the interstate and attempted to drive it off the road" — and perhaps he was not as afraid as he acted, but it was wrong to use the highway like that — even if the Trumpsters were operating in a spirit of good fun and merely trying to say We vastly outnumber you

I've seen the video that shows the accident, and I think it's pretty clear that both drivers are guilty of recklessness. The entire lead-up to the accident is not shows, but it looks like the Biden car starts it and creates an alarming escalation in a stupid effort to get between the Trump truck and the Biden bus, but the Trump truck takes on the challenge and plays chicken with the car by closing the gap behind the truck to an insanely small space.

The GOP statement is sassily phrased, but the argument is specious. Murder is worse than reckless driving, but murder is worse than a lot of things we're entitled to complain about to the police.

And I do understand that this is another occasion to make quips about how the left talks about "defunding" the police, but there's no way to know whether the individuals operating and riding in that bus are anti-police. And, more importantly, even people who hate the police deserve police protection. Equal justice for all, even people who oppose justice.

ADDED: Here's the NYT story on the subject, adopting the running-them-off-the-road theory of what happened: "Vehicles flying Trump flags try to force a Biden-Harris campaign bus off a highway in Texas."

It ends with a quote from Trump, spoken at his Montoursville rally last night: "Anybody see the picture of their crazy bus driving down the highway, they are surrounded by hundreds of cars, they are all Trump flags all over the place."

It's called a sloppy lane change. It happens all the time in heavy traffic at moderate to high speeds.

Stuff like this has a high potential for tragedy, accidental or intentional, especially when it involves highly-motivated or agitated individuals. Not a good thing.

But I can't help but ask "Well, what about ...?". Where is the FBI investigation into the dozens, hundreds, or thousands of incidents of violence threatened and perpetrated by Leftists against their perceived opponents within the last year?

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into a Friday incident ...

They sat on the Hunter Biden tapes for over a year but they’re “Johnny Jump Up” over this?

Murder is worse than reckless driving, but murder is worse than a lot of things ...

Before I got all sanctimonious I think I’d want to know how the Texas Tribune covered the murders and crimes committed by Antifa and by or (allegedly) in support of BLM. If they downplayed or failed to cover things like the murders of Jessica Whitaker or little Secoriea Turner, not to mention the other three murders, then they may technically have a First Amendment right to print what they see fit to print, but I have a natural, human right to view with a certain level of contempt the Texas Tribune and the people who are more excited about this incident than about serious violence, including murder.

serious question
if Biden can't deal with heavy traffic, what's he supposed to be able do about foreign events?

The Biden bus was straddling two lanes and the white car swerved over into the truck's lane. The Trump supporters were teasing the Biden bus but were not violent and certainly was not attempting to cause anyone physical harm. The left are just ticked that their usual tactics are not working and the conservatives are pushing back. If the conservatives start rioting and burning down businesses, get back to me and I'll let you know if I've changed my opinion.

People are good and tired of being cancelled for supporting Trump. At least down here in Texas. What started as a single boat parade on Lake Ray Hubbard has grown into hundreds of boat parades, car caravans, tractor parades and flag rallies on overpasses.

Even though the news buries it, people know about all the violence from the left. From Steve Scalise, Ron Paul, to the riots in the cities, farmer's equipment burnt for a Trump flag, and a house in Seattle burnt for a Trump flag as well.

If someone wants to play chicken with a Trump parade, they certainly can, but don't go crying if you lose.

Yeah, I know, I should denounce the Trump drivers for their testicular fortitude, but I'm tired of being vilified as well.

Actually, I'm tired of this election and the last four years of The Resistance.

Remove all the political flags, stickers, etc from both cars and it was something you would see on a typical morning or afternoon commute on roads over 2 lanes. Agree - both drivers were at fault. "Forcing" anyone off the road was an overreaction.

I thought the police were under no obligation to protect any particular individual.

As a practical matter:

"Get attacked by a black guy and shoot him to save their own lives: immediate enormous controversy, intense investigation, intense media scrutiny, extended suspension of patrol duty while the investigation is done. Receive death threats against themselves and their families. Enormous legal costs. Be blamed for destruction caused by rioters and looters beginning that day. Not returned to regular police duty for many months after the investigation is finished, perhaps not ever.

There is a third option, and a huge number of police are taking it: retire if eligible or quit. Police retirements and resignations have risen this year by multiples. And police-force accessions are very, very low. I read of one big-city, new-cop class that graduated three new officers. Three. That same month 12 serving officers retired. They took at least 250 officer-years of experience with them.

There is a looming, severe cop shortage in cities across the country. Police who want to stay in the biz are fleeing to rural counties, but those counties have only so many slots.

We will see the day when dialing 9-1-1 will basically be met with silence. What will you do then?"

Oh, and the Trump supporters were armed. Duh! Of course they were armed. This was Texas. You’d have the same thing in rural MT. Probably a lot of rural America. It seemed like every time I bonded with a guy last summer, it involved comparing picket pistols, and then truck guns. If it bothered the snowflakes on the Biden/Harris bus, they should go back to their Dem controlled city, where their politicians have disarmed everyone except for AntiFA, BLM, gangbangers, and the private security of the rich and famous.

I don’t think that the claim that they were intimidated by a bunch of pickups flying American and Trump flags is going very far either. In Hays County -Travis is a different thing. They were just being boisterous good old boys. This was great fun for everyone concerned, except the Democrats, but they mostly didn’t count. Because, of course, they were mostly from either the NE or CA, and obviously can’t take a joke. Humorless lot. They should go back home where they won’t offend anyone. If you want triggering - that blue Biden bus is triggering, esp after the revelations that his family had been bought and paid by for the a Commie Chinese, and the money was flowing through the hands of his coke addled pervert of a son.

And, no, Texas isn’t going to be close, and this incident shows why. These sorts of shenanigans are seen as just good old boys (mostly) harmlessly just letting off steam. Think of Aggie/UT games. That sort of thing. 30-40 years ago, it would have been Democrats doing it, and the police would have laughed at any Republicans being butt hurt enough to call it in to them. It’s kinda a community gestalt sort of thing, where this sort of thing is seen as just having fun, if there is strong community support for their side. It is the implied level of community support that says that Biden isn’t going to win in Texas.

How many people know that three police officers were followed home and had their cars firebombed and/or pelted with bricks in their family driveways in Atlanta? The AJC barely covered this story but ran a front page story the other day trying to frighten people that right-wing militias were going to keep blacks from voting. Yeah, right. They spoke to "historians" about how terrible this was because of the history of voter suppression in the South. The academicians also said that the presence of police at voter sites suppressed the black vote too, even though police are there to ensure security so people can vote. So the state's major paper is making up lies about imaginary white militias descending on black voters and imaginary racist police suppressing black voters. Note that in places with high black voter turnout, all or virtually all the police chiefs and sheriffs are black, as are many or most officers and deputies, especially in the higher ranks. But who cares? We are nazis and klansmen, and blacks are being prevented from voting, and when Tuesday is over we will be punished.

Terrifying. I've never seen anything like it. We're going to end up in camps.

"... the Trump truck takes on the challenge and plays chicken with the car by closing the gap behind the truck to an insanely small space."

After watching the video multiple times, I concluded that
1) The white car was following the bus very closely.
2) The bus began a lane change into the truck's lane while the truck was still alongside it.
3) The truck dropped back to let the bus into the lane.
4) The white car attempted to continue following the bus very closely, which would have required the truck to yield to him.
5) The "Trump truck takes on the challenge" by failing to yield his lane.
6) The driver of the white car turns on his emergency blinkers.

So, the question is, was the guy in the white car guilty of attempted vehicular homicide, or just reckless driving, when he tried to force the truck off the road? I would be inclined to say, that you can't "attempt homicide" if there is no credible possibility that you will succeed, so, reckless driving.

Let's just consider this "fact" published by the hysterical freaks at the NYT. Have you ever gotten in front of a moving bus and "tried" to stop? No? Of course not, you're reading this. Well, OK, but suppose you were Dave Montgomery, or Maggie Haberman, and you were a journalist at the NYT. That might seem like a perfectly reasonable thing to try. Make the bus stop! Run it off the road! Go for it, kids! What's the worst that can happen? A little road burn?

"Obama and Biden's Michigan rally looks like a high school car wash."

There were cute chicks scrubbing cars in bikinis? Maybe I should rethink this Biden thing.

Nah, I call bullshit. Nobody would let a Biden around something like that.

I always hate it when the side I have more respect for adopts the tactics that I hate about the side I have less respect for.

Agreed.

Harassing people you disagree with, disrupting meetings, shouting down speakers—these are things I hate about the left. This new tactic of Trump supporters harassing Biden, harassing Biden supporters, is obnoxious and a step in the wrong direction.

1: If Biden can't handle some heckling, esp. given that he doesn't have to handle any hard questions from reporters, that's a sign he shouldn't be running for office

2: No one was "harassing Biden supporters" there. While the Biden campaign claims that the Trump trucks timed to slow down the Biden bu, I see no evidence that is true. Simply driving with the Biden bus in not harassment.

Showing up at whatever events the Biden people try to throw is also not harassment.

Showing up and beating up people? THAT would be harassment. But I see no evidence that happened. Do you?

I'm looking forward to 2024, when we get past all this animosity and peacefully elect Ivanka Trump as president.

@Jim: Boy, I can look at numbers just as well drunk as well as sober. It's not hard, because I drink whisky, not kool-aid. Trump it at about 50% in Texas, Biden is at about 48%. You might be drunk off your ass, but even you can see that Trump people don't vastly outnumber Biden voters in Texas. Even if the poll is not entirely accurate, those numbers are not that far off.

Thus: Trump will probably win Texas. But Trump people don't vastly outnumber anyone. If Trump wins, it will be by a hair.
