We drove up between Hagarstown and Frostburg yesterday. Some hillsides were covered in native redbud in full bloom. At home, they're pretty much spent already.

Thanks for the Scientific Name Challenge. It all came back, just like riding a bike.
Love Redbuds and it is kind of weird to have those clumps of flowers on the big trunks.
Looks like herpes. .. Not that I would know.
I am sitting in my favorite chair on the screened in porch looking out at our red bud growing in a big patch of bluebells. Life is good.

Redbuds in bloom here in the NJ hills. They'll soon be swarmed with bees, then gone.
