The governor’s day began at a Harley-Davidson dealership in Des Moines — right in his comfort zone. A longtime motorcycle enthusiast who counts himself as the proud owner of a Harley Road King, Walker arrived wearing blue jeans, black gloves and boots, and a Harley-Davidson jacket. While other Republican candidates held their own events nearby, only Walker availed himself of the chance to ride with Ernst, trailed by several hundred bikers, on a 39-mile ride through the roads of central Iowa.A the link: a photo of lots of photographers getting their shot of Walker in the motorcycle getup.

Politico: "The man to beat in Iowa: Scott Walker."
"He is reluctant to embrace the front-runner’s mantle. But his Iowa roots, plain-spoken style, and familiarity as the governor next door have made him a force in the key early state."

I wonder if he will ever hold an event in New York or California ? At l;east until he is the nominee.
If he rides a motorcycle regularly I hope he's an organ donor.
I think the story contrasts well between him and the other candidates who don't have a drivers license, and who are on social security. Reminds me of the Driving Miss Daisy movie, taking her to the retirement home.
These may be the litmus tests for sorting through the riff-raff.
Costumes are fun
"If he rides a motorcycle regularly I hope he's an organ donor."
Let me write that down, Eric. Been riding several decades now, never, ever heard this pithy little gem.
"The man to beat..." just you wait until Hillary wins. The sexism and oppression will be over baby.
that's baby as in new born... not the other kind.
We don't call all motorcycle riders "organ donors" here, just the ones on jap bikes running down the painted lines in between lanes on the freeway at 80 MPH.
Every once in awhile, someone changes lanes in front of them and the fire trucks come to quickly hook up life-support until the organs can be harvested. Then one of the big trucks hoses down the kill site.
Course this causes a traffic tie-up for an hour. I usually throw some bread pieces near the body, so the big birds can make a sandwich from all the meat laying around.

Its ok, many are jealous of the Rider lifestyle.
Walker will never look as macho as Barry on a girl's bike wearing his Mom Jeans.

What Walker looks is comfortable, which the current President has never looked.
Damn, media finally figured out it's Walker out front, not Christie or Rubio or Cruz or the other moles they've been busy whacking.
Walker continues to, in the words of one of his detractors here "pay the price"...
If Walker remains in front, it will be an interesting debate on August 6. Perhaps his opponents will ask for better answers than the media has.
Walker seems normal.
When I took the motorcycle safety course about 20 years ago, I asked the instructor what the percentages were on having an accident. I wondered at his evasiveness but after a while being exposed to the bikers, I finally figured out there is no "whether;" there is only a "when."
When I laid mine down on a wet street while turning into a parking lot, I decided this would be my only "when" and sold the bike.
One of my favorite examples of cognitive dissonance in law is a motorcyclist driving by waving to a motorcycle cop ticketing a motorist for lack of seatbelt.
Walker on ABC suggested he would back a Constitutional Amendment to allow each state to,decide who can marry who.
Did that just kill him in the general election, or will he now just walk that statement back until Nov 2016? It worked on abortion.
Huckabee and Santorum won Iowa the last times. Scott Walker will be a great failed candidate against Hillary in 2020.
just proves how unreliable an indicator Iowa is. Meanwhile, that Hilary is ON FIRE!
Interesting after my comment last night - https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6329595&postID=6719118777749145577 - suggesting that the NYTimes could have called Walker's style "plain-spoken" that Politico would use that term today. Maybe some of the national writers are following Althouse for the best coverage of Gov. Walker.

Went over the high side. Walked away without a scratch and never rode again.
"Did that just kill him in the general election"
Walker, the perpetually sinking ship.
