... Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, who helped draft Warren to run for U.S. Senate against GOP incumbent Scott Brown... said Warren already has won huge support from progressives for her recent bold questioning of financial regulators who she said are protecting big banks over families. Her rapid opposition to Obama’s proposed cuts only added to her star power.Pressure on Hillary to go liberal. Clearly, it works best if the pressure comes from another woman.
“If Hillary Clinton or others don’t firmly oppose these cuts, they open up a huge amount of political space for an insurgent to run and win,” Green said.
How will all these aging boomer women who've been hoping to see a female President feel about the younger woman getting the edge? Perhaps it's just the thing to bring out the empathy for the Hillary. There's always a younger woman!

If Liz Warren has ever accomplished anything, that would disqualify her for the nomination.
There's also the reality that Warren is gob-smackingly idiotic.

That's funny.
Her "question" was silly and idiotic. Of course the not that bright, easily misled community based reality went wild.

How would that disqualify her from a Democratic nomination?
Imagine a debate between Warren and Hillary....
I can't imagine going with another first-term Senator ever again.
Warren can certainly challenge her but she stands ZERO chance of being elected.
She's already been vetted - unlike Obama - and once her lies about her past get further publication there goes her campaign.
Since she won't be viewed as 'The One' the press won't give her a 'pass' the way they did Obama.

Do these idiots really believe we can keep deficit spending to the tune of a trillion dollars per year indefinitely?
I would not be surprised to see it. Hilary is not as strong a candidate to the younger generation as the boomers think she is.
The Clinton machine would make buffalo meat out of her.
I can't imagine going with another first-term Senator ever again.
Forward!
(I couldn't resist)
I can't imagine going with another first-term Senator ever again.
Do you really think that is Obama's greatest flaw?
@Tiger,
Warren can certainly challenge her but she stands ZERO chance of being elected.
What good progressive could possibly pass up the chance to follow up the first African American president with the first Native American president?
Benghazi Hil vs Fauxcahontas: I would pay good money to see that!
The shrieking. oh the shrieking.
One question of the banks and she's a candidate for President? Pretty damn low bar you've got there, Dems (of course, after Zero's zero qualifications, that shouldn't be surprising).
How.
How would an Elizabeth Warren candidacy differ from Michael Dukakis'? Of course, it does depend on who the Republicans have running.
Hillary may not be starting from an ideal position, she's got the toxicity of Benghazi around her as well as a political history made for a negative campaign ad, but she's still a huge star in the Democrat Party and she's been more or less anointed as their candidate after 2008. Realistically I doubt Warren has a shot.
The Clinton machine would make buffalo meat out of her.
The Clintons couldn't make mincemeat? out of a 1st term senator. A political novice produced by the most corrupt political machine in modern times.
The only thing the Clintons got going is that Elisabeth hails from Massachusetts. The people that gave us Mike Dukakis, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.
Oh NOOOOooooo.
That actually helps Elisabeth get the nomination.
We should revive Operation Chaos.
Help Hillary get the nomination.
Republicans for Hillary... Conservatives for Hillary... Stand with Hillary.
I can see Warren's appeal. It might be a good idea to have an expert in bankruptcy law in the WH by 2017.
Hillary's time has past. It's not that her political time has past, it's that she is really starting to look haggard. She is becoming the democratic version of John McCain and non-electable.
Hillary is an empty shell. The only thing that breathes life into her is the fawning pimping media.
I wonder how long and well the whole Fauxcahontas schtick will play nationally. That'll be worth the price of admission.
Please please please let them nominate her.
Lessee now, a first-term US Senator with only 4 years in office...

Ditto.

Ditto squared. She'll be the Female One.

For a minute there I thought you were going to say that Hillary is having "relations" with Bill... and I was momentarily transported back to a more innocent time, a time of nirvana when a BJ was nothing more than just another poll.

I seem to remember hearing that with regards to Obama.

No, the republican party is a complete non-factor in presidential politics.
I wonder how long and well the whole Fauxcahontas schtick will play nationally. That'll be worth the price of admission.
The electorate gave Obama a second bite at the Apple so to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this idiot was nominated and elected.
For those suggesting that Hillary couldn't destroy Warren because she couldn't destroy Barry:
Please.
You are forgetting that the media had zero interest in the black man losing. None.
Just think of how silly and ridiculous Ann sounds when she talks about race. Multiply that by 100 and you get a sense of your average political reporter's views on race. There was simply no way the black man was going to lose that election.
Speaking of race. Have you noticed the fawining praises of the new Jackie Robinson movie?
Apparently it is the best scripted, casted, directed and produced movie ever made because nobody who has seen it will utter a critical word, let alone sentence.
Gee, I wonder why?
"42" no doubt follows this template:
(1) U.S. is racist for interning Japanese- Americans and incinerating Tokyo, Hiroshima, & Nagasaki; and
(2) U.S.leaders finally allow Tuskegee airmen to win war for U.S.
So, two women, both corrupt, both Democrats, neither exhibiting competence of any sort. If either were elected I think it would be time to reconsider secession.
The Repubs should finance Warren's campaign. Since they can't field good candidates, they should poor all their money into ensuring the Dems have a terrible candidate.
"I can't imagine going with another first-term Senator ever again."
This is Althouse's developing essay called "Why I voted against Marco Rubio and voted for another incompetent Dem".
"
I was feeling pretty good until I read this.
How about a Hillary/Warren ticket ? That way they can ensure the succession.
Rubio will destroy himself with amnesty.
What Clarence Thomas said about the first black US president will undoubtedly be true of the first female US President. IOW, it ain't gonna be Liz Warren.
On the other hand, next to Elizabeth Warren, Hillary looks spontaneous sincere and genuine.
I was a bit surprised that anyone was even considering this. Warren is compromised by her pretend claim to Indian-hood. So, she is the worst of both worlds - the white person who pretended to be an American Indian in order to get affirmative action preferences. If she hadn't done so, it is likely that she would be teaching at a third level law school, if that. Certainly not at the schools that she did teach at. What else does she have to offer the American people?
And, yes, there is the problem that she has no relevant experience for being President. No long term foreign relations experience in Congress. No dealing with getting legislation passed. And, no training or experience in every having run anything larger than a campaign staff in an election where Dems probably had a 5 point advantage in a lot of these states thanks to Obama's GOTV efforts. Yes, Obama also had these deficits, and we are seeing with his total disinterest and inability in running the government how well this is working. Whenever anything goes wrong in the federal government, we keep hearing him say, "why are you asking me about this - I'm just the President. Let me go back to my golf game."
Bruce,
People don't care about. "She's a fighter!" and that is what matters.
One can only hope. That would be more fun than attending Anthony Weiner's inauguration as Mayor of NYC.
Elizabeth Warren....indeed! That's f'in hilarious. Or..should I say, Hilaryous.

(A) Not from me.
(B) People are less likely to vote for her just because she's a woman than for Obama because he's black. Regardless of the fact that women have historically been treated unfairly in some regards they weren't completely segregated from society as blacks were, plus the restrictions were lifted quicker and more completely. The dynamics are different, people don't feel as strongly.
The womyn that are exceptions are going to vote for the Dem no matter who it is.
I do think that the Dems are likely to face a bit of trouble in 2016 with Hillary! It is "her turn", and yet is their major candidate who probably has the most baggage. She is heavily damaged goods, and will be nearing 70 at that election, and has never really been attractive. How does anyone seriously run against her? Gonna be hard.
And, the thing that will likely make it even worse for any Dem running, and esp. one who worked in the Obama Administration is that he has not run the government at all well. Sure, he got his massive programs passed into law, which are just starting to hit. Likely will be in the 8th year of the Obama Recession, with little job creation, and massive real unemployment (mostly though being ignored because so many have quit looking for work), along with all the ill effects of ObamaCare and those trillion dollar deficits and added debt every year. Hillary! was smart enough to get out before it all went to pieces, but the party tag is likely to harm most anyone who runs, and she did have a piece of the Obama foreign policy mistakes. If she tries to point at her successes, all anyone needs do is point at Benghazi (along with the Arab Spring, etc.)
Hillary's problem is she will be running on Obama's record, with Obamacare "fully implemented."
Obamacare was her idea in the first place.
Renee - is a "fighter" what the country is going to want or need in 2016? Sure, the Dems might like that, but the middle? The swing voters? The people who are turned off by the constant bickering and partisanship they see in D.C.?
Imagine a debate between Warren and Hillary..
Jokes about snipers targeting Native Americans write themselves.
Since she won't be viewed as 'The One' the press won't give her a 'pass' the way they did Obama.
You don't actually believe that, do you?
Warren can certainly challenge her ...Since she won't be viewed as 'The One' the press won't give her a 'pass' the way they did Obama.
The Massachusetts media gave her a pass on the outlandish claims of being for the little guy in litigation and the manipulation of minority status to get ahead of the line for a Harvard faculty appointment. The Massachusetts bar refused to even address Warren's practicing law out of her Harvard office for years without a Mass license.
So yes, Warren is easily capable of getting the required complicity suppressing her background at the national level.
It was the Hillary campaign that first raised the Birther issue about Obama, so you know she'll go full tomahawk on Fauxcahontas on that issue. Hillary will also position herself to the left of Warren over Warren's defense of Monsanto.
Otoh, Warren can't go after Hillary on Benghazi without involving other high-power Dems. Warren's only issue will be Hillary's health, but Hillary will convince someone with worse health issues than her own to run a temporary primary campaign thus helping defuse the issue.
I think Hillary's biggest concerns would be Cuomo or a party-switch by Christie.
Is Warren that much younger? To my eye she looks close to Hillary in age. They both have hectoring, nails-on-a-blackboard voices. Hillary had some mysterious appeal to blue collar white voters - I don't think Warren does well there. Hil can fake everywomen convincingly - I don't think Fauxcahontas can pull that off.
Death by hanging vs death by shooting! Sheesh!
Clinton is only 2 years older than Granny Warren
President Fauxcahontas? Well, golly, why shouldn't we follow up our first African-American president (Sorry, Bill!) with our first Native-American* one? And her resume can't be any thinner than Obama's, and look how well he's turned out! With our economy humming along, unemployment at new lows, our national debt shrinking at an ever-faster pace and our nation more secure than ever before (other than that maniac Kim Jong Un), Obama's the best affirmative-action-hire president in our nation's history**. Why not go for another one?
* - consisting of American Indians, people who have family legends about having American Indian ancestry and people who have "high cheek bones"
** - Also the only one, which is why he is the best in the category.
Bruce,
I'd say Yes, a fighter is exactly what we need--just please one fighting on our side this time.
Please, Liz, daub on the warpaint and come out whoopin', hollerin', and fightin'!
I remember thinking there could never be a worse candidate than Hillary.
Good times.
Imagine, our first woman president could be a blonde who looks like a bunny in the headlights.
