Maybe the hacker used a fake name. The government really can't stand that.
she's a private person, unlike that publicity whore Palin. Can't you see the difference?10 years, versus, public aclaim at the MSNBC
Nine felonies, 50 celebrity accounts hacked, lighter restitution ordered and boasting, rather than remorse. Not as bad as the headline makes it seem.
I think this sentence is ridiculous.A better sentence would have been a very onerous fine and probation. What good is a long prison term here?
Scarlett's a famous and wealthy Obama supporter who's done propaganda for President Stepin Fetchit.Duh. Those types of people are a little more equal than everyone else. Enjoy the decline, bitches!
The prison term should be for stalking the non-celebrities for 10 years -- although I'm not sure what they mean by 'stalking' in this case. That should be more clear in the headline of the article (though of course that wouldn't generate clicks, and this is a Hollywood-centric article). If the person had "only" hacked in and posted the nude pics (and let me say, again, how stupid it is to take nude pics of oneself and store them electronically anywhere) of a celebritney!!!!!!, I wonder what the punishment would have been.
This is a puzzle. was it five years per breast?? The breasts were not really five year size breasts, at best 18 months breasts.Maybe because his pics were heterosexual items they had no redeeming social value to reduce his sentence.
Good thing he didn't violate the terms of his probation.
Anybody remember what the moron that hacked Miss Sarah's account got?PS I've seen the pics. She's not that great.
It's a slippery slope. While I'm extremely tolerant of those who hack nude photos of Scarlett Johannson, this sort of crime, if left unchecked could lead to the hacking of nude photos of Hillary Clinton and then where would we be.
she's a private person, unlike that publicity whore Palin. I'm pretty sure that those nude pics of Palin are photoshopped.
@edutcher, I was wondering the same thing. They kid who hacked Palin's account got one year plus one day.So it's 10 time worse to hack into the Email accounts of Hollywood celebrities than female Republican's accounts.Personally I'd have sentenced the kid to a half hour in a closed, locked room with Todd.
The prom mom was sentenced to 15 years for killing her baby at her senior prom.Served 3.Interesting to contrast the two penalties, as both crimes are in regard to sex. The man crime ("peeper!") is punished severely for infringing the woman's right to privacy. The woman crime, infanticide, is similar to "the right to privacy" so the penalties are slight.Shows you how the criminal justice system skews in a really sexist way against men. And also how you should automatically divide any criminal punishment by 5.
So it's 10 time worse to hack into the Email accounts of 50 different Hollywood celebrities than one female Republican's accountfix'd that for ya.Ain't saying ya can't be outraged about what happened to Ms. Palin...just sayin' ya didn't quite get it right when ya said it.
He should spend his time in prison sculpting a nude statue of her.
Yes it seems harsh but they also say two of his victims he stalked for ten years. Maybe there were some details there we haven't heard.
A friend of mine has suggested that it's a damned shame that so many beautiful females have never done nude scenes. It's difficult to argue against that.

Instead of the death penalty, life in prison surrounded by photos of leading Democrat women in the buff - Moochelle, Kathleen Sibelius, Big Sis, Barbara Mikulski, Helen Thomas...What does that Amendment say about cruel and unusual?
MadisonMan said... I think this sentence is ridiculous. It sure seems as if actions against important people who matter are treated differently than Joe Average.
Did anyone here see Hitchcock? Johannson barely registers in it as Janet Leigh. Yes, she's got the obvious T & A, other than that, or those, there's no there there.
Scarlett's got the best agent in Hollywood, or one of the best.Watch her early performances: vapid and bad. And she was never that great looking: curvy body, but nothing special, wide-faced.I remember watching Ghost World and wondering how they got such a bad actress to play the best friend. The dark-haired lead and Buscemi (as always),were very good, so the bad casting decision was puzzling. Now I realize her agent must have gotten her the role to shore up "indie cred." The black haired girl disappeared despite better chops. The girl's a brainless, talentless, soon-to-be-fat slut. Fuck her and her privacy. Too bad she wasn't doing a publicity stop in Newtown a few days ago.
Said the hacker, "Totally worth it!"
Judge: "...you mean he isn't the former Vice President? I've made a terrible mistake!"
20 years for photos of her that look this good?: http://drunkenstepfather.com/2011/09/14/scarlett-johansson-alleged-leaked-nude-cellphone-pics-of-the-dayThe jokester who uploaded this Halloween photo of me as a confused witch (with my husband Frank as a vampire) should get 20 years!:http://i45.tinypic.com/21myhaa.jpgAnd another 20 for this photo of me as a Bavarian bar wench bitten by a vampire!:http://i45.tinypic.com/hx0wia.jpg
@purplepenguin, point taken.
Sorry, typo -- I meant I can't believe he got 10 years for photos of her that looked that good. I still think the person who uploaded the photos of me in bad Halloween costumes should get a total of 40 years in jail.
This is a puzzle. was it five years per breast?? The breasts were not really five year size breasts, at best 18 months breasts. Not sure I could disagree more.
Not just one account, but several. Not shocked at all.I'm actually okay with this.
Nadine, I do appreciate your attention-whoring. Really I do, but show us some pics that will get us life in prison.
How can they give this guy 10 years for doing a public service. Hell, rape carries less than that. Manslaughter perhaps?
I wish someone would link to the photos in question so I could better judge this offense. Also link to naked Anne Hathaway photos so I can judge the offense in context.
Back in the late 1980s, a guy released a worm that brought down much of the Internet. He was caught. Some people thought he should be hired by computer security companies while others thought he should be punished. The late Mike Royko wrote about the case saying something to the effect of, "Rather than hire this guy and make him rich, he should be put in a jail cell with some big, hairy guy who says, 'From now on, you answer to Margaret. Come here, Margaret!"Personally, I'd like them to be boiled in oil in a public square. Have your identity stolen sometime and you'll be a lot less tolerant of those who hack into other people's computers.
Hackers, spammers, all those worthless loser shitheads should be executed. I'm sick of them. And you guys who are dissing Scarlett need to go get gay-married or something. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
