"Social issues are far down the priorities list, and I think that’s the trend."

"That’s where it needs to go if the Republican Party is going to be successful."

So say the young party members.

I'm old, and I'm not a member of any political party, but I agree.

"should stop giving money to a company" - Andy

Who sells chicken sandwiches... just like I give money to the lefty owners of New Glarus brewing because they make tasty beer.

Sometimes it's about putting out a good product and not about politics.

Sometimes people use the terms "wrong side of History" to delude themselves that there is never ever a risk to their own freedom, because they're always going to be on the "right side" of History.

There are no permanent victories for freedom. The US is far less free from my perspective than it was in my youth. I wonder what someone transported from the 1960s would think of our currency smuggling and asset forfeiture laws, not to mention secret federal court cases and the explosion of federal offenses.

And so as you can, if you look closely, see from this thread, the GOP will most certainly not back off of social issues, as per the topic of this post.

They would think--and see--what is plain fact: our representational republic is one in name only, and we are have become a de facto police state, (even if only a "soft" police state...so far).
