Cornell West is a cross between Oswald Bates and Professor Irwin Corey.
That would be great. Is autotuning hard? I'd love to learn how to do it.
Is autotuning hard? No: Antares Auto-tune. But anything other than ignoring West would be a waste of time.
Seriously.Blogging Heads. It's Christmas not Halloween. Please cease and desist.
alliteration does not equate to intelligence. If it rhymes you may still have to do the time.Cornell West is an idiot who, like the President, talks nonsense pretty.
There are few things I dislike more than the effects (and affects) of Auto-tune. Listening to Cornel West is one of them.
I want an auto tune filter that takes actual songs and eliminates the singing altogether, leaving a delightful and humorous prose poem. That would be cool.
Cornel love duh money, too. He jus' mau mauing duh flak catcher.
As they say, there's no such thing as a poor, white liberal - and people of color who hang on their coattails don't do badly, either.PS Before somebody asks, there are plenty of poor, white radicals.
West is the poster child for which? The failure or success of affirmative action?
West's style can get in the way, no doubt, but if you can get past that, this turned out to be a very informative Bloggingheads.Once again you have two professionals who have very different politics, but they can come together to find areas of agreement, and even a great friendship. They spend a good amount of time talking about the Greek educational concept of Paideia.Paideia is the cultural heritage that is continued through generations, and since self governing was important to the Greeks, they believed in educating for liberty and also about the beauty of the true human spirit. It was good stuff, and well worth the listen.
Althouse, gettin' all racisty again.
Yea. I'm sure he is worth the 58K a year tuition his students pay...
CW would blow Bed Intruder out of the water.
It sounds like you're alluding to this(I would dance to this but you know white boys can't dance.)PS It sold over a million copies. For the love of money indeed.
For those of you who loved that song here's the long version
Wow! Cornel West is authentic! Man, he's got the big 'fro and the beard and the whole nutty professor look going for him. The question is, authentically what?
OK, so I guess we all think it would be cool to "auto-tune" our own uniqueness out of the messages we present...too?
I just checked my market wallet: "Washingtons, Washingtons, Washingtons". I sure live in a different world than that professor.
Didn't he recently get beat up while trying to get in his own house? Got a beer with Obama out of it?
Ha ha...Gotta love, Althouse...cause the woman is a POKER...and now!...we can all talk about how we feel about the positive and negative aspects of gambling on our society, or we can talk about this wonderful episode of Bloggingheads that deals with society-centric-longevic education, or we can talk about Cornel West.
When did Don King get a PhD?
John;Didn't he recently get beat up while trying to get in his own house? Got a beer with Obama out of it?Wrong guy. I think you were alluding to him.Much more conservative appearance. And I've never heard him say Man
It's interesting how they look alike. Same clothes, same glasses, just different hair.
Wow! The guy is all sound-bite, and no substance.
"Wow! The guy is all sound-bite, and no substance."Heard tell his mama said he was a handful. She was right relieved to turn him over to Princeton.
Penny, My Sista, Cornel West is a douchebag.
Does Princeton have a football team?....or is there another reason to have an African Studies major?
As for his point...The Government of the United States extorts more money annually out of its target population than any entity in the history of money, next year they promise to extort more, even with theft on that scale they are short of cash, and they print the Benjamins. The Government of the United States is not a market institution yet displays greed on an unimaginable scale.
