It was after that when everyone else figured out it was impossible to live peacefully with the leftists. They had already been killing Catholic priests.

But that assassination was the trigger point. Isn't it amazing how much our leftists of today want to do that again?

Doesn't sound stupid to me. It's shrewd marketing. Viciously gleeful gloating was all over Twitter late last night. The left was really letting its most ugly freak flag fly, and engagement with any ads in proximity must have been off the charts. If you were a company selling anything that appeals to the purple-haired lesbian cat ladies, and your ads made it to the Two Minutes' Hate in time, you probably hit your 2025 target last night.

Happily, it seems to have been fake news, and even more happily, I saw a lot of normies who had their eyes opened as to the menace of these people. There can be no remaining doubt that the Left means to kill all the rest of us as soon as they can seize power, or put us in "re-education" camps. Let's make sure that when they declare that the Revolution is come, the counter-revolution allows none of them to remain within our borders.

Speaking of India. We just imposed sanctions on them for buying oil from Russia. Well, we imposed sanctions on the Modi family's precious stone cutting business. But you know what? Exxon was forced to abandon one of the largest natural gas fields in the world, in the Siberian Arctic, and guess who is stepping in to partner with Russia to develop it? India and China. That will be far more lucrative than cutting precious stones, I am guessing. Why was Exxon forced by the Biden Administration to leave Russia? Over who gets to rule over Russian speaking people in an area that was Russian in living memory. Who do we want ruling over them? Ukrainian nationalists who have outlawed the Russian language spoken by just about everybody in Ukraine, and spoken there for centuries. Zelensky had to take lessons to learn Ukrainian.

This is why we drove India into Russia's arms, and China's arms, and Russia into China's arms, etc, etc. It's stupid.

Xi Jinping to host Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi as China presents rival front to US ~ FT

“Shanghai Cooperation Organization security meeting will mark Indian PM’s first visit in 7 years”

In Tianjin’s salt‑tinged air, where cranes lean like patient herons, China lays a long table and invites the world to taste an alternative. Trump’s tariffs have shoved India off its comfortable fence, and Xi Jinping is waiting with a smile and a menu: rare earths for batteries and jets, tunnel‑boring machines for the veins of growing cities, fertilizer for the temper of households. It looks like hospitality; it smells like leverage. This is diplomacy as degustation, with the chef offering seconds while quietly buying the restaurant.

Call this gathering what it is: not a pact of blood, but a pact of invoices. A guild of supply and logistics, where the real choreography is about customs codes and currency swaps, and the polite presence of the United Nations lends a varnish of virtue. China isn’t storming out of the old house; it’s building an annex with better plumbing and inviting the neighbors to admire the fixtures. Meanwhile, the self‑styled guardians of the old order are still arguing over the wine list.

For India, the art is to tilt without toppling. Patrols may resume along that brutal sweep of Himalayan stone, but contact invites friction, and Pakistan lurks like a loose cable on a dark stair. The trade deficit yawns; the political deficit at home would yaw wider if dependency follows the discount. The prize is to take the inputs and refuse the addiction; the risk is to leave Tianjin with a splendid photo and a bill that keeps arriving. Strategy is grand, as the old bulldog taught us, but it is the invoice that clears, or does not, that counts at the end of the day.

No doubt you'll show that "Strange New Respect" for the "Elder Statesman" that Democrats always develop after a Republican is out of office and there is a new Republican in office that demands the Hitler treatment.

Prominent Democrats have compared every Republican president and presidential candidate to Hitler for eighty years. Even Eisenhower, who commanded four million men on the march to Berlin to destroy the Nazis. It's due to their almost comically desperate lust for power, but getting very tiresome.

Also, "ignorant" and "uninformed" and "not smart"? The man is a graduate of Yale Law and the best-selling author of an award-winning memoir. Your dad was a club golfer, and probably had a massive stick up his ass about the rules because the competitions were what he lived for.

My friends and I are casual golfers who have never had a lesson, joined a club, entered a competition, had a handicap, or opened the rule book. Complete and total duffers who do it for the fun and camaraderie. Minor cheating like abandoning a lost ball and playing a new one, improving our lie, or forgetting to count the tap-in stroke on a short putt is part of our game. Sometimes we don't even know we're doing it.

It seems to me Trump has a foot in both worlds, and is as happy bullshitting with friends on an informal speed round as he is when he plays in one of his clubs' organized tournaments. I would expect that he pays much closer attention to the rule book when doing the latter.

four years ago, on shamblings watch and presumably kamalas imput, thirteen marines were blown up in the disastrous kabul retreat, through abbey gate, of course the press narily touches on this,
in the Capitol, we are nearing two weeks when there hasn't been a murder, do these people smelling their own (redacted) realize this
on the other side, we have a bezerker who was doted upon priviledged by the politcal class, and he sought to slaughter more than a dozen Children, they look away at that too,

she ought to call her self veruca, like the pampered dolt of the Willy wonka tale, also not to confuse with the British born medical student, who used to frequent these haunts,

as I say I'm a fan of political fiction, ludlum forsyth*, silva till he lost the plot who inspired my own scribblings, but you have to make the story plausible

*he's bringing back odessa now called medusa, as the big threat with a ghost,

Boatbuilder at 1237 had it about right. When you own the golf course, you can play it anyway you want. Thirty odd years ago I was involved in negotiating a lease for a number of floors in a major office building in downtown Los Angeles. One of the businessmen involved had been a major player in commercial real estate for years and was quite wealthy. Let's call him "X". To celebrate closing of the deal, he decided what wanted to have a golf outing and banquet for all who had been involved in the negotiations--that was about 15 people. Some of those folks were decent golfers--most of us were hackers at best and a few wouldn't know a five iron from a frying pan.
His regular golf club (hoity toity) wouldn't countenance having that crew sully its fairways. But the fellow also owned a recently built and very nice golf course out in Ventura County. I mean some of the water hazards had waterfalls with female attendants dipping errant shots out of the water. "x" has since passed to his eternal reward. But I know how he spent his time as the "crew" made its way around the golf course. He was with us--but didn't play. He spent his time looking for lost golf balls out in the rough. At the banquet X announced that he'd found 15 golf balls and considered it a very good day. And he owned the joint!

I can only imagine how fucked up your life has been because your father taught you it was OK to cheat.

Dad didn't golf, leave him out of this.

I'm happy to be Al Czervik to your Judge Smails. Get over it.
