In the first half of 2013, a similar political group supporting a term-limited Barack Obama, Priorities USA, raised just $356,000. As of that June, it held $3.4 million, less than 2 percent of the cash on hand of Mr. Trump’s super PAC....
Mr. Trump’s aides have argued that he would be foolish not to accept money that is essentially for the taking, and that the assets can be used to target Mr. Trump’s rivals, beginning with Representative Thomas Massie.... With a $200 million war chest, MAGA Inc. figures to be a big part of Republican primaries, making Mr. Trump’s endorsements in those races all the more important....
He's not running for office again* but he is fighting to retain the ongoing power of the office he holds until January 2029. Why shouldn't he fight hard for that? Do Presidents traditionally stand back and allow the usual midterm losses to take place? Bush acknowledged a "thumping" and Obama a "shellacking." Trump isn't like that. He always fights on, no matter how tough things get. Fight. Fight. Fight. He's not going to lose the midterms just because that's the way it always goes. And he'll fight for the right successor in 2028. He's got a stake in his legacy. His opponents can never rest. It's not just going to become their turn. There's no pendulum that must, of necessity, swing their way.

Mmhmm. The fight never ends. Unlike Reagan, President Trump is going to make sure his successors aren't drones mouthing loyalty while promoting globalism.
Perhaps that should be Trump's nickname: "The Unprecedented"
The Tea Party was once described as a hostile takeover of the Republican Party. It's plain Trumpism is in the same position. Most of Trump's first term failures were related to Republicans not supporting him. He is more in control of the party this time, but it's crazy to think he can just trust in the Republican leadership to protect his priorities after he's gone.
"...some Republicans worry it could be used to beat Republicans, too."
Lisa Murkowski, specifically.
It's almost as if he's been watching the political carousel for his whole adult life and has been learning from successes and mistakes while making plans along the way.
What a buffoon, eh? He's the President now. He'll do it his way.
The Democrats have not needed such because they have the NGOs to funnel public money back to their private endeavors
What Ann said.
"There is no precedent for politicians so aggressively raising money for their own entities when they do not have a campaign to use it for."
Trump is a NYC billionaire real estate and investment tycoon who's been raising and spending investment capital literally his entire life...are these people serious?
"some Republicans worry it could be used to beat Republicans, too."
I hope so. Having an R after your name doesn't mean I am obligated to support you. TPTB aren't going to give up illegal low-wage workers and one world government just because the orange man won a couple of elections.
"In the first half of 2013, a similar political group supporting a term-limited Barack Obama, Priorities USA"..
it's Important to Remember, there is NO comparison between the 2.
ANY THING the democrats do, is not just fine.. it is GOOD!
ANY THING that Trump does, is not just Bad.. it is EVIL!!!!!
"Perhaps that should be Trump's nickname: "The Unprecedented""
Mr. Unprecedented. Does have a ring to it.
You must stand strong to withstand the lefty Quimbies on the left… politicians, Deep State and the Fifth Column… the Media.
Some "Republicans" should, indeed, be worried.
There are some Republicans that deserve to be beaten, at the polls or otherwise.
Please, use it against Cornyn and Crenshaw in the primary.
Theodore Schleifer is apparently such an ignoramus he's never heard of the Clinton Family Foundation.
Which means he's too worthless to pay attention to
Well the NYT commentariat does not disappoint:
1. “Get it through your head. We are in a dictatorship. Trump is never leaving.”
2. “he's not making over the White House to resemble Mar-a Lago because he plans to leave...”
3. “trump is dangerous, no doubt.
If he runs again then so can Obama.
Obama 2028”
"Some Republicans fear it might be used to defeat Republicans, too."
That's because these very same "some Republicans" are actually Democrats. Part of political gamesmanship is very similar to spycraft. The very first thing you want to do is plant embeds on the other side's team and it's your side's responsibility to root them out.
He's got the dough to prep the battlespace for the last two years of his term. Not that there is anything wrong with running promising young Republican types against Democrat geezers and or making it hard for aging Rinos to get reelected.
The article has this line: "Some of Mr. Trump’s most loyal supporters have argued that he should try to run for a third term, despite it being unconstitutional."
Lefty loonies keep waiting -- hoping! -- for Trump to do something really egregious that can justify their characterization of him as an "autocrat." It hasn't happened despite extra-legal efforts by federal District Court justices and Deep Staters to goad him. He is responding by grooming his successor, which is what a good CEO does in any business but which is totally foreign to the thinking of academics and other such idiots that populate the Left.
Is that even that much money though? They spent $370 million in '02 on Fetterman/Oz alone.
Reminder: Trump will also blow this money on wackado TV personalities (Dr. Oz), pedos (Roy Moore) and wackjob former athletes (Hershel Walker).
Trump electoral track record is pathetic. He brags about "winning primaries." That's like bragging about your performance in a scrimmage. It doesn't mean shit if you can will when it counts. Trump helps losers win primaries and helps democrats get elected in the general.
I actually don't mind Fetterman though. He might be the best Senator Trump helped elect.
Maybe Republicans who worry about Trump's war chest should consider pushing Trump's agenda through congress - then they would not have to worry.
This furthers my theory that Trump/MAGA is actually a third political party, running campaigns against both D's and R(INO)'s.
"Some of Mr. Trump’s most loyal supporters have argued that he should try to run for a third term, despite it being unconstitutional."
He should take a page from the Dem playbook and forum shop to find an obscure District Court judge who will enter a nationwide injunction against the Constitution.

The Unprecedented of the United States (uPOTUS).
Obama for America become Organizing for America.

Republicans need more money than Democrats because they need to offset the press and the NGOs. Not to mention the components of the government that work against Republicans.
Is this another "Trump violates the norms" article?
In Trump's first term, he was opposed by all of the Democrats and half of the Republicans. It wasn't just Democrats that were riding America's decline.
Establishment Republicans are supposed to worry. Trump will get them primaried. I thought Trump has said as much.
Trump is the flawed figurehead of a movement committed to avoiding civil war by protecting the nation from the madness of the left. The madness is typified by open borders, seditious opposition to deportations, men bullying women in sporting events, antisemitism on campuses and Trump Derangement Syndrome. The latter, of course is the excuse for having unforgivably imposed a demented President on us and for corrupting law enforcement and the courts. The movement, however, will not support another term for Trump.
...other Republicans are comforted by the knowledge that it can be used to beat "Republicans," too.
"Some Republicans" are always talking to the MSM and giving them the quotes they want. Wonder why "Some Republicans" don't allow their names to be used.
There a lot of "Some Republicans" in the US Senate, and they need to be primaried. Too many of them are sabotaging Trump while pretending to support him. Trump is still waiting for over 100 appointees to be confirmed. These same "Some Republicans" had no trouble fast-tracking Biden's appointees, no matter how far-left.
I do agree with D.D. (!?) that $3.4 Million is not a lot of political money.
I don't agree with the rest.
The best punishment for Obama's dastardly deeds, against Trump first term, as revealed by Tulsi Gabbard, would be to elect Trump for a 3rd term.
OOOhhhh Donald Trump is raising money and it's a threat to Our Democracy !
Now do Act Blue.
(I'm a Donald Trump voter, and I approve this message)
Lindsay Graham, John Cornyn, Lisa Murkowski hardest hit.
Where can I donate?
"some Republicans worry it could be used to beat Republicans, too."
I hope so. Having an R after your name doesn't mean I am obligated to support you.
Trump told everybody what he wanted to do in his campaign and based on the results of the election, voters are on board. If you're an R and are not supporting the will of the voters, you need to be replaced.
Too many politicians think "my seat" and stop thinking about who they're supposed to be working for once they're elected. As well, too many R's are actually D's who need to start being honest about it but they won't because they know they can't win unless they lie about what they really stand for.
There is always a campaign to finance, always a person to influence, a cause to push. Soros never sleeps. Neither does Trump.
"There is no precedent for politicians so aggressively raising money for their own entities when they do not have a campaign to use it for."
How is that different from the DNC or RNC? Or Soros or Koch or Adelaon or Media Matters?
Funny how i rarely hear about "Some Democrats" criticizing Schumer, Jefferies, or Biden, unless its to proclaim they're not fighting the Republicans and Rightwing hard enough.
Ahem.
Trump has already won three presidential elections.
But he was only sworn-in for two.
Past time we primaried some of these RINOs in deep red states.
How many Republicans in deep blue states run as Democrats?
California Democrats are worried. Despite having firm control of the state with a super majority in the legislature, and holding ALL Constitutional offices, Newsom is pushing for a special election to ask voters to enable redistricting, to make it a super duper majority, using what Texas is doing with redistricting as an excuse.
Trump’s record with down ballot candidate selection is terrible. How does the GOP lose three Senate races in two years in Georgia? Ask genius Trump.
The current campaign season started in 2015.
If Dems win either chamber of Congress it will be two years of endless investigations and congressional blockage of everything Trump wants to do. It’s no wonder he wants to do everything he can to maintain the Republican majorities.
He should run for Mayor of NYC!!!
