Isn't it interesting that the corporate media is so incurious about the motivations of the Butler shooter as well the guy in Las Vegas.
Everybody there is responsible. You're supposed to look around.
How many in the Secret Service have been fired? I recall that the director quit.
Imagine that Zapruder had caught the limo driver in Dallas racing Kennedy to the hospital at 2 miles per hour.
Donald Trump's Secret Service detail didn't even spin their tires on the gravel driving away from his shooting.
Then they passed the nearest hospital and took him to one miles away.
Nothing quoted is anything but acknowledging the obvious. Agents around the President did not seem to be aware of the shooter that spectators were pointing out. None of the agents near the building seemed to be doing a thing to secure the situation. What is new is a few people are finally being held accountable for the biggest mistake in that agency’s history in decades. As they should be held accountable for a botched security detail.
painted a picture of an inadequate security detail that was suspiciously left in the dark as an assassination attempt unfolded.
"How many in the Secret Service have been fired?"
Nobody has been fired. The director retired and has a full pension.
More importantly, the FBI sniper, who had Crooks in his scope sites the entire time and allowed him to get off 8 shots - killing one, injuring 3 others and successfully shooting Donald Trump in the head - also has not been fired.
The FBI agent who took a hose to the site the next day - destroying all forensic evidence - has also not been fired.

From Yahoo on Thursday:
"The Secret Service suspended six agents after completing its review of the attempt on President Donald Trump’s life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last year.
"The six agents, whose names were not released publicly by the agency due to privacy laws, were suspended without pay for a range of 10 to 42 days, the agency said in a statement. The agency said the agents were suspended following an “official disciplinary review process” and were placed “on restricted duty or into non-operational positions.”"
“the repeated denial of extra security assets at a time when the former president faced heightened threats on his life..”
Who might that be that denied Trump extra security assets? Would that be Joe Biden’s autopen brigade?
Conspiracy? Nah, couldn’t be.
Your original post, “TRUMP SHOT”, was chilling, and the first clear indication that he had actually been shot that I saw. Everywhere else seemed to be describing it as just some sort of incident, with it unclear if Trump had been harmed or was just reacting to a loud noise.
The comment at the bottom of that screenshot is disgusting and evil.
The Summary on the findings on the Senate website:
-USSS denied multiple requests for additional staff, assets, and resources to protect President Trump during the campaign.
-USSS did not fire a single person involved in the planning and execution of the Butler rally. USSS formally disciplined only six personnel, some of whom received their disciplinary decision as recently as July 2025. In two instances, the final disciplinary decision was a reduced punishment from what was originally recommended.
-Former Director Kimberly Cheatle falsely testified to Congress that no USSS asset requests were denied for the Butler rally.
-Despite USSS leadership receiving an intelligence briefing regarding the protectee and authorizing counter snipers at all of President Trump’s outdoor rallies a day prior, counter snipers were not present at the July 9, Doral campaign rally.
-There were ill-defined responsibilities for USSS agents serving in advance roles.
-USSS agents failed to communicate crucial information regarding the suspicious individual to President Trump’s shift detail, which had the ability to prevent him from taking the stage.
-Pertinent threat intelligence related to the protectee was not shared with USSS agents in charge of security at the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally.
-There was a severe lack of coordination and communication between USSS and state and local law enforcement from the advance process through the event.

Wow! Serious discipline!
Think of the discipline if Trump would have been killed.
I’ve seen people fired for much less.
Its obvious that Biden and his lackey's were completely uninterested in making sure the ex-POTUS was adequately protected. If he got assassinated, well...
After all Joe "Gosh he's such a great guy" Biden wanted to put trump in jail - for the rest of Trump's life.
The Secret Service just needs better messaging.
So we're supposed to be talking about Epstein but not about this? Or we shouldn't be talking about Epstein and should be talking about this? I'm glad Althouse talks about all of it.
One thing I've noticed - most of the available pictures of the shooter are school photos taken some time around 2019, when he was about 14 years old. That's when Epstein left this mortal coil. Are we sure this kid didn't kill Epstein because Epstein pimped out his middle school crush?
It is a whitewash. These people are all incompetent.
Trump has failed to take any significant steps to actually clean up the FBI and the SS even after they clearly tried to kill him.
I do not understand how he can be so soft.
The Report doesn't seem to identify another problem. There were lots of "inexperienced" SS agents because under Biden they'd been purging male agents, especially the white ones, and hiring women and underrepresented minorities.

The only discipline that was handed out was for the failure to kill Trump.
At this point it should be obvious the FBI and the SS tried to get him killed.
William Bushey poster is either the real deal (a 60 year old arrested last year for killing his sister and nephew) or a sock puppet. Either way, they are a sick person.
The things that bother me about the Butler shooting the most are not that there was a successful shot taken at the President - there is no such thing as perfect security.
It's that:
- The shooter was broadly seen and identified by random people on the ground for >10 minutes beforehand, pointed out, flagged.
- The shooter was highly visible to the unassisted eye and was floppy, jerky motions and a rifle in hand on top of one only elevated shooting platforms in the entire area. A shooting platform with close, direct line of sight to the president and that had no law enforcement or protective presence on it.
- The shooter got off MANY shots before being terminated.
- The S.S. covered the President but then left him in place and THEN let him get fully exposed without any assurance there wasn't a second or third shooter. How many violations is that?
- The S.S. worked hard to scrub evidence immediately, including destruction of all recordings.
This whole thing deserves firings and major institutional changes. This was at minimum an embarrassment of epic proportions. And yet....here we are.
Motive unknown.
Is Trump really being soft, Achilles? He can't fight every battle he can't destroy every bastion of power and influence. Taking on the bankster hedge fund espionage complex is a tall task. Look how quickly his Hired guns at Justice and the FBI have completely melted under the heat of the Epstein files. After running a gauntlet of impeachment criminal and civil trials, Trump kept going because he knew legions of people like you were behind him. He has survived a couple of very serious and nearly successful assassination attempts. Perhaps you need to expand your concept of the strength of the underlying Star Chamber power structure that is controlling the monetary system of the world. I don't think Trump is being soft at all I think he recognizes that his power and influence is very limited and he wishes to be able to carry out his full term and potentially his legacy via the election of JD Vance and or Marco Rubio after him.

I seem to remember that one of the explanations for such an inexperienced SS detail being assigned to Trump had to do with competing events that day, in the area. The First Lady Biden had a public appearance that drew a large contingent, or something.
They say you shouldn't ascribe to malice things that are better ascribed to stupidity. However, it is possible to be both incompetent and malicious. I wonder if the SS has about the same level of Democratic Party donations and sympathies as some other government agencies?.....The people who reviewed and punished the agency for its failure apparently has. There are no scapegoats only slapped hands......On the plus side, wasn't that second attempt foiled due to the diligence of a SS agents.

I am still behind him. The full connotations of my statement were more along the respect lines than the denigration of his actions. He is probably handling this better than I would have.
I probably would have had the 81st take up blocking positions throughout DC with several regular army divisions giving me a perimeter and had JSOC going through all of the major agencies by now.
But he cannot let these people go free. There must be arrests and there must be executions at some point. The Epstein files handling is going to cause massive problems because we clearly see pedos and pederatst child fuckers getting off because they are rich.
Trump will do this the "soft" way and start arresting people or we will elect Pinochet at some point. They have spilled too much blood for this to pass quietly.
Imagine we are in the run-up to the midterm elections. Now imagine every Democrat starts running a commercial that starts like this:
"Donald Trump is protecting the Epstein pedophiles. He must be stopped."
That is going to be a powerful message that is going to resonate with voters. And it's going to now happen.
It won't matter if it's a true statement or not. That is simply the politics of it. Trump is GIVING the House to the Democrats.

We will see. I have heard this all before. It would fit Trump's MO and I give it high probability of being true.
But you don't get to go down this road halfway.
30% of the country is an enemy of the Republic. If Trump wants long term peace in this country Obama has to go to jail with his co-conspirators.
Trump will have to make Obama claim "Official Acts as President"
The Deep State digs in deeper.
Trump the 'burden".
Abortive ideation.
Planned Presidenthood... despite excellent performance, there are the rare survivors.
"Failed to prevent" or
"Let happen."
Sad so many Democrats are willing to publicly wish death on Trump and his voters. And commit it to writing. It completely validates everything the pro-life movement has been saying about progressives since '72. Too bad the evil death-cult half has taken over their Party.
Motivation? What motivation? Who needs motivation? Plenty guys would do it, just to do it. Shits, giggles etc.
All the SS has to do is just step back, slow walking, lighten up a little.
It won't matter if it's a true statement or not. That is simply the politics of it. Trump is GIVING the House to the Democrats.
To paraphrase that great moral philosopher Don Rickles - we all know you're a great political analyst, you've told us this many, many times.
Though it does explain why they fight so hard to keep murderers, rapists, child-traffickers, pedophiles and mentally ill autogynophilic people in the country walking free and in the best cases in close proximity to vulnerable children. And start wars. Defund cops. Etc.
Never forget, Mr.D, that “when Trump took office in January 2024…”
Hey FLC, I’m imagining a world without FLC!

More like planned, groomed, equipped, sabotaged, and facilitated.
Moving on from the comments, an expansive security detail that was erroneously left in the dark as an assassination attempt unfolded is masterpiece in passive voice obfuscation. Truly remarkable to find such a journalistic rarity!
Let's look at the adjective:
"Expansive" obscures the fact Trump's detail was smaller than usual that day and staffed with newbies some of whom had only 1 hour of training for their assignment that day.
Adverb: "Erroneously" is only there to introduce the idea of some unidentified "error" must lie at fault here. Its presence literally makes no sense in this tiny excerpt I quoted.
"Left in the dark" is the most misleading of all and quite audacious for the editors to let slide given the widely available user-supplied phone videos of the shooter, taken by dozens of citizens who all reported the gunman to the cops on the ground, all of whom now say they passed the messages up to the agent in charge. Those videos are all over TV.
Yesterday I saw the spokesman for the Secret Service union claim, "You have to understand that we get 'guy who looks suspicious' and 'guy with a gun' claims every time we deploy and we have to decide which are credible. We can't just pull the president off the stage. "
Fair enough but law enforcement who were there testified they reported the gunman to SS an hour before Trump ever arrived.
Democrat Party members make it very easy to despise them. They really deserve great bodily harm.
I think there was a deliberate plan in the Biden Administration to hamstring Trump's security. I think this plan was designed to make an assassination attempt more likely to succeed or force Trump to stop holding the big open-air rallies. Trump was foolish, in my opinion, to rely on the Secret Service so heavily. The ironic thing is the policy plan backfired on the Democrats.

Tar and feathers. Or out on a rail. Or both -- really served a valuable function. I would propose Nancy Pelosi for the first revival of the tradition. But there are so many in line for the honor. Maybe Obama beats out Nancy. Active office holders get preference, though.
Someone said that the SS should not have let him stand up. I can understand that. He has been shot at once, keep him under cover.
For any normal person.
But if he had not been seen standing, in fine fettle, pissed off, shouting "Fight, Fight, Fight" we might never have seen him alive again.
If the SS was in on the plot, dubious but possible, he might have been hustled off on a stretcher into an ambulance and died on the way to the hospital. "Gee, it looked like it only nicked his ear but the shock wave burst a blood vessel causing am embolism and despite our heroic efforts we could not save him. I am sure the world mourns our loss with us."
I FULLY support his getting up and showing himself to be in good health and spirit.
John Henry
It'd be nice if people can understand the difference between "a plot" and deliberate negligence. Biden and his SS lackey simply weren't interested in keeping Trump safe. They gave him the minimum SS coverage they could. They denied RFK jnr any SS protection. They were extremely interested in Mrs. Biden being protected. Her SS detail was many times bigger then Trump's.
This is obvious. And it wasn't a "Plot". No one got together in a smokey room. They didn't have to. Someone passed the word to the SS chick who was the head of agency. Who was a leftwing Democrat. And that was that.
BTW, if in 2017 or 2018 anyone had asserted there was a "Conspiracy" between the Hillary campaign, the head of the CIA, and Obama to make up a false spy dossier to smear Trump as "Colluding with Russia", you would've been called a nut. But that was the truth.
And people in the 1940s, were dismissed as "fascists and rightwing loonies" for suggesting FDR's white house was riddled with communists. But that was the truth.
You can’t fire a guy for failing to sprinkle enough sugar on the shit sandwich you gave him. The line agents in Butler were working with the resources and doctrine DC gave them. Achilles will say he could have locked up that site as a spec-4 without a tab, but that overlooks two things: law enforcement is not the Army, and even in the military guys got locked up for accomplishing their mission while violating the rules of engagement. Haditha 8, the captain that got a silver star and a court martial for the same engagement in AFG, LTC West, Chief Gallagher, etc.
I recall a hearing where a senator screamed at the USSS Director, “who are you going to fire for not giving you interoperable radios?”
I was wishing the director would have said “how about you, senator? Every year we come to congress asking for exactly that, and every year we get blown off.”
Also, local cops are type A prima Donna’s. They’re doing stuff for free, and if you look at them crossed, their chief complains to your SAIC. The same guys complaining that the USSS never told them to do anything would be complaining that the USSS micromanaged them.
The USSS, and the USG as a whole, needs to get back to mission-first. But that starts from the top, not with blaming the guys at the bottom for not doing a push-up with ten tons of crap on their backs.

I do not want women on the front lines in combat.
I do not want men in ladies sports.
And I especially do not want women on the front lines of protecting the president
"Then they passed the nearest hospital and took him to one miles away."
They knew he wasn't seriously injured and it might well have been the smart thing to not go to the nearest hospital if you don't know how many are involved in the assassination attempt.
Also, people screaming at you about a guy on the roof is not as cut and dried as you think. Every site has traffic like that - nearly all of them false positives. Along with all the other stuff involved in managing a secure site - the donut guy shows up late (that’s a security issue - what if al quaeda killed the real donut guy?), someone’s got heatstroke in the crowd, you’re trying to get a situation report to the limo which is in the middle of bumfuck Pennsatucky with no radio or phone signal.
And as we have seen, DC made the strategic decision to give the site fewer resources: so even the most experienced, ingenious agents are overburdened. Kind of like cockpit resource management.
Finally, it was still the Biden admin. Every LEO there suffered from hesitation because the penalty for being wrong is much much more than the reward for being right. And you were even likely to get penalized for being right.

@ Kai Akker
Your skepticism is fully justified and shared.
What's most unexplained and damning is what was done after the event. The destruction of evidence nd coverup including this report.
On one hand you had the Secret Service, run by the Biden Administration, providing poor security for Donald Trump. On the other hand you had the democrats railing that Trump was a fascist and the greatest threat since Adolf Hitler. These matters were not unrelated.
It would be a mistake to liquidate people when they perform up to expectation given resources and leadership, and demonstrate a potential and desire to excel.

Solomon addresses that question in the video. He said something about tying the conspiracy charges to the search of Mar-a-lago and bringing the charges in FL. I was a little distracted when I watched it so I don't recall exactly what he said.
I really don't trust Pam Bondi not to make a hash of a Russiagate prosecution.
Release the Cheatle files now!
I'm not saying there was a conspiracy to kill Trump, but I do wonder 1) why CNN was livestreaming this one Trump rally, 2) why Biden stayed in the presidential race until after the assassination attempt failed, and 3) why Jill Biden pulled so many secret service agents away from Trump's rally for her banquet in the area.

The roof that Crooks posted up on was 125 meters away from the President with obvious clear line of sight. It has clear lines of sight on major points of access. It was the most obvious over watch position in the history of over watch positions.
I am also saying that there were people inside the building that Crooks used to fire from that was the most obvious over watch position ever.
They were in rooms that had windows looking right at the spot where crooks posted up that was the most obvious over watch position ever.
They took pictures of him from inside the building from windows in the same area of the building as those windows looking at where Crooks posted up in the most obvious over watch position ever.
People saw Crooks running a drone over the area for hours before the event.
People were pointing at Crooks when he was climbing onto the building that was the most obvious over watch position in the history of over watch positions for minutes before he shot while people were inside the building with windows that clearly viewed where he was climbing and shooting from.
This was not incompetence.
And when I say people were in that building Secret Service was in that building with windows that could see everything Crooks was doing and they took pictures of him in different places from those windows.

It really is hard to look at that and not see malice.
@Achilles - I agree that the photos taken by the folks inside the building were incredibly damning. The explanation that reflects the best on the SS is that they assumed that Crooks was one of their own, either SS or local LEO. I actually think that remains the most likely explanation, but it also is blatant incompetence.
3) why Jill Biden pulled so many secret service agents away from Trump's rally for her banquet in the area.
Wasn't her trip to PA the same day somewhat short notice? I think I remember reading that she had not planned on going, then changed her mind, leaving the Secret Service little time to reorganize assignments. I'd like to know if her decision to go was solely hers or if someone pushed her to go.
There is no greater indictment against so many of our fellow neighbors than the WaPo comments section.

Anyone who thinks Trump should have been put in jail for doing what every single person in the New York Real Estate market does is included in that 30%. The executions are reserved for the people who committed treason and sedition. That would be Barrack Obama, John Brennan, James Clapper, Comey and a bunch of other people who clearly committed treason and sedition.
People who believe in censorship, political violence, assassination, and supporting illegal foreign invasions like you should be kicked out of the country. Go live in Mexico or anywhere else really.
Now if you participate in these actions you should be arrested and if convicted put in jail then kicked out.
There was a garage door remote sitting next to Crooks' dead body (you could see it in the Daily Mail photos), presumably to trigger the explosives in his vehicle that we've stopped hearing about. That particular brand of garage door opener comes with at least two remotes. What happened to the second remote?
My suspicion is that if Mr. Crooks had survived shooting Trump, he would not have survived driving away even if he himself decided not to trigger the explosives.
(By the way, garage door openers were the preferred means of triggering IEDs in Iraq. The Iraqi's doing that were usually being directed by Iranian intelligence).
I hit "Publish" too soon.
My point is not that I think Iranian Intelligence was behind the Trump assassination attempt, but that someone might have wanted it to seem that Iranian Intelligence was behind the assassination attempt. There were lots of reports floating around that seem like deliberate leaks that Iran had "teams" of assassins in the U.S. seeking revenge for Soleimani's killing.
My hunch is that if Crooks had succeeded, there would suddenly have been red herrings leading to Iran.
(Killing two birds with one stone and all that...)
People who believe in censorship, political violence, assassination, and supporting illegal foreign invasions like you should be kicked out of the country.

I have been called a lot of things on this blog. Some of them are true, the vast majority of them are not. Nazi, I believe, is a new one.
Your definition of Nazi is ridiculous. I think such a term is more appropriate for someone who sees 30% of the country as "enemies of the Republic" than me.
so kimberly cheatle who was on dick cheney's security detail, who deemed trump, an enemy of the state in so many words, is brought in from pepsico right before the maralago raid
they set up the perimeter rules, at butler, stripped the security detail of the most capable agents, because of the perfunctory rally for jill biden
the detail was slow ill trained they didn't know the location of the nearest hospital in this one horse town,
this was inspite of the chatter about an revolutionary guard sourced hit team, they did relent with a counter sniper element
but crooks was not bobby lee swagger or leroy gibbs, he was a kid with an unobstructed line of site on the target, imagine if there was another sniper in line of site with the limo, they would have been sitting ducks,
that suggests conspiracy before the fact, how the secret service agents acted with feigned outrage and deflection is conspiracy after the fact,
the possums excel at doing very little and speaking at great length,
"Then they passed the nearest hospital and took him to one miles away."
Either first hospital would not accept Trump's health insurance, or ER was full of illegals
When ever my self-esteem suffers, I look at the commenters at the WaPOSt and I always feel soooooooo much better about my life.

they are stark raving mad, but if you fed this diet of mind arson, one wouldn't be very sane,
Trump haters don't understand what a shit show the US would be in if Trump had been killed in Butler. Given the circumstances no Trump supporter would believe that the government was not involved. Nationwide work stoppages would be the least of the reaction. Martial law would have needed to be declared, which would have been seen as prove that the Feds were planning tyranny. Then things would get really interesting.

That makes you the definition of a National Socialist.
I have been called a lot of things on this blog. Some of them are true, the vast majority of them are not. Nazi, I believe, is a new one.
Your definition of Nazi is ridiculous. I think such a term is more appropriate for someone who sees 30% of the country as "enemies of the Republic" than me.
Your problem Freder is it is right there.
You can't argue with the definition.
You can't argue with what you have done and what you supported. BLM made Krystalnicht look like weak sauce. More jews have been attacked by democrats in Democrat bastions of power than the Germans did in the early 30's.
It is all documented and inarguable. About the same 30% number of Germans burned and looted and attacked their political opponents and colluded with the biggest corporations in Germany for about 10 years just like you guys did and they installed the 3rd Reich.
Nothing you people did is new. You aren't that bright.
maybe that was the whole point, a catalytic event that would bring the machinery of state against the real enemy from their point of view,
the scenario apriori looks like the scene in De lillo's Libra, the subtler of the tales re Nov 22, another player steps into the frame,
"Then they passed the nearest hospital and took him to one miles away."
The Secret Service did evacuate former President Donald Trump to the nearest hospital—Butler Memorial Hospital, located about 6 miles away. There are 2 other hospitals in the area about 35 miles away.
add to that the perpetrators of the J20 riots, which included poisoning of delegates, setting fire to limos on conneticut avenue, not only had their charges dropped but their records expunged, that was prologue to events in june 2020 in DC
