Can't understand the haircut? It's Maude Frickert!

I'm seeing Scott Adams assert "I can't get past the haircut."

He's looking at this: I'm seeing Maude Frickert:

Sorry about the sexism! I just wanted you to see the wig Jonathan Winters wore back in the 1960s.

Dip Brock in honey and place him on a fire anthill and let those little bastards run riot ALL over his pudgy body.

That's not a wig on Brock, ann.

It’s remarkable how many institutions on the Left, but not the Right, are “on the brink of collapse” now that the USAID gravy train is derailed and dozens of other streams of government largesse are drying up.

We taxpayers have been paying the bills for scum like Brooks to beat the drum for our own enslavement and oppression by the leftist enemies of humanity. Let’s finish the job of their utter destruction. Total war on every organ of the Left.

Hassayamper said...

BROCK, not Brooks.

I did a Google Images search - apparently that is his real hair, not a wig. Who'd a thunk?

I am seeing a cheap Founding Fathers' wig from a foundering mall costume store. Or maybe an English barrister from same store.

I strongly suspect DOGE is the ultimate source of Media Matters' sudden financial problems- people like Soros always prefer to give away government money rather than their own.

Brock's expose of the Anita Hill hoax was good reading. What happened to him after that has me befuddled.

Thanks. I've fixed it

In the interest of completeness, Brock's hairdo needs a man-bun at the back.

On recent visits to the DC area, I've noticed some very feminine hair cuts on middle-aged and older men. Bangs and stuff like that. Not just weird, but kind of frumpy. Not sure if this is a DC thing or a wide spread urban thing.

In the nether sticks where I live, our hair isn't nearly so fancy, though some of my granddaughter's early teen male friends have silly perms.

how much was media matters receiving from USAID?
apparently enough for the loss to bankrupt them

Brock looks as though he was born in the wrong century.

Yeah, I'm so old I can remember when David Brock was a darling of the conservatives. I even bought and read his book "The Real Anita Hill." It was a well researched and written book, and I still have it. Too bad he went completely off the rails.

Quaestor said...

"Sorry about the sexism?"

What sexism? ...Oh, that... I thought it was empiricism.

Aggie said...

.."Brock's expose of the Anita Hill hoax was good reading. What happened to him after that has me befuddled...."

It's very simple. The Progressives offered him more money, and their beliefs were a better fit for someone of his personality type.

Cornwallis didn't attend the surrender. He stayed in his tent, allegedly indisposed.

There used to be a store in Winchester, VA, that sold those kind of wigs. It's been around ten years since we were there, so I don't know if it's still open.

When I saw that picture the first few times, I thought it was fake, AI generated, because no man in their right mind would go out in public looking like that, let alone be on a show broadcast to the public.

dbp said...

I don't know what happened to Brock. His writing was sharp and hilarious back in The American Spectator days.
I assume Hillary & Co. got to him somehow. The life has gone out of him.

JZ said...

No need to apologize for the sexism. It’s quaint.

Carson adopted the Maude Frickert character as Aunt Blabby. I wonder if Jonathan Winters said anything to him about it. Carson also adopted Art Fern's Tea Time Movie from Jackie Gleason, and Carnac from Steve Allen's Question Man. Although it's possible the Merv Griffin based Jeopardy on the Question Man, as well.

JAORE said...

Yikes. This is the first time I can recall where I think someone would look better with a man bun.

@MadTownGuy, do you remember the name or anything about the location? I live south of Winchester and could try to look it up.

Some men love the Barbara Bush look. Funny stuff by J. Winters. Always at his best playing a character.

Whatever "happened" to David brock happened 25-30 years ago. He never was on Team Conservative - he only pretended to be on our side, so he could get noticed and hired by Team Left.

David Brock was just a latter day Gary Wills.

It was the Colonial Wig Room, walking distance from the street mall in Old Town Winchester.

They still do, only now it's meth and they drug and they rob people while doing it-just like Cardi B, whom Vox, MediaMatters, Vulture, Buzzfeed, and all the other USAID grift funded smear merchants wrote adoringly about.

@MadTownGuy, yup. Still open, about a block off the Winchester Old Town walking mall. Says something about needing an appointment.

It’s a little surprising because in this corner of Virginia Civil War reenactment is vastly more popular than Colonial/ Revolutionary War reenactment. That’s a bit more south and east.

That hair. I am a Benny Hill fan, but I do not get my hair styled after the parody's they do.

Brock is everything that's wrong with politics, but you can't overestimate his media savvy. Here we all are just talking about his hair, not what he did.
