So just a recap, we were told that it’s impossible to restructure global trade without triggering a recession. We were told that military recruitment is never gonna go up and we just have to deal with it. We were told that in order for the border to be fixed we need to pass comprehensive immigration reform and spend like $17 billion dollars. We were told that NATO countries would never agree to pay 5% of their GDP.

And yet here we are not even a year to the Trump presidency, and every single one of those things that we were told couldn’t happen happened.

It’s really hard to make the argument that the people in charge before weren’t trying to screw up this country when you see the kind of results that we are seeing now.; 7/29/25, 7:40 PM

On Monday, the Georgia representative shared an X post admonishing Florida Rep. Randy Fines – who has made a habit of sharing derogatory posts about Palestinians and recently cheered on reports of people starving to death amid Israel's assault on Gaza.
MTG rebuked his remarks and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.
"It's the most truthful and easiest thing to say that [the October 7 Hamas attacks] in Israel was horrific, and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza," MTG wrote.
"But a Jewish US Representative calling for the continued starvation of innocent people and children is disgraceful. His awful statement will actually cause more antisemitism," she added.
Greene has consistently pushed her "America First" ideals, arguing that the US should not be funding wars overseas or sending foreign aid while there are significant problems at home that need to be addressed.
.Her remarks on Israel also stand in opposition to the vast majority of the Republican Party and Trump's MAGA base, which have overwhelmingly supported his efforts in regard to Israel.
Israel's mass killing of Palestinians in Gaza has been deemed a genocide by numerous legal experts, scholars of genocide, and human rights groups. Jimmy said...: about 623 here on maui. Tsunami due about 710. All roads from Lahaina, west side, are parking lots. roads from Kihei to Kahului, parking lots. Oprahs road is supposedly still closed, it goes from Kihei Wailea to Kula. but it's only a one lane road, so won't help much.
Honolulu is in slightly better shape- more roads lead out
Maui only has a few roads-If they opened the old cane roads, people could be led out by people who know how to drive them, and use them too get to higher ground.
The one electric plant is about 1/2 mile from the ocean , so if we actually get a tsunami, we are without power on the entire island.
Last time we had a tsunami expected was almost 40 years ago, roads were all one lane. I gave up trying to get out of Kahului, and luckily it never hit.
If there is a tsunami, it will be brutally efficient at killing lots of people. Thousands are sitting in traffic, there is no coordinated assistance- traffic lights are still working, they could open the opposing lanes to people fleeing.
