I remember Tiger Beat. My mom put cork board on my sister’s and my closet doors so we could hang the magazine posters without damaging the walls. I went from Bobby Sherman to the DeFranco Family. I never really liked the Osmonds.
This election in NYC has me very worried. It’s fine to say they deserve it but the majority of the people who live there really don’t. And the ones who do, they won’t bear the brunt of the pain that’s going to be inflicted if this guy wins. Why don’t Democrats take control of their party? Andrew Cuomo? They ran Andrew Cuomo as a candidate. And why did they kick out Adams? Why not give Adams the support he needed to stay in the party? There are the crazies in the Party and then there are the semi reasonable ones who have such TDS that they’d rather have Zohran than someone who sided with Trump on one or two issues.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe has put out a statement at odds with Trump on Iran's nuclear sites. Ratcliffe says they have intelligence suggesting that the sites have only been "severely damaged."
Not obliterated, as Trump falsely claimed.
After an early look at what occurred it is estimated to be a bunch of TAX PAYERS $$$ .BIBI had this planned all along because he knows only trump had the weapons needed to inflict whatever damage they did(obliteration I think is a swing a little far)This is the early take.The operation—dubbed Midnight Hammer—involved over 125 aircraft, including seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, and used approximately 75 precision-guided weapons, including 14 GBU-57 “bunker buster” bombs.
According to The Pricer, the direct military cost of the June 21 strikes is estimated at $581 million, with a broader 12-day precision bombing campaign reaching $5 billion. This includes flight-hour costs, munitions, electronic warfare support, and logistics. Additional costs like missile stockpile replenishment and extended carrier group deployments pushed the total even higher. I believe Iran will play along and in secret speed up making a "dirty weapon nuke" to start as they fire the nuclear commission and trump says no need to watch them ,war is over they are obliterated. CIA Director Ratcliffe said that the CIA intelligence he has seen that we have not, suggests that the Iranian nuclear sites could be rebuilt within 2 years (according to his statement.) This would be before Trump would even be out of office. He would still be President in 2 years.
So, according to Ratcliffe (if you believe the CIA Director), Trump is falsely exaggerating the success of this mission, which would be natural, since Trump exaggerates the success of everything ELSE he does also, even when he is failing.
That is the difference between being merely damaged ... and being obliterated.
And now Maynard would like to have a word with whoever "Chuck" is.
According to Maynard:
1) Trump doesn't know how bad the damage is, so he cannot truthfully characterize it as being "obliterated."

Just to clarify, in case anyone think's I'm on that list of people: I do not believe that Trump has obliterated Iran's nuclear capabilities.
I believe that Trump should drop nuclear weapons on Tehran's nuclear sites and make holes large enough to drop every single Iranian in them and still have room for a six-foot cement cover to install over them.
I WANT Trump to completely destroy Iran's sites in exactly the same way that we did to Japan in World War II.
Trump is claiming falsely that he's done that.
He hasn't. And that is unconscionable.

Who speaks for the Islamic Republic of Iran? The Supreme Leader is doing a Biden, as far as we know, and the military leadership has been decapitated. Maybe some of our commenters would volunteer for that role, being more aware than any of us of the conditions on the ground (or below ground).
There is no inconsistency with saying Iran's nuclear program could be completely destroyed and saying it might be pushed back 2 years. The Manhatten project was started in August of 1942 and the first Trinity test detonating the first bomb was in July 1945, less then 3 years later. Considering they designed the bomb from nothing with 1940's technology I would think the task would be easier now for a sufficiently motivated country.

Okay, you lucked out… I’m spent.
Having a lovely time in Door County, where the temps are about 40 degrees cooler than back home. We did put up with a couple of days of 90s (with 120% humidity) but that’s behind us. Enjoying a bike ride every day. Fine supper-club dining, and of course nary a chain establishment in sight. Looking forward to morning coffee at the Not Starbucks.

The indictment comes after a federal judge ruled last week that there was enough evidence to move forward with a hate crime case against Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45. The indictment, which was unsealed on June 25, accuses Soliman of attacking members of "Run for Their Lives," a group advocating for the release of the hostages held in Gaza since the assault on Israel by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.
The indictment said a handwritten document was recovered from the vehicle driven by Soliman. According to the indictment, the document stated, "Zionism is our enemies untill [sic] Jerusalem is liberated and they are expelled from our land," and also described Israel as a "cancer entity."

@Eva Marie, Adams is still on the ballot. People can vote for him in the fall. If they care about their city, that is. If they don’t care, then why ask anyone else to care?
Trumps arms reaching, smiling sweetly, toward Iran. Iranians are smart people. If Trump keeps talking to them they may start undercutting China on steel production.
Iran is like the weird aunt that no one talks too. Offer them some capital investment to keep the kids happy and the mullahs would love it.
I have to admit that I get a big kick out of this back-and-forth bullshit concerning the Iran attack. Iran is done regardless of the damage done. All that’s left is to see how hard and how long Israel kicks the carcass.

Mandami doesn't strike me as all that radical. Take his proposal to make public transportation "free." To keep things simple, say that fares currently pay about 25% of the cost of public transportation,and the other 75% is paid by government. Mandami's proposal would shift the current 25/75 split to 0/100. That's not that big a difference.

Jonathan Turley: Supreme Court could soon give Trump 'enormous' victory in battle with left-wing judges
"A looming Supreme Court decision on nationwide injunctions could have "enormous" impacts on the Trump administration, George Washington University law professor and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley said Tuesday.
The high court is poised to decide on the practice that can currently halt executive branch policies affecting the entire country.
Conservatives have argued that injunctions have been strategically sought in left-wing jurisdictions as a strategy to frustrate the Trump administration's agenda on immigration enforcement and deportations.
"It's going to be an enormous decision potentially," Turley shared with "Fox & Friends," noting that a decision may come on Thursday.
"For the administration in the immigration areas, as well as other areas, the court could very well say, 'Enough. We're not going to have individual judges freezing the entire United States government on critical programs like this."
Turley said that many of the injunctions are brought in "favorable" jurisdictions in front of "favorable" judges who issue the injunctions to stop the president's policies in their tracks."

‘Operation Dragon-Eye’: 60 ‘critically missing’ children located in most successful operation
"TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—The United States Marshals Service partnered with multiple federal, state, and local government agencies to conduct the most successful missing child recovery operation in U.S. Marshals Service history.
Operation Dragon-Eye was a two-week initiative designed to recover or safely locate the most critically missing youth across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties, USMS said.
60 critically missing children were recovered or safely located in part of the operation.
“The unique part of this operation was the fact that underaged critically missing children ranging from age 9 to 17 were not only recovered but were debriefed and provided with physical and psychological care. This operation further included follow-up assistance in hopes that these youth will not return back to the streets to be further victimized,” William Berger, United States Marshal, Middle District of Florida said.
According to USMS, “critically missing” children are those who are at risk of crimes of violence or those with other elevated risk factors like substance abuse, sexual exploitation, crime exposure, or domestic violence.
“Operation Dragon Eye was much more than a U.S. Marshals Service operation; it was a community initiative,” said U.S. Marshals Service Deputy in Charge Mario Price. This operation had three primary objectives: recover critically missing youth, provide them with essential services including appropriate placement, and to deter bad actors exploiting missing child vulnerabilities."

If public transportation is made "free" (meaning that everyone who pays taxes pays for it in advance regardless of how much or little it is used), it will rapidly become completely unusable because drug-addicts, bums, the mentally ill, and predators will LIVE on the "public" transportation, forcing out the normal, working-class people who need to use it to get to work.
And soon after most people have stopped using public transportation because it is dangerous, foul-smelling, broken and unreliable, the city government will start spending money to try to "encourage" (i.e., force) people to use the public transportation that they stopped using, and they'll do this by a combination of deliberately making things worse for drivers--useless bike lanes, congestion pricing, elimination of parking, restrictions on vans and ride-sharing--and blowing tax money on advertising campaigns.
In the '90s through 2012 or so I would never even think about using anything other than the subway in Manhattan because it was so much faster and easier than dealing with surface roads. Now I walk past a station entrance and think: "how much urine do I want to smell today, and how much crazy ranting and mumbling do I want to hear?" and often just blow the money on an Uber. In February the C train on a Saturday afternoon was as gross as the subways were back in the late '70s.
