Turnout in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

I'm just watching what rolls in on my search on X for "wisconsin turnout." It's being said that high turnout favors Schimel (the Trump-endorsed candidate), and I'm seeing a lot of Schimel-oriented gloating about turnout on my plainly neutral search.

Sample tweets: "The first turnout numbers in Wisconsin indicate we could see an incredible 35% increase in turnout over the 2023 State Supreme Court race. That's +650K raw votes"/"Large voter turnout in our Wisconsin small community"/"I was number 123 at 10:00 a.m. this morning and are very rural small town in Central Wisconsin population 400. my sister voted at 8:00 a.m. at the same place and she was 25 so pretty good turnout for our little area."

Publicised high turnout for one side may motivate other side to vote, while encouraging "winning" side to stay home.

I keep hearing about how much money is being spent on this election but I am only seeing/hearing Crawford ads. Where is the Schimel money going?

My theory: its all being spent on phonebanks and direct-to-voter communication. The Schimel campaign knows every single person that signed Elon's petition will vote Schimel they just need to make sure they do. Why waste any money on a stupid radio ad that will do absolutely nothing? That's not how elections even work any more.

The Dems created the "Get Out the Vote" ballot harvesting with free subway sandwiches, and Elon just blew them out of the water with his million sweepstakes.

I take it this is the first referendum on Trump’s agenda? Depending on the outcome that’s how the media is going to report it.

Lem Vibe Banditory said...

Maybe Trump should’ve been out there himself, instead of sending Musk.

My ward was at >50% turnout by 1. I assume that's a lot of votes for Crawford.

It is remarkable how the lower-propensity voters these days are strongly conservative, in a major switch from the days of my youth. By my lights, it's prima facie evidence of fraud.

The Dems long ago picked all the low hanging fruit with respect to turnout of actual live eligible voters, thanks to the Soros billions (which is proving to actually be our money embezzled by leftist NGOs connected to the Soros/Arabella octopus.)

The Democrats expect us to believe that urban districts full of the most lazy, disorderly, dysfunctional citizens in the country routinely turn out to vote at 95% or greater rates.

They expect us to believe that the Dominion machines increase speed and accuracy of vote counting, rather than showing the Democrats who hasn't cast a vote yet, so votes can be manufactured in their names with pre-printed counterfeit ballots late on Election Day, or in some states, for a week or more afterwards.`

They expect us to believe that illiterate Third World peasants the Dems illegally ushered into the country in their teeming millions, and handed drivers' licenses and Social Security cards, are not being illegally registered to vote and then having their illegal mail-in ballots illegally collected and illegally filled out by Democrat ward heelers in return for illegal inducements of a six-pack of beer or a few packs of cigarettes.

Let's destroy this criminal conspiracy masking itself as a political party, deport their illegal alien stooges en masse, and institute mandatory public hanging for vote fraud.

We voted this morning! Despite the horrible conditions from the ice storm. Our power just came back on. I am a bit worried about turnout in the north woods because of the storm . Took me a few hours to clear the trees from my driveway yesterday- it is a quarter mile long but still there are a lot of trees down and roads that are closed.

Hassayamper, there is an article at "The Liberal Patriot" saying exactly that, that higher turnout now favors Republicans/conservatives in contrast to the situation that has previously held as long as I have been alive (> 70 yrs). These guys are definitely not conservative but have been sounding the alarm for a while now about the implosion of the Democrats. Started by Ruy Teixeira who wrote "The Emerging Democratic Majority" in 2002 that foreshadowed Obama.

How many dead people and ineligible live people have to vote for Crawford to win?

gilbar said...

as i understand it, Some areas in Milwaukee will have turnover at well over 7,600%
Good LUCK beating THAT, Trumpsters!

Wait until the final votes are cast early tomorrow.

hawkeyedjb said...

Big turnout. I take back my prediction of a 55-45 Crawford victory. Make it 54-46.

gilbar said...

i listened to NPR's 4pm All Things Considered news,
which had a thing on this election.
according to THEM, people are voting for Schimel BECAUSE of Musk's money
according to THEM, people are voting for Crawford BECAUSE of Anger at Trump

According to THEM.. Those were THE ONLY TWO REASONS
There is HUGE money in the race, which (according to THEM) is ONLY on the Schimel side..
I guess (according to THEM), Crawford's ads are being placed for FREE

Yancey Ward said...

I would be surprised if the GOP won this one. Trump isn't on the ballot which means a lot of Schimel support simply won't show up to vote.

gilbar said...

so, basically;
most of the people in Wisconsin will be voting for Schimel
and most of the vote count will be for Crawford

Nebraska Begley (sic?) keeps saying How Terrible judge elections are.
It seems to ME, that what's REALLY terrible are Fraudulent judge elections

William50 said...

My wife and I did in person early voting on the 19th of last month. We went in around 10 am and were surprised that we were the only ones. Last November we early voted and there was a waiting line.

No gloating please.

They start counting absentee ballots after they find out how many they need. We may not find out who won until tomorrow.

As a general rule, people posting about how big turnout is at their precinct is complete garbage.

FL is different, because you can get the actual numbers from the precincts since they report every hour how many people have voted.

That said, the Decision Desk people came out and said "we're looking at 2.5 million votes total even current trends", and I hope they're right.

mikee said...

Here in Texas I get a sticker if I vote early that reads, "I Voted Early!" And if I vote on election day, I get a sticker that reads, "Yo Vote'!" I kid you not. Did you get a sticker for voting in your far northern state, Althouse? And was it an affirmation in English?

I've been offered $250 for calling on behalf of Crawford; $100 for signing a petition about judges; a chance to win a million dollars; $20 and then $50 for being a "precinct captain" which had something to do with $20 or $50 for each picture I send in of me next to somebody and both of us looking at a Brad Schimle poster or something like that. I'm not attending closely. I voted early since that what we are supposed to do now but I think the practice should illegal. I studied the people in line with me closely, looking for signs that they were from Chicago and cheating somehow. Chicago people are loud and pushy but the people I was in line with were just standing there. I have no idea how this election will turn out, though I do think the results will tell us something. Whther it will be support for Trump or How To Do 21st Century Cheating, I have no idea.

US Supreme Court's heard Wisconsin Supreme Court case concerning Catholic Charities, and schooled Wisconsin's progressive judge-ladies in constitutional law. Apparently in Wisconsin, per Supreme Court, progressive-woke politics governs court decisions. Not US federal law. Not Wisconsin statutes. So why add yet another progressive-democrat activist to Wisconsin's top court? We're already sufficiently embarrassed. UW Madison and Marquette law schools should retract their diplomas from our lady judges.

I saw a bunch of tweets telling people to stay in line if their precinct has run out of ballots. My prediction is that whoever loses will blame it on the ballot shortage and people not having the time to wait for more to be delivered.

Already losing by a lot, Aggie. Its like your claims are based on how you already know the election is lost and need to compensate.

It looks like Voter ID and Crawford are going to win. There will be a suit against the Voter ID law. Is there any doubt as to how Crawford will rule on that case?

Just like USAID money was going to Democrat causes before Trump stopped giving democrats taxpayer money right Mark?

Mark is not concerned about people using money to manipulate elections. Mark is mad that Musk is honestly and openly supporting issues.

Because Mark has to lie about what he supports and he has to lie about where the money to support democrats comes from.

"People" are only voting for Crawford because they are having ballots filled out for them behind boarded up windows in Milwaukee.

Oh sorry those are "absentee" ballots.

If absentee and mail in voting is eliminated and voter is required in person to vote Democrats do not get near 45% in Wisconsin and we all know why.

Democrats cannot win without voter fraud. Period.

Seems like it also should.

I look forward to the RICO cases.

Voter ID has 70% support in this country. Voter ID and transparent elections are the end of the Democrat party.

We know why you want mail in voting Mark. Everyone knows why you want mail in voting and oppose voter ID requirements.

I would be interested in two things. Who stayed home (and why)…and who switched from Trump vote in November to a Democrat vote on Special Elections (and why).

Achilles said...

Crawford spent over 50 million dollars to win this election.
80% of that money came from out of state.

We know why the billionaires and globalists want Crawford. They want to make sure that elections can be bought with mail in voting and out of state money.

But the leftists want to pretend Musk was trying to buy it with less than 5 million dollars openly and honestly campaigning.

They are dishonest about everything. Inga is just a terrible dishonest liar. They cannot be honest about why they wanted this judge and where the millions and millions of dollars came in to support her.

Achilles said...

The left openly sabotaged the people who showed up in person to vote. Multiple counties ran out of ballots for in person voting. This is a joke.

We know why democrats do not like in person voting and why they want mail in voting.

There are not that many people that will actually vote for them. They cannot have honest transparent elections.

I'm getting a kick out of people - on both sides - making such a big deal about one, off-year election for a state supreme court seat.

Let's check back in October of 2026 to see how things stand.

If Trump's policies have taken hold, this race won't matter. If Trump's policies haven't worked? Same thing.

I'm betting on the former simply because they've worked in the past.

wildswan said...

Crawford won in Dane County (Madison) and the counties right around there and in Milwaukee. They gave her the margin of victory.
Photo ID won and won big because it won in Milwaukee and only lost in Dane County (where Madison, the capital is) and an adjacent bedroom county and a few others.
So the election isn't quite as clear as it might seem. Dem power is concentrated in the cities and yet our largest city went for Photo ID, an issue Dems oppose. Why Milwaukee went for both Photo ID and Crawford - I couldn't say. It might be a sort of omen, a cloud the size of a man's hand over there on the horion.

Inga said...

“Speaking to more than 1,000 people Sunday, Musk said one of the reasons he’s gotten involved in the race is because a new state Supreme Court could redraw Wisconsin’s congressional maps at a time when Republicans have a razor-thin majority in the House of Representatives. He said the race could have major implications for the future of “America and the world.”
“Whichever party controls the House to a significant degree controls the country, which then steers the course of Western civilization. I feel like this is one of those things that may not seem that it’s going to affect the entire destiny of humanity, but I think it will,” Musk told the crowd.”

Wisconsin elections have had Photo ID Since 2011. I’m fine with it now being enshrined in Wisconsin’s Constitution.

Again, control of the House will be determined by Trump's success or failure.

If he's successful, he'll most likely expand the margins in the House. If he's not, he'll lose the House and put the Senate in jeopardy.

A lot can happen between now and October, '26.

In deep red Florida, roughly a 20-point swing to Democrats.
