Maybe the real problem is that Trump’s peace negotiations are very harmful to Ukraine. This is playing out exactly as predicted. Putin is refusing to concede anything and Trump is responding to Russian intransigence by mercilessly bullying Ukraine into surrender.
America’s motives are completely opaque and the US policy position is completely incoherent. If Trump has his way, Russia will pause, regroup and devour Ukraine.
