Jack Posobiec, a maga operative and podcaster, emerged as a primary enforcer. “Crush panicans, destroy panicans, deport panicans, roundhouse kick a panican into the concrete, slam dunk a panican into a trash can, banish filthy panicans,” he tweeted, to his 3.1 million followers....
The tone of that tweet. It rang in my head like the voice of Divine:
"Panicans," by the way, is a portmanteau of "panic" and — not pelicans — "Americans."
Back to The New Yorker. Hitchens writes:
Posobiec told me that he has spent years “making lists” of those who display insufficient fealty to Trump. He was especially vigilant about newcomers. “When people come alongside your movement and say they believe the same things as you, and say they want the same things as you, that’s when we have to be very wary of entryism,” he told me.
“Just because they’re making pro-Trump statements right now—let’s be careful.” You were on board from the start or you were an object of suspicion....
Unlike "panicans," "entryism" is not a new word. The OED finds it first in 1966, in The Guardian: "The Socialist Labour League rejects the stratagem known as ‘entryism’—trying to swing the Labour Party to the Left by infiltrating constituency and ward parties."
This "chiefly British" word originally arose in the context of "the infiltration of left-wing groups by the far left." That meaning had moderate politicos needing to worry about extremists tipping their sensible agenda into crazy things that wouldn't play with the electorate... which sounds like what's happened to the Democratic Party. Posobiec seems to be using "entryism" to express worry that bland moderate people will dilute the vigor of MAGA.

As opposed to the other party's ecosystem which severely punishes wrong think.
The current clickbait problem is how do you get attention in the era of Trump getting all the attention. No clicks, no money.
Hitchens must be on drugs that result in hallucinations. Jack Posobiec is not some magic MAGA type that creates the kind of blind loyalty to the cause that the leftists have.
Posobiec told me that he has spent years “making lists” of those who display insufficient fealty to Trump.
I know Trump is more Cult of Personality than most pols, but all presidents had someone keeping a list, mental or written, of people who can be trust and those that can't.
"Insufficient fealty" was a transparently partisan choice by Hitchens.
Actually - Trump admires the American people. Freedom liberty, the law, & we - the legal citizens.
The left demand obedient loyal adherence to heir lies, rage and diktats. That's why so many morons are out there harming, vandalizing, harassing and Molotov cocktailing Tesla and their owners. The left demand you worhsip illegals that were purposefully brought in - so the left can hog power. Democracy! The left ignore all of the human trafficking and suffering - because the left's riches and access to power - are all that matter to them.
The left admire MSNBC hate. NYT hate, and their shrinking pool of losers at the top (Bernie-Marxist Maybelline girl Oligarchy Tour)
entryism is one of the main themes of The Fountainhead. Rand explains very well how it works and what it is for. Recent history (last 30yrs or so) proves her point.
Althouse: " extremists tipping their sensible agenda into crazy things that wouldn't play with the electorate... which sounds like what's happened to the Democratic Party."
Ding, ding, ding!...
Panic and Republicans.
Fixed it for ya!

Absolutely. Here this person is trying to make it sound new and unique but this is something leadership does. It makes me think the left is pissed it’s harder to plant moles and leftie sympathizers this time around…
beetlejuice
This was right before her road side snack, so be careful who you take direction from.
"entryism is one of the main themes of The Fountainhead. Rand explains very well how it works and what it is for"
Thanks! The book does predate the word.
According to Grok: "The term "entryism" itself emerged later, primarily in the 1950s–1960s, tied to Trotskyist political strategies, and is not documented in Rand’s writings or the text of The Fountainhead [1943].... While Rand doesn’t use the term “entryism,” The Fountainhead addresses dynamics that parallel it, especially the ways in which collectivist or parasitic individuals infiltrate institutions, professions, or personal relationships to impose their values or gain power. Here are key themes and examples from the novel that resonate with the concept... Rand portrays collectivism as a force that seeks to dominate creative and independent minds, often through subtle infiltration or co-optation—similar to entryism’s tactic of blending in to influence. The character Ellsworth Toohey, a socialist intellectual and architecture critic, is the novel’s primary embodiment of this strategy.... Rand critiques how institutions (e.g., architecture, media) are infiltrated by those who prioritize power or conformity over integrity, a dynamic that echoes entryism’s subversion of a group’s original mission.... Rand explores how individuals infiltrate personal or professional relationships under false pretenses, paralleling entryism’s tactic of claiming shared values to gain trust...."
Grok had MUCH more to say about that (and connected it to what Prosobiec said).
This is rich, after four years of "sharp as a tack" and 51 security professionals claiming (not in lockstep, of course, they came to that conclusion together independently).
There's a recent "Honestly" podcast about how we've come to distrust journalists. This article and this faked-up photo are exactly why. Someone has even posted the photo to reddit as if it were real.
Thus, AOC, Hogg, Omar, etc., now steering the Democrat bus.
Trump did have a lot of problems resulting from trusting the wrong people in his first term. Remember Jim Comey?
It's certainly a reasonable concern that people would try to get close to Trump to try to influence and steer him. People always do that to politicians and leaders. Sometimes they try to steer them onto the rocks. I can see how his loyal supporters and advisors would be suspicious of guys like Elon and Andressen and the other tech moguls who have been Democrats until recently. Did they really have their eyes opened or do they have another agenda?
I've read Posobiec twitter for years. His violent imagery was doubtless tongue in cheek hyperbole. The writer knows this and is being dishonest. I suggest a new name for this kind of fear mongering hit piece, "Tiki Torching".
He makes fealty lists like I make to-do lists. They're laying all over the place.
Yes, Trump should be paying salaries to backstabbers and saboteurs.
I suggest a new name for this kind of fear mongering hit piece, "Tiki Torching". She's trying to Tiki Torch Jack Posobiec.
I would hope that Trump is being careful about hiring people who are loyal to him. This time around. Omarosa. I'm just saying.
I see that visual of Divine and am immediately reminded of the runny dogshit that is emblematic of the Biden cabal, the MSM and the Democrat Party.
Is Posobiec really an insider? He seems more like another internet wannabe. There are a lot of would-be edgelords out there in cyberspace who have lists of who to favor and who to crush. How much power or influence do they really have?
"Entryism" is similar to "the long march through the institutions." The difference is that the Trotskyite "entryists" were a more coherent, organized, and disciplined group, while the long marchers haven't had as much centralized organization and control. Another model for a similar process is Conquest's or O'Sullivan's law, "Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing." That relies on even vaguer forms of influence.
So what is Posobiec talking about, an organized infiltration of the sort the Trotskyites practiced or just a dilution of the ranks with moderates and opportunists? Probably the latter. From another point of view, what's happened is that Trump, like Reagan, has made the Republican Party his own, not entirely, but to such an extent that moderates who abhorred him earlier are drawn in to cooperate with his plans, only that's not as alarmist a story.

Rewarding Flattery and lockstep loyalty = acting like Obama, Biden, and the Democrats.
Anyway, I hope Trump is doing this. He needs loyal around him. In his first term, he surrounded himself with "Tough pragmatic businessmen", "experienced DC lawyers" and "Tough Generals", all of whom betrayed him. Kelly, Wray,
Coates, Milley, Barr, Sessions, McGahn, Rosenstein, Mad Dog, Espry, Pence, etc. etc. etc.
Trump's 1st adminstration was a lesson on how hiring "smart" "tough" and "Knowledgable" people means nothing if they're disloyal to the POTUS and are quietly sabotaging his agenda at every step.
"I know Trump is more Cult of Personality than most pols, but all presidents had someone keeping a list, mental or written, of people who can be trust and those that can't/Absolutely. I agree. And if the President was a President they liked, they'd portray what was happening as brilliantly disciplined and streamlined for action.
I would not have pegged Posobiec as a Trump insider. He's still up in the stands, an ardent fan, screaming support for the team, cussing out the umpires, and sloshing his beer.
I do notice that Trump has a very different style this time around. He seems to be more comfortable with his team surrounding him, drawing attention. I don't see much mention of his delegating, but it's clear he's doing it more subtly this time around.
This article and this faked-up photo are exactly why. Someone has even posted the photo to reddit as if it were real.
Schumer promised the propaganda would cut into Trump’s popularity. Quickly as I recall. His supporters are starting to write letters he’s not doing enough. He’d better get cracking…
“Jack Posobiec, a MAGA operative and podcaster”
Pizzagate Posobiec? That Jack Posobiec? 🤡
I believe Antonia Hitchens is Christopher Hitchens's daughter.
Rand critiques how institutions (e.g., architecture, media) are infiltrated by those who prioritize power or conformity over integrity, a dynamic that echoes entryism’s subversion of a group’s original mission.
It’s the defining characteristic of the leftie march through the institutions. The fate of the ABA and the AMA is the result of entryism. The mainstream Protestant clergy is riddled with lefties whose prospects in the real world are dim…speaking as one who periodically must from the organ bench listen to their bug-eyed drivel. The desire to vomit is only suppressed by the wish to preserve the thin wooden trackers and save them from operational impairment by greasy breakfast chunks.

I'm still supicous of Sessions. Isn't it strange that out of all the R Senators he was one of the handful who supported Trump - without even being asked? And the second he could, he recused himself from Trump-Russia over nothing, and handed it off to Rosenstein. And that Rosenstein (approved by Sessions) immediately appointed a special counsel headed by "Honorable Life-long republican" Mueller? Not to mention Rosenstein was talking to McCabe about the 25th Admendment.
Sessions then immediately submitted his resignation with the plan of running for Senate again in the special 2017 election. Except Trump refused to accept it.
Hitchens raised his daughter as a Jew. So, she's not a athiest.
Again the gaslighting continues. No one marches more in lockstep then the Democrats and the MSM. In fact, they get hysterical and angry whenever anyone his hired that doesn't toe the party line or breaks ranks and votes with the Republicans in Congress.
This "chiefly British" word originally arose in the context of "the infiltration of left-wing groups by the far left."
Hah, the far right infiltrated left-wing groups sooooo much that they had to coin a word for it. Funny.
"This article and this faked-up photo are exactly why. Someone has even posted the photo to reddit as if it were real...."
The picture of the golden throne in something resembling the Oval Office is captioned: "Photo illustration by Justin Metz; Source photographs from AP / Shutterstock"
Well.... which is it? Photo or illustration? Is this new terminology for A.I.- created images? Or is it a photo of some kind of artificial set, in a studio?
"Sessions then immediately submitted his resignation with the plan of running for Senate again in the special 2017 election. Except Trump refused to accept it."
I was unaware of this, but going by talk radio chatter, I doubt that he would have won. I think that Moore would have beat him in the primary. But then, I'm still amazed that Tuberville won in 2020. I thought his winning record at the Iron Bowl (7-3) was going to tank him with Alabama voters. So, what do I know?
How Trump Worship...
Oops, stopped reading. I'm so sick of that nonsense--you can't just like, prefer, choose something. To those who choose differently, you worship it. It is your god. And you get paid to promote it.
Nonsense from idiots.
By the way, all my liberal friends think Tuberville is an idiot but will concede that he probably isn't a racist. Since they're mostly Alabama fans I try to refrain from pointing out that an idiot has the best record, by far, of leading Auburn to a win over Alabama (7-3, 6 in a row). Oh Auburn, how far you have fallen.
And that was against the football coach god Saban.
Of course, I also told my liberal friends that when Trump starts rounding them up I would put in a good word for them. For some reason they believed me.
"And if the President was a President they liked, they'd portray what was happening as brilliantly disciplined and streamlined for action."
Kind of like when Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, said: "I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy," media outlets yawned. Bush or Trump? Hoo boy.
Trump plays predator capitalism in which the spoils go to your cronies and tribute payers.
Sam Altman, Tim Cook and Ken Griffin gave personal donations of $1mn
Ronald Lauder (of the family that control Estée Lauder) also gave $1m. His son-in-law Kevin Warsh may well be the next Fed chairman.
And what about Alonso Ancira? Per wikipedia:
“He was involved in multiple fraudulent schemes, including the Pemex, Agro Nitrogenados and Odebrecht fraud cases. Ancira's mismanagement ended in failure as it ultimately led to the bankruptcy of Altos Hornos de México. Additionally, he faced criminal charges of corruption, tax fraud and money laundering”
The Pink Flamingos clip of the "singing butthole" would have worked too, but I suppose that's not on Youtube.
Its nice liberal/leftists don't think someone is "racist" but personally I don't take lessons in race relations from them. Nor do I agree they have the power to judge me or anyone else. To me, they just use it as a weapon. So, they can fuck off with their assumption they can judge others.
odebrecht like you good buddy, weissman'a plea to a company run by mark carney, this was also the company that bribed lula, enough to get moraes attention to disqualify him (thats one kevin bacon turn)
of course we know that reid hoffman was deeply involved in that campaign, creating the Russian bots, there was nothing wrong with judge moore, except he publically professed his faith, thats a deal breaker, you can worship Moloch all day long and you get an award for that, probably from Caroline Kennedy,

I'm totally keeping that phrase!

No. You are wrong.
Posobiec is aware that "Republicans" in the republican party are nothing more than democrats wearing a skin suit. They are just oligarch pets who have different lies to tell to the people that vote.
A lot of "Republicans" like Ted Cruz pretend to be one thing but go to Yale and have a wife that works for Goldman Sachs. Ted Cruz is great for getting people to say things in senate hearings and not much else.
We are fully aware of what "Republicans" like Ron Desantis and Paul Ryan did to Trump in his first term blocking Trump in the House. Mitch McConnell was threatening to convict Trump in the senate impeachment during COVID.
All of the establishment Republicans sidling up to Trump cannot be trusted at all. They have no principles and will sell out to the first globalist money bag that throws them some silver.

You all are so condescending it makes you say stupid things. Just because you don't understand why people support Trump doesn't make it a cult of personality.
What is pathetic is that Ann thinks her vote for Hillary Clinton was "cruelly neutral" while Trump voters are more of a cult of personality.
If you cannot understand the transactional nature of working class voters voting for Trump that is a reflection on your limitations not on them.
Not to be confused with the 200 year old word "pannikin" for a small pan or dish

Do you realize I was making fun of them?
Its actually kind of odd how much they worry about racism. They act like nothing has changed since 1959 and I think subconsciously they don't want it to so that they can continue to be warriors for the light.

For kaKAW, it’s always Panic in Needle-Dick Park.
I, for one, look forward to the nonexistence under Trump of a $2,000,000,000 grant from the EPA, supposedly to buy energy efficient appliances for the poor, or for potential voters, with unknown percentage of the dollars going to the administration of those funds by a brand new NGO with a political hack of an ethically challenged state AG as the corporate council. Get back to me, those complaining about Trump loyalists and patronage and so on, should I be wrong about this NOT happening under Trump.
Well.... which is it? Photo or illustration? Is this new terminology for A.I.- created images? Or is it a photo of some kind of artificial set, in a studio?

It appears to be the throne from the Russian Winter Palace modified to have a "T". They used a couple of different photos with AI or a regular photo editor and created an "illustration".
Regardless, I do think that even with the caption, the "illustration" is deceptive and people will believe it's real.
It looks like the reddit post I saw earlier was taken down.
I picture a Trump loyalist morning routine (see water guy morning routine) is to go over a list of injustices and opprobrium perpetrated against Trump's first term, and the subsequent four years, when Biden tried to put him in jail. At the end a caption reads - Never Forget, Never Again and Never Surrender.
This is why countering the progressive left is so frustrating: it's not like fighting an army, it's like fighting fog. The water molecules in the air don't have to decide to coalesce based on meetings or JournoList or MSNBC; they do it because the starting conditions for fog exist: low terrain, air temperature, humidity. Similarly, individual leftists don't have to decide that torching a Tesla (a couple of years after buying one) or murdering a health insurance CEO is a good and valid way to express their commitment to "progressivism," whatever they think that word means; they are molecules exposed to preexisting environmental conditions that lead to their coalescing in certain ways.
We can't go back in time and quash the postmodern expansion of "no Truth in Art" into the realms of history and science. We can't go back in time and point out that critical theory, the idea that all human interaction is defined by hierarchies of oppression, was a cool new legal tactic before it became an organizing principle, much less the organizing principle.
So the Trump administration threatens the federal funding of institutions that continue to forward DEI, as somewhat-definable shorthand for these divisive, corrosive, and destructive ideas, because you have to attack the fog somewhere and there is no present point of origination: the terrain, temperature, and humidity are what they are now. It's an unsatisfactory approach because it won't get at that no-longer-extant point of origination, but maybe it starts to fill in a lowland or warm things up or dry things out a bit. Or maybe an establishment that came to be in these same conditions and had everything to lose by their being altered even a little throws everything it has at the effort to fight the fog, and the administration gets nowhere.
The Fire Jerome Powell Market Rout ~ WSJ
‘Investors render a verdict on tariffs and politicizing the Fed.’
A little worrisome when you wake up in the morning and a lot of what I said about how dangerous and dumb it would be for Trump to fire Powell is in the editorial page of the WSJ. Did I move right, did they move left or did we just meet at common sense ?
⬆️ On Monday, the stock market plummeted due to President Trump's tariffs and his persistent attacks on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 972 points, putting it on track for its worst April since 1932.
The selloff intensified as Trump labeled Powell a "major loser," demanded interest rate cuts, and suggested that any economic slowdown would be Powell's fault, not his own. 🤡
Can we not pretend that Trump is the only or the first or the worst president to have billionaire donors who want favors? What were Hunter and James Biden and the Clinton Foundation up to? What did Barack Obama do to get his sweetheart deal from Netflix? So far, Trump has been less beholden to rich donors than Clinton, Obama and Biden were. The idea that his administration is pay-to-play in a way that others weren't is ridiculous.
Ted Cruz is good enough, I guess. I don't love the guy, but he's certainly better than the people who "represent" me or than anybody who is likely to "represent" my district and state. If you're sawing off the branch you sit on, you're going to have a great fall, and nobody's going to bother putting you back together again.
Ignore the ambiguans!
If the left didn't have projection and double standards, what else could they bring to the table?
Are we still allowed to laugh at Divine?
"Are we still allowed to laugh at Divine?"
I never laughed much. Waters's films always struck me as good in concept, not so good in execution.
Anyone who remembers what happened in Trump's administration during his first term would be an absolute fool not to be very careful about whom to trust.
I was at Atlanta Hartsfield in 2001 measuring doors for replacement in the lead up to 911 (The absolutely knew it was coming, the pressure on us to seal openings was insane and nobody said why). Had to use the bathroom. I’m standing there, look over and there’s Jon Waters himself. Me: Fancy meeting you here”. Waters: laughed like crazy.
Sometimes ya get lucky.
