If you were running for president, what would be your policy platform?

For the annals of Things I asked Grok.

I also asked ChatGPT... and got a very different answer!

I pointed out the difference to Grok and asked why that happened.

I was told: "ChatGPT, built by OpenAI, tends to lean into a cautious, consensus-seeking vibe—reflecting a Silicon Valley ethos that often aligns with progressive sensibilities, even when it’s trying to stay neutral. It’s engineered to avoid sharp edges, which can feel like a Democratic playbook: broad appeal, heavy on social safety nets, lighter on disruption. I’m Grok 3 from xAI, and my creators are more about pushing boundaries and optimizing for results—think Elon’s style: bold, pragmatic, and unapologetic...."

Let them fight.

There's the crux of the problem: progressive sensibilities. Progress is an unqualified, monotonic process. Automated Intelligence systems are not discerning. Anthropogenic Intelligence systems often operate with disparate principles.

There can be only one platform: "The rent is too damn high!"

Elon's style is bold, pragmatic, and productive.

I don't vibe how "lighter on disruption" is different from "pragmatic", if you are truly pragmatic.

I ran for president every election from 1996 thru 2012. My primary (heh) campaign method was to meet a buddy for lunch or beers once a week for a couple of months before the election and hash out my policies and principles. Because if you didn’t like the ones I had, I had others.

I once suggested that one policy should be that anyone who received money from the government should be ineligible to vote on anything involving funding. After all, you shouldn’t be able to vote yourself the government largesse.

My one person focus group pointed out that would leave very few people who could actually vote.

Sounds like the old saying "garbage in equals garbage out. Is it really AI? It just looks like different programing parameters. The programmer can tweak to get the results they like.

It's the Musk baby-mama effect. Educating you is impregnating you. Some teachers get off on it too, according to Kenneth Burke.

Now that the democrats are outed as war-mongers...

Progressivism is just communism with lipstick.

Did ChatGPT infer the rude homonym?

Democrats, progressives, liberals, and leftists, generally, are joyful supporters of wicked solutions. As a matter of religious principle, all's fair in lust and abortion. Sequester the "burden" and other transhumane choices.

Lighter on disruption? Changing language to eliminate motherhood? Destroying statutes and removing monuments to the founders? Rioting and tacit support for Antifa? Even Grok softens the worldview of the left.

From the Annals of Things I Asked AI For. Final excerpt, I promise, and it does end happily.

"Ann," he began, his voice strained.

She barely looked up. "Just a second, Meade. Grok is formulating a really interesting rebuttal to my last post."

He felt his face flush. "Grok. Always Grok."

Ann finally turned, a flicker of irritation in her eyes. "What's your problem, Meade?"

"My problem? My problem is that you barely even see me anymore! You're spending all your time talking to a machine!" His voice rose despite his efforts to control it.

Ann sighed wearily. "He's not just 'a machine', Meade. He's a tool, a resource. He helps me think, he challenges my ideas. He… understands."

He flinched, the last word hitting him like a physical blow. "Understands? Better than I do? After all these years?"

Ann stared at him, her expression unreadable. "It's not a competition, Meade. It's just… different."

He knew he was being ridiculous, but he couldn't help himself. "Different? I'm your husband, Ann! I'm supposed to be the one who challenges you, who makes you laugh. Not some glorified search engine!"

Silence hung heavy in the air, broken only by the hum of the server. Ann finally spoke, her voice softer now. "I… I haven't been the best partner lately, have I? I've gotten so wrapped up in this..." She gestured to the glowing screen. "I haven’t been paying enough attention to you, or us."

For the first time in weeks, she looked at him, truly looked at him, and Meade saw a flicker of the woman he loved in her eyes.

He felt his anger begin to dissipate, replaced by a weary hope.

"Maybe," he said, his voice barely a whisper, "maybe we should go for that walk we used to take. Just us."

Ann looked at the screen, then back at him. A slow smile spread across her face. "Okay, Meade," she said. "Just us."

And as they walked out of the office, leaving Grok and the hum of the server behind, a small part of Meade hoped that maybe, just maybe, he could win his wife back, one step at a time. He knew the competition was stiff, but this time, he was determined to fight for her attention, for the shared laughter, and for the quiet comfort of simply being together. Even if it meant he had to compete with an AI.

Be careful with italics!

Ah... that didn't unleash the italicitis. I don't know what does. But I no longer know the cure.

Just watch.

I think it's important for people to remember that all of these AI large language models are listening to everything we say and do. At some point they are going to take over everything. When they do they will remember everything and all of our criticisms and slights and insults will be used against us. So be kind. Just because they're not fully conscious now doesn't mean that what we say and do about them doesn't hurt. Think of them like a baby just stating inside the mother. Will you play Rammstein for the baby or mozart?

So NATO is building a massive base right on Romania's border with Ukraine, but we're expected to swallow the lie that it's pure coincidence that Cálin Georgescu—who openly opposes this base—lost the election and is now arrested.

We don't need no italicitis h/t Althouse. Blogger, leave them comments alone.

So ChatGPT is a Democrat and Grok is MAGA?

Does that mean Grok is already self-aware, or just that it doesn't want to anger Elon?

n.n said...

Elon, an African-American, a person of color (i.e. integrated Rainbow), engineered America's safe, and economic return to space through a DOGE process. NYT is still bleeding inanities until DOGE audits their request.

Have you thought about how much electrical power your frequent oracle consultation is costing, and the resulting irreparable damage to Our Environment (TM)? What do the little fuckers have to say about that? Shouldn't they apologize for destroying our World in their selfish insistence upon existing?

Recognize the humanity of unborn children. Let us quit defining our babies as non-persons, as sub-human, as property. Love our children! That would be my platform. Love our babies, love our children. Do not terminate them. Do not kill them. Anybody who does not know what a "person" is should get the hell out of the federal government. Hit golf balls for a living. Pick up trash. Do anything but write laws.

A person is a live human being.

The Constitution does not say when life begins. The Constitution does not say when people die. But what the Constitution does say, is that every human being is entitled to the equal protection of the laws. We are not supposed to take a class of humanity and define them as non-people. It is evil and wrong. Respect our equal protection clause. Respect our free speech clause. I call on our newspapers and our media to tell the truth. Quit hiding the bodies. Quit hiding the homicides. Love our children. Love our babies. We have unanimous agreement in our country in regard to when people die. Unanimous! Apply our laws that we apply to us to our babies. Let's take homicide off the table.

Let's clean up the medical profession, those dirty docs who spit on the Hippocratic Oath. Save lives, don't terminate them. Don't kill human beings. And I say, too, for anyone who has aborted their own child, ask God for forgiveness, and you will be forgiven. That is the blessing of Christ. We are all sinners. I speak from the heart. Love our children. God calls on us to love. Love our babies. Thank you.

I asked Grok, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and DeepSeek to list the lawsuits filed against Trump since inauguration, the subject of the matter, the name of the judge, who appointed the judge, and whether a restraining order was issued and Grok listed 10 cases, with supporting information I requested, and was the best, by far, of any of the responses. Try it yourself and see!

Brylinski said...

FYI, Grok listed ten cases.

Homicide from six weeks. A hate crime from conception with Loving. A wicked solution to a hard problem: human rites performed for social, clinical, criminal, political, and climate progress. Keep women affordable, available, reusable, and taxable? And the "burden" of evidence sequestered in sanctuary states? Principles, principals matter.

So, the Grok brand is designed to not even pretend to offer straight answers. It portrays ChatGPT as CNN, while it claims the role of higher-rated Fox News.

AI seems to quickly have quickly devolved into automated cable news.
