As to monarchy it has some very good qualities. A logical system of succession and if good monarch then can train the next to be decent. British monarchs has some very good monarchs and some not so good. They produced Common law which is the basis of our justice system. Regrettably the last good monarch was Elizabeth II. They were very aware that only with popular support do they get to keep their heads. For Herman Melville's information, as well as those commenters who keep referring to the color white as "the absence of color", you should note that quite contrary, white is the MOST colored color of them all. Its hexadecimal code is #FFFFFF, and its RGB code is RGB(255,355,255) on the max end of both scales. At the other end of the spectrum, the color black is #000000 and RGB(0,0,0).
Thus, white people are (sorry, BLM), the most colored people of all. And Snow White was born as the most colored little girl of all. And Moby Dick was the most colored whale of all. Which now finally explains why he was hunted so obsessively.

The whale that Melville got the name from was actually called Mocha Dick, but Mocha Dick WAS albino, so the point still stands as long as albinism ("absence of pigment") doesn't preclude the whale being a Cetacean of Color.
The end is just a standard Disney scene, like the fair in Mary Poppins, it has no more meaning than Rhein and Stimpy singing “Happy happy, joy joy.” It’s a message to the audience to put on your coat.

The origins of the Snow White story is found in the Brothers Grimm, where Snow White's mother (who died, leaving her with her wicked stepmother) sits sewing at a window during winter, and she pricks her finger. She then wishes that she has a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as the drops of blood that she had spilt, and hair as black as the window ledge that she was sitting by. So we have black hair, pale skin and red lips. How is it so difficult to see that Snow White could come from any of a number of different societies from around the world? And like so many of the stories collected by the Brothers Grimm, there are echoes of Snow White in Southern European, Middle Eastern, Chinese and Indian cultures and stories. The story is transmutable. It has changed and evolved over time. I can't see any reason for making a fuss about this.

A white spider is sitting on a white heal-all flower. Those flowers are usually blue. And the spider is eating a white moth. How did these particular white insects and plants, none of which are usually white, all come together? It must be part of God'plan, says atheist Frost. And we can see the plan was a design of darkness to appall. Unless there is no design. And no God.
I suppose my comment is that part of the strangeness of the whale is its being the wrong color just like the spider, the heal-all and the moth. And then there is a strength and aggressiveness. And the captain goes mad. It's great story but whiteness isn't the only element.
Similarly the original Snow White was filled with color but neo-Snow White is not akthough it is supposed to be diverse. Strange.
I found the desert quite scary, far more scary than snow in Wisconsin which there is too much of but otherwise it OK. But the desert had no life - no green, no little animals, no birds, no water; grey thorns, dusty rocks, blazing sun. My mother always used to say, sitting up in the bleachers of our high school pool where we took summer swim lessons, "I could scan the legs and bodies and pick out mine as the whitest ones." I didn't much like it. Burned easily and my brothers always swam (outdoors) in tshits in the summer. My sisters always seem to be wearing white nylons in the summer; they've protected their legs from the sun. Then... when I was teaching at the same summer indoor pool years later when I was in high school... there were two little boys who were albino. That's white! Pink eyes, white hair, as well as the skin... They were caucasian. I hear in Africa (not sure if they still do) a lot of families rejected/cast out albino-born babies.
We need to get over the obsession with skin color the same way we need to get over the obsession with gender. As we move more and more into the technological age, where physical presence is less important in the non-labor jobs, I think we can. There's so much more in the brain, than in the bodies... it's limiting to think we're limited by our skin color, or genitals, really. Trans people get this. The rest of you... are still catching up to the magnificence of the human brain.
Worst thing you can do it try to limit others because you're not capable of understanding yet, and need to push conformity to keep "control". If we were more practical, and accepting of differences, this would be a better world. (I think you took two steps backwards when the lesser-educated commoner came into your life; Richard being Jewish likely had a broader mindset, but maybe it's not him so much just natural aging and sticking to "what you know" instead of ... growing up with the country, as it were.)

Maybe they should focus more on how many female relators have special codes and other things to ensure their safety because so many of them are targeted by predators pretending to be clients.
