Almost exactly a year ago the Washington Times published an article with the title “FAA turned away qualified air traffic controllers based solely on race.” If Michiganders want to send the former Transportation Secretary back to DC then the blood of the dead American Airlines passengers should be on their heads too.

Was there even a Senator Gary Peters? It sounds like the kind of name the party would think up to hide the fact that the seat has been vacant for ten years.
If you a) move to another state to have a better shot at being elected to the Senate and b) have to say that you have a lot of humility, then you don't have a lot of humility.

She (Hobbs) said that she had better things to do campaigning. After Election Day, we found out what they were. Election Day found tens of thousands of Republicans disenfranchised by a voting system where ballots were printed at one size, and read into counting machines set to a different ballot size. Changed after the machines were certified, by her office as Secretary of State. These misprinted ballots very often wouldn’t scan properly, and resulted in long lines, that were cut off by a sympathetic judge, sending those who hadn’t Ben able to vote yet, because of the lines home without voting. Plus, those who had not been able to dedicate several hours in the middle of the day to wait through line. The key here was her office allowing Maricopa County to eliminate precinct voting, forcing polling places to print (wrong sized) ballots in order to provide each voter a personalized ballot. Republicans made the mistake of voting much more often in person instead of mail in, as the Dems did. Trump won the state last year when Maricopa Republicans shifted to mail in voting.
As any number of people have opined, the name recognition of the Secretary of Transportation is inversely proportional to their successful tenure.

Where has this money gone, and I mean the entire stream of the cash including second and third tier recipients giving political contributions. How many government employees, at all levels, have been employed to date? How many planners, designers and PR people have been employed for this pathetic effort? How much has NOT been spent and can we claw it back.

The biggest issue for Michigan Republicans is that they are Michigan Republicans, who have lately been unable to field a competitive candidate for statewide office at any level. John James (Senate, 2020), Mike Rogers (Senate, 2024), Tudor Dixon (Governor, 2022) all ran campaigns that redefined "flaccid" — and I can't even recall who the Republican Secretary of State and Attorney General candidates were...
Looking at the map, I noticed that Benzie county is just south of Grand Traverse county. I have 4 enervations of ancestors buried there.
Had second cousins down by Holland, and the gay and lesbian in the family moved to nearby Saugatuck. Supposedly, it was supposed to be quite gay. In any case, we had a family reunion in Prescott, AZ a couple decades ago, and it was quite humorous when my straight female 1st cousin and at gay 2nd cousin ride to organize and control our trip to Sedona. She has a gay brother and likely lesbian sister, so we have quite a few in that side of my family. Maybe 5 out of 15.
