Odd how this sort of UNO reverse card keeps getting played by Trump, and so successfully. Almost like so much of it was just a witch hunt, lawfare based not on Trump doing illegal things, but just to damage him through bogus legal proceedings.
Now she's got plenty of time to count all that shoe-box money her black panther father taught her to hide under the bed and take it to a bank where it belongs!
Never forget that Gov kemp did ZERO to help Trump in this. And Kemp's boy - the Secretary of State - actively helped the prosecution. Both are R's by the way. If Trump get away unscathed, it wont be because of those two.
so, i guess The Moral of The Story IS: *IF* you are a totally corrupt gang prosecutor (owned and operated By the gangs).. MAKE SURE that you and your boyfriends steal AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU CAN.. WHILE you can, because eventually, you'll Probably get kicked out.
Serious Question for all Althouse readers.. How Many 10's of Thousands of dollars do YOU keep under your mattress? Do you report ANY of it?
Juan Merchan gatta be pleased with his performance …so far. Rushed that case so fast the jury was probably not correctly instructed. I don’t know if rushing is a defense but it should be appealable.
It's a lawfare case so shouldn't depend on who's prosecuting it. The selection process may be random with respect to the prosecutor chosen, though, so the case may die. The corruption of the justice system remains, however.
Isn't she the person with enough super genius IQ to put together the case? Trump probably wasn't smart enough to realize that doing the same thing Al Gore did in 2000 was actually a sooper heinous crime.
The average US black IQ is 86 but there are plenty of really smart blacks, just not at STEM astronomical levels. So you get black prosecutors who are really smart, and also are resentful, aka motivated, women. They may look particularly dumb but know how to work the system.
About $15,000 in JPY. I don't report any of it because it's below the reporting threshold for FATCA. Even if it were above, I don't think cash held for consumption purposes is covered by FATCA, but I've never had to ask.
I'm not commenting on black IQ here, but it was no accident that the Democrats had black prosecutors attack Trump with so many of these cases (e.g., Fani, Leticia James, Alvin Bragg).
Trump "punching down" against the women of The Squad during his presidency played into Democratic fundraising and the red-meat faction of the Party. In their eyes his hostility proved he was a racist and sexist and so anything out of Trump's mouth against blacks would be a "win."
These cases were plainly coordinated, and put out as...DEI proof of competence? See the many struggles of press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre with basic content and the lionization of Ketanji Brown Jackson after rabid assults against Trump's SC nominees.
I just read the opinion and the dissent. I have nothing but contempt for Willis or this prosecution, but I think on the narrow legal issue before the court, the majority got it pretty plainly wrong, and the dissent is correct. I know nothing about the makeup of the Georgia Supreme Court, but it wouldn't be shocking if this got taken upstairs and reversed.
Judge disqualified ALL ADAs in Fulton County as well because their power derives from the elected power of the DA and she's fatally disqualified for malfeasance. Can't be tried in Fulton. And Trump won every other county in the state. Stick a fork in it. It's done.
Okay, that's fair. Procedural posture of case meant appellate court was required to accept (and did accept) that there was no actual conflict of interest, only appearance; and that Willis did not materially benefit by retaining/paying Wade; and that nothing that happened in the case led to unfairness to defendants. More importantly, accepting those premises, the remedy (disqualification, nothing at all, or the middle ground taken by the trial judge) is squarely within the discretion of the trial judge. Here the appellate court, without any well-defined reason, just overrode the trial court's decision, which runs counter to a whole bunch of cases, including from the Georgia Supreme Court.
Stand by for the obligatory 3-paragraph rant from one Robert "Kook" Cook full of legal fictions and vacuous jargon from his law license in Legalistical Lawyerisming that he made by drawing on a placemat at IHOP with crayons.
Reminder: Even though “Fani” is spelled as if it should be pronounced the same as “Fanny”, it does not. She wants it pronounced “Fah-ni”. It rhymes with “Nazi”. Not the other way. Remember, “Nah-zi”.
"Kemp is also the most popular politician in the state and has been an excellent Governor. Trump understands this."
Kemp won in 2018 only because of Trump's endorsement. He got 50.22 percent of the vote. In 2022, he got 53.41 percent. In 2022, Warnock, the re-elected D Senator, got 51.40 percent. Saying he's the most popular, is like saying he's the tallest dwarf.
As for "what could Kemp have done"? A pardon for one thing. Speaking out in favor Trump is another. Supporting an impeachment of Willis is another. Not supporting Raffensperger for re-election, would have been nice.
Oh, and not defending the 2020 election in GA by constantly saying there was "no fraud".
This was an obvious and absurd "Lawfare" case to destroy Trump. Yet, Kemp kept mostly silent and refuse to denounce it other than say "its a distraction". Its obvious that if Willis had been able to convict and jail Trump, "Republican" Kemp would've been perfectly happy.

Note to Democrats: When you're in a hole, stop digging.
To paraphrase Hillary: "When the facts come out people will realize there was a vast left-wing conspiracy."

Thus conception of the modern adage: hoisted by her Fani.
Oh, that's gotta hurt.
Now she's got plenty of time to count all that shoe-box money her black panther father taught her to hide under the bed and take it to a bank where it belongs!
The tragic irony of political sanctuary leading to legal sequestration. Hoisted by her Fani.

... in the refrigerator, away from cavorting Katrina, away from Walz "N Kamala et al.
To paraphrase Bluto in Animal House: 4 years of political persecution/lawfare down the drain!
Georgia sidestepped the financial goodies that were NOT coming to them because of this. Intentionally or unintentionally.
NYC, best take the hint.
Prosecutorial indiscretion.
Teh feckin’ she gets for the feckin’ she got.
Have to wonder how the bluesky inmates are taking this. :)
The cumupance and Karma are just getting started.
The usual, Death threats with a side of pedophilia.
Judge Merchan is corrupt.
Blue skies are, ironically, polluted skies in fact, and under Democratic endangerment proclamation.

There are (R)'s, and then there are (R)'s, as the CR being considered on the (R)-dominated House floor amply proves...
Fani is corrupt. Where is her indictment?
Bluesky filled with child porn and death threats. LOL.
Time to ink that book deal. Working title is I'm the Real Victim.
Fani issues a selfie-indictment. LOL

The question is #MeToo Willis or will she not. She will. She did. Hoisted by her Fani.

So far, dirtbag prosecution only thrives in New York and DC. We will see about Arizona and Wisconsin.

Her entire office was disqualified. To go forward, some other county's DA would have to want to pick it up, I guess.
Note to Democrats: If you just dig that hole just a little bit deeper, you’ll be sure to get Trump/MAGA this time!

“Thus conception of the modern adage: hoisted by her Fani.”
Considering the British use of the term and the fact that she was caught putting her married lover on the payroll, yes that is correct.
Trump has been incredibly blessed in the stupidity of his persecutors. In. Cred. Ibly!

And not even a confirmed judge. Just a temp / appointed stooge.
Kemp is also the most popular politician in the state and has been an excellent Governor. Trump understands this.
What, precisely do think Kemp could have done?
Judge disqualified ALL ADAs in Fulton County as well because their power derives from the elected power of the DA and she's fatally disqualified for malfeasance. Can't be tried in Fulton. And Trump won every other county in the state. Stick a fork in it. It's done.
DC is done as well.
The obvoius question is: WHY do you have that opinion?

Fanny played fast and loose with the facts.
Kamala just got a $20 million advance. Fani can't get that much, but if she could get even 1/4th, that's a lot of shoe boxes!
Fanny with a y got an F and she don’t know why.
When you rush a case you get a rotten outcome.
"Serious Question for all Althouse readers.. How Many 10's of Thousands of dollars do YOU keep under your mattress?"
Zero. I keep the gold sovereigns in several locations...sleeping on them is a surefire recipe for future lower back problems.
" Do you report ANY of it?"
Lol. LMAO even.
#Trumptroubles dissipate

After shopping for a new mattress, I'd say that the mattress itself represents a highly valuable stash.
Drawing on a placemat is part of defending one's thesis at the Institute of Half-assed Obstinate Peremptoriness. Go flapjacks!
This isn’t over. We still need to get to the bottom of BF Wade’s involvement with the Biden Whitehouse.
More popcorn please.
Ah Fani---managed to bite herself on the fanny through hubris. Who knew that here body was that flexible?
Reminder: Even though “Fani” is spelled as if it should be pronounced the same as “Fanny”, it does not. She wants it pronounced “Fah-ni”. It rhymes with “Nazi”. Not the other way. Remember, “Nah-zi”.
