Obama?
Obama plans to hold a press conference at 11 a.m. in Washington today, his fifth public remarks on the debt in a week, as he presses lawmakers to reach an agreement to raise the $14.3 trillion U.S. borrowing ceiling before an Aug. 2 deadline. The president and bipartisan congressional negotiators agreed to meet every day until they reach a deal, said one legislative aide on condition of anonymity.Or Tiger?
[T]he news that Tiger will sit down with The Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman on Monday morning at 11 AM ET seems a bit strange....
What could it be?... Here are a few of the possibilites.
-- Tiger won't play golf for the rest of 2011...
-- Tiger needs to have surgery to fix his knee/Achilles.
-- Tiger might comment on his relationship with Anthony Galea, maybe just to clear the air after Galea was indicted last week on counts of transporting illegal drugs across the border for a number of athletes.
-- Tiger might be giving us an idea of when he will return to golf.

How cool would it be if Woods announced that he was going to challenge obama for the Democratic nomination for POTUS?
Well now, AllenS?
May I say that your imagination needs "MORE WILD"?
Watching either press conference is a waste of time on a warm summer vacation morning.
I have no interest in Tiger Woods, and I already know what Barack Obama will say.
Which half n' half', who are starting to realize that they fucked up royally and are trying desperately to turn their careers, that are swirling in the bowl, around, will I watch? Unless Kelly Tilghman is gonna be naked...neither.
Today I am checking in on Althouse to see if there is any mention of the criminal phone hacking by the elements of the Murdoch News Corp. Can't find it.
Given little Murdoch is facing jail time and laws in the US may also have been broken, it is a very intriguing legal question.
Yet, it is not happening in the Althouse Alternate Universe. No doubt just like right wingers everywhere, they ignore wrongdoing by their favorite media tycoon.
Really, they hacked the phones of 9/11 victims! Where is your outrage?
And at the same time?
Wood to bed.
President on duty
I'm going to repair my automatic recording of Imus from when I lost the DSL and dialup connections this morning, using some delayed west coast station feed to replace it.
Jame Murdoch, that's the name of the spawn of Murdoch.
Murdoch has admitted that he authorized out-of-court settlements to victims of phone hacking during his time as head of News International, the British division of News Corp--and that the company misled Parliament repeatedly. Murdoch said that he did these things without "full possession of the facts."
What's the word, wingers? Is your partisan media reporting on this?
Always interesting to assume good faith when someone is spiriting your ass where it never once belonged.
"What's the word, wingers? Is your partisan media reporting on this?"
I just looked at WaPo's web site. Didn't see anything on their main page about this.
Sorry if you're the only one in your circle jerk this morning.
One of these men is flawed but brilliant, and one is just flawed.
Easy decision.
BTW: Did Murdoch supply automatic weapons to criminal, who then used them to assassinate American agents? Cuz that would be really bad and might even make the news.
If Tiger and the President have news conferences and I do not pay attention, do either of them make any noise?
Penny, without my imagination, I got nothin.
Watch Obama? Why waste my time.....
Fred: they will most certainly make noise, but you will spared.
Neither.

A tabloid in Britain hacked celebrity phone lines. They got in trouble because in addition to hacking actresses phone’s they hacked a missing girl/murdered girls phone. IS that the one you are talking about? The entire paper was shut down. What’s to talk about?
Alpha: will see your Murdoch thing and raise you gun runner and fast and furious. I do love your sense of moral outrage.
What, another set up speech by the Obama acting troupe?
Will he say "No, no, don't" to the GOP House leadership while he steers the Government into another crisis designed for him to take emergency powers to pretend to be helping us?
It is so boring.
Why do I suspect the press wont ask him about the economic wisdom of tax increases during a recession--IIRC Mr Obama was against those before he was for them
Given little Murdoch is facing jail time and laws in the US may also have been broken, it is a very intriguing legal question.
Who in their right mind gives a fuck about LITTLE Murdock? We never even heard of the guy before this, you dingbat. But, for you, it's "a very intriguing legal question." You really are a loony like everybody says.
Gunrunner, fool. Speak on it, and try to make some sense, will you?
How about this outrage, numb nuts:
On Friday, Governor Scott Walker signed a bill that made Wisconsin the 49th state to allow law-abiding citizens to carry firearms.
At least Tiger has balls.
Ann, your question answers itself. Obviously Tiger wants to talk about the tampax scene on Curb Your Enthusiasm!
@Alpha That story has already been blogged here and talked about. Note: It happened in the UK.
I agree with Crack: the gunrunning story is much more important (esp. to Americans) and is seriously underreported by the Obama-favoring MSM.
Which press event will you tune to at 11 a.m.?
Some of us work.
We know what will happen with Little Zero.
OTOH, Tiger just may be doing Kelly Tilghman.
Your choice of press conference by either of two golfers.
Meh.
Has anyone notice the lack of expression in Obama's eyes when he gives a presser? It's like he's trying desperately to stay on message because he doesn't understand what the message is, or should be.
First, neither.
Second, do you notice that the big-O always has a press conference to scold & blame somebody else when something doesn't work. He's not so much for the "we're starting to work here, and this is what's important" announcement - you know, the kind of thing that puts his nuts on the chopping block too.
I guess having his one attempt at proposing a budget shot down with 0 "for" votes in the Senate which his own party controls was at tad ... disheartening.
You know what? It's always after he doesn't get everything he wants. He's an unreliable partner, and now, shocked, shocked that nobody trusts him.
Sigh. Were he taking any of this in, it would be some hard, uncomfortable learning.
