"Ann -- I wanted to take a moment to thank you directly for the outstanding work you've been doing for health reform."

It's email from Barack Obama! I call him Barack. We're on a first-name basis, you know. Me and the President of the United States! Sigh.
I can tell you that your voice is heard in Washington every day.
Thanks for hearing so well.
I see how your efforts are moving us toward victory.
Thanks for seeing so well.
But I also know that with just days remaining the final vote is shaping up to be extremely close.
"Extremely close"? As in you're 19 votes short? That's the current whip count. [CORRECTION: I've misstated the info at that link. Here's another count: "192 Yes, 208 No (205-210 with leaners)." That would be 16 votes short.]
Everything we've worked for is on the line, and your voice is needed now more than ever before.
Are you sure you know what you're asking for? You want more from me?
Raise your voice today: We must all speak out together to finish the job.
Together? You're into cacophony then, eh?
In these final, crucial days, much more will be asked of us. Our resolve will be tested.

During moments like this, I believe it's important to remember why we have worked so hard for so long. That's why I spoke to the country Monday at a gathering in Ohio and said it plainly: I'm here for Natoma.
I don't want to be a lout, but when I hit the anecdote cue, I skim. Skim. Skim. Skim....
Thank you for making it possible,

President Barack Obama
No problem! I do what I can. Thanks for appreciating my contribution.

UPDATE: I hope Barack appreciates my new contribution.

I've just figured out that, when my insurance premiums are cut by 300 percent, I can retire!

You left a zero off, mesquito - he SAID 3,000%. I believe the campaign issued a release later that he'd "misspoke".

When will they issue the corrections for the O "misspeaking" that:
1) Medicare won't be cut, in fact it's "being saved" by Obamacare
2) "you can keep the plan you have now"
3) "it won't raise the deficit one dime"
4) "taxes won't go up on ANYONE making less than $250,000"
5) the Republicans have made no alternative proposals

There. Doesn't that make you feel better?

Darn. Your are right. Not only can I retire, I can buy a county to retire in.

I just discovered that this new system permits me to leave comments here. This will be by second. I've been lurking and watching you people for two or three years now.

It's sort of how I meet women, come to think of it.

He's not asking you to specifically do something? Odd...I guess he doesn't want to be embarrassed when nobody does it, like with the home parties for health care fiasco.

Heck, while we're at it,

You're Welcome Barack!!!!!!!!

He might as well thank me, too, for all the support I've given him.

I thought Fox did a pretty good job in the interview tonight and that Barack came across as not asnwering the questions. No real stand out moment.

But I wish the interviewer would have taken him on this Natoma issue. She apparently is getting great medical care under the current system. Barack's plan would not do anything for her. I often am surprised as how liberal anecdotes so often don't stand the scrutiny, but like so many things, I think they just assume the media will let them get away with it.

I can remember listening to W at the end of his term and thinking - oh god, I wish he would just go away already. I can't listen to this anymore.

God, how I wish he was the President again.

I do hope that Meade isn't jealous. You know that some extra-marital affairs start out with innocent email communication. I'm just sayin'.

If this situation wasn't so sad it'd be.... umm...sad. I'm not a person prone to depression, in spite of several real good personal reasons to head that way, but this is depressing. Can anyone feel good about so much of our future being in the hands of Obama, Reid and Pelosi, flying in the face of public opinion with zero consideration of any opposing views. Oh yeah, and they are lying.

This does make perfect sense. Barack is usually friendly to his enemies and only attacks his best friends. Beware of Obamas bearing gifts.

I'm beginning to wonder what's going to happen if Obama's healthcare plan isn't passed. Will he give a "malaise" speech, like Jimmy Carter, about how, doggone it, this country's lost his way? Or will he do a snarling, Nixonesque "you won't have Barack Obama to kick around anymore"? Or maybe a meltdown, like drunk James Mason at the Academy Awards in "A Star Is Born": "I need a job! I need a job!"

Whatever it is, it's going to be weird. When Clinton's healthcare plan flopped, he dropped it and moved on. It looked like Obama might do that after the election of Scott Brown, but no. His will must be obeyed! He's invested way too much in this to get past it at this point.

I'm beginning to wonder what's going to happen if Obama's healthcare plan isn't passed.

He'll just do it by administrative fiat. “I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate,” he told Bret Baier. Screw the Constitution. Any means necessary, his will be done. The ends of socialism justify the means of dictatorship.

He'll simply do whatever the hell he wants to.

And what do you mean if it isn't "passed"? The House isn't going to pass anything except a rule with changes. They sure as hell don't care about passing it -- they're just going to declare it enacted by fiat.

But you expect us to be sympathetic to some Natoma story thats likely contrived, all for you Legacy.

Not cool, Chase. Don't bring Old Spice guy into this. When Obamacare passes and we're all sitting around mourning the premature deaths of our loved ones, we'll need something pure and untainted by politics to keep our spirits up.

What Obama's letter SHOULD have said:

These are the lies we're spinning to try to get this POS bill passed:

1) Medicare won't be cut, in fact it's "being saved" by Obamacare
2) "you can keep the plan you have now"
3) "it won't raise the deficit one dime"
4) "taxes won't go up on ANYONE making less than $250,000"
5) "the Republicans have made no alternative proposals"
6) "by the time the vote has taken place, you'll know what's in it because the bill will be posted and deliberations will be on CSPAN so everybody's going to be able to evaluate it on the merits."
7) "premiums will fall by 14 to 20 percent", or "premiums will fall by 3,000 percent" [take your pick]
8) "we just want a simple up-or-down vote"
9) "there will be no rationing"
10) "tort reform isn't important enough to bother with"
11) "We didn't make any backroom deals"
12) "It's just like car insurance - everyone has to have that"
13) "It won't cover illegal aliens"

How can the Obots raise their voice when the Rushbots have melted down the phone lines?

I mean this dolt has absolutely no clue about business and how it works. I mean zippo, nada, nyet.

Barack sent me a letter too.

It was remarkably unresponsive to the letter I sent him.

I don't think he liked my letter, which was respectful, but contained several inconvenient truths he does not want to hear.

It is nice to be on first name basis with Barack. Though I do have some other names for him I prefer.

ERROR -- "you're 19 votes short" link is reversed -- the GOP is 19 votes short!

"it is more effective to count the number of incumbents voting against the bill. In order to defeat the bill, GOPers need 216 votes -- or 38 Dems to join every member of the GOP conference. So far, they appear to be 19 votes short."

Me? I'm going to save the real contributions for when the health care law passes.

Enjoy our doctor's union, Montagne. A few strikes here and there (which worked in other single payer nations) will be sufficient to get our demands for shorter hours and higher pay met tout suite.

That and my work to rule plan should help society quite a bit.

Howdya like them contributions, MM?

One of the things I find annoying about politicians in general, including Obama, is their practice of calling people by first name while expecting to be addressed by title.

Last night Obama kept calling Baer "Brett" while Baer always said "Mr President" or "sir"

Seems like it should be a 2 way street. Obama should call Baer "Mr Baer" or Baer should call Obama "Barrack"
