"Three law enforcement officers were shot dead and at least three others wounded in Baton Rouge, La., on Sunday...."

"One suspect had been killed, most likely by police gunfire, and two others, described as wearing all black, were being sought, said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a police spokesman. 'We do believe there is more than one suspect.'"

I didn't say you were wrong. And don't act like "partisan" is a bad thing. It just means taking sides.

"As for the Orlando shooter...had he lived, his 911 call would most certainly have been admissible evidence in his trial. Why do you refuse to take it as prima facie evidence that he was motivated by radical Islamic ideology? Why must that conclusion be avoided?"

It's not a matter of "avoiding that conclusion," it's a matter of considering that there were other possible motives. The "prima facie evidence" is not proof. There's no reason to jump to the obvious conclusion because it's the easy conclusion, or the most satisfying or most useful.

Everything that has been revealed about Omar Mateen so far leaves doubt, in my mind, as to whether he was actually a radicalized Muslim extremist or whether he was simply one more angry, socially maladjusted man who hated himself so much he wanted to take it out on others, to kill them in the goal of being killed himself. Mass killers are aware of the impact they will make on the public, and they often leave testaments or manifestos that purport to justify or explain their actions. In most cases, they're simply empty, confused, self-hating, self-pitying, self-justifying people who are driven to the ultimate nihilistic act.

Democrats have run Atlanta, Memphis, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore etc for many decades and the great prosperous and productive lives of black Americans in those cities speaks volumes about the excellent outcomes the Democrats have been able to pull off on their behalf.

Definitely not a racist comment. Just presumes that blacks were better off during the days of segregation and prior to civil rights. Other than that, let me know which apples you're trying to compare these oranges to.

No blacks weren't better off during the days of segregation forced upon them by Democrat nor prior to the time they had no civil rights due to Democrats nor indeed when they were slaves due to Democrats.

They were better off when the Republican party controlled the South, and they are better off in Republican Congressional Districts.

Urban Blacks today live in communities run by Black people, go to schools run by Black people, are policed by departments run by Black people and are totally dependent on government handouts...yet white racism is to blame for all of their ills.

It is plainly obvious that you think you know what people think based on what the voices in your head tell you they are thinking. The voices are wrong.

I know what you don't think of based on what you say. You expose your lack of conscience as a sort of verbal sin of omission. And you confirm it when, after I call you out on it, you still say it's all the fault of the party that refused to cater to white racists. Which I guess is better than your fellow partisans here, who just blame it on blacks themselves.

It is plainly obvious that you cannot explain the horrible and clear decline of the black community in those cities that have been run by Democrats for half a century.

Again, you're ignoring that they're voting for the people who don't talk down to them, who didn't seek to win national elections and the south through a strategy that the party's leaders admitted was racist. And that was when they weren't seeking to cut benefits for them while whistling to white voters that it was blacks mooching off the benefits that they wouldn't agree to cut for themselves anyway.

So go explain that, first - you hyper-partisan ignoramus. No, blacks weren't going to vote for Republicans who called them "welfare queens," while those same Republicans voted for every bailout and corporate welfare program you could come up with. Imagine that. Priorities for rich white corporations apparently weren't the same, politically, as those for poor blacks screwed over by the Party of Rich White Corporations.

It's nice to see Gahrie chime in to accuse blacks of not voting in 2016 for the party platforms that existed in 1880.

The conversation in your head is confusing you. You know my conscience? Silly boy you haven't a clue.

Explain again the wonderful outcomes for the black community under decades and decades of Democrat governance in the cities I mentioned. I concede everything you have said about Atwater and the southern strategy.
Just explain why blacks have done so very poorly under these Democrat governments. How they have not only done poorly but have by all measures done worse by the decade.

I have no answer and don't have to have any answer. I just know that they're not voting for Republicans. Ask them or Republicans why they aren't.

But I do know that other Republicans blame black household income on an absence of black fathers. Where did the young black males go? Apparently to prison in order to keep society "safe" from non-violent drug offenses. White collar criminals are apparently "good" enough to make powder cocaine their drug of choice instead of crack or weed.

Priorities, Michael. Priorities. Got to lock them up, right!?

Sounds right to me...what is your explanation, besides White racism?

Where did the young black males go?

sadly to the graveyard and prison.

Apparently to prison in order to keep society "safe" from non-violent drug offenses.

The vast majority of Black men in prison are there for violent felonies and chronic property crimes. In the days of plea agreements and crowded prisons, you have to be among the worst of the worst to get sent to prison for any length of time today.

Our government seems to believe that it is possible to discriminate in favor of certain groups without discriminating against non-favored groups.

You first ask whether it is legal for an employer to use phrases in job advertisements such as “women or minorities are encouraged to apply.” To develop an applicant pool that reflects the demographics of the qualified labor force, it may be necessary to encourage members of underrepresented groups to apply. We know of no case in which an employer has been held liable for using such language in their job advertisements. As one court observed, “[a]n employer’s affirmative efforts to recruit minority and female applicants [do] not constitute discrimination. An inclusive recruitment effort enables employers to generate the largest pool of qualified applicants and helps to ensure that minorities and women are not discriminatorily excluded from employment. This not only allows employers to obtain the best possible employees, but it is an excellent way to avoid lawsuits.” Duffy v. Wolle, 123 F.3d 1026, 1038-39 (8th Cir. 1997).

https://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/foia/letters/2008/titlevii_ada_jobadvertis.html

One wonders what the EEOC would think of an advertisement that said "non-minority men are encouraged to apply."

And agiam, the liberals blame the conservatives for this, when in fact its laid just as easily at the liberals feet. For example, which president oversaw the greatest increase in prison population of black people/ That's right. Clinton. Who called blacks "super predators" that's right. Hillary Clinton.
Why are blacks voting for dems consistently? Who's to say that people always vote the way they should.
My personal belief, based on what those pushing black liberation theology and/or reparations is that black liberals simply do not believe in color blindness as an ideology. They liked when MLK said it, but the last thing they want to do is set aside racial identity politics which would require that blacks have all rights, but have to face responsibility for their own communities rise or fall. And the racial identity politics pushers simply do not want that.

Uncle tom negroes however have seemed to move past race. And they are race Traitors to those blacks who still cling to their racism. Those uncle toms generally vote Republican. And also tend to do much better in society.

Some helpful advice MK. When quitting a blog, quit cold turkey ie no peeking in occasionally as that never works.

R&B,

I favor community policing.

Community policing equals the banlieue. Or at least it leads to the banlieue. Do you want one law for all or don't you?

At least I'm up, Mike. Where'd your country go, dude? All those states that your guys control so tight-fistedly - along with congress and the courts - and look what happens. There go your neighborhoods, Mike.

New Orleans is a long-time Dem city.
Chicago is Dem.
NYC is Dem.
Detroit is Dem.

The biggest murder capitals tend to be Democrat.

Just yesterday I was reading that islam has nothing to do with muslim terrorist attacks/Nice

Today I get to read that BLM has nothing to do with the slaughter of cops/Baton Rouge

And yet the Confederate flag came to life and shot nine church goers in Charleston last year...

This is what MK was hoping for ie many sympathetic cons pleading to him not to leave. So far he's probably pretty disappointed, eh.

Re: Blacks and who's responsible for their current "condition" aside, you sure don't win their votes back by passing state legislation trying to restrict their voting rights ie making it harder for minorities, older folk, college students, etc. to vote.

Indeed, it's a very fine line between good politics and racism. Or I would argue stupid politics!

Voter ID which is gonna allow mittens to win the state of PA done!

Oops!

Indeed, interesting how voter fraud did not become a big issue until Obama er a Black man easily won the presidency and many new Rep governors were elected in 2010.

Too funyy as they tried soooo hard to restrict the minority vote and still lost.

And they're getting ready to nominate Trump, Obama's a Muslim born in Kenya, as their king.

Talk about the gang who can't shoot straight!

No, blacks weren't going to vote for Republicans who called them "welfare queens,"

Actually, it was the Chicago Tribune that coined the term "welfare queen" to describe Linda Taylor during a time of widespread welfare fraud. It was a real issue, and Reagan pointed out "the one who holds the record" as the result of their reporting. Was she black? I don't know; she claimed to be everything under the sun--black, Jewish, Asian...
