@HeyTammyBruce
An open letter to Kerry Kennedy:
You people are awful. Despite your family's checkered past and horrible behavior of so many of the men, Americans have stood with you out of loyalty, sentimentality, and too often, grief. Despite the questionable establishment of your family's wealth, the treatment of Marilyn Monroe, the general womanizing, the abandonment of Mary Jo Kopechne to her death, allegations of rape, one could go on and on, but the point is your family has stayed loyal and protective of family members who have done the most appalling of things. But the moment one of your own acts on his conscience for this country you attempt to throw him to the wolves and publicly condemn him. Never a word for the trail of abused or abandoned women left behind by a Kennedy, but because one of your men supports Trump in an effort to make the lives of Americans better, that alone is beyond the pale. In your ugly treatment of your brother you reveal the rot that has broken the hearts of the American people so many times over the years. Beyond that, the economic destruction of American families is something your family would never truly understand. You are not touched by the worry about having enough gas to get to work, or whether or not you can afford eggs this week, if you'll be safe walking your own neighborhood, or if your child will be safe in their urban public school or even if they will know how to read and write while collecting their diploma. You keep doing civil rights work and public service virtue signaling. But in the meantime, make a pledge to not keep doing damage as Americans are simply looking for a way to reclaim their own futures, the safety of their families, and knowing that maybe, just maybe, they can leave their children a little better off w a future they can rely on. The condition of this country should shock everyone, even if their name is Kennedy. We know it at least shocks one of you who, like us, has had enough of the fear and hopelessness assigned to us for generations. Americans are happy to see Bobby on our side as we refuse to comply and will not go gentle into the catastrophes to which we are expected to succumb. Instead, with Trump and all who join us, we will fight, fight, fight!

RFK Jr. Was My Drug Dealer. Kennedy’s endorsement of Donald Trump raises an awkward question.

“And so, one question for reporters to ask the new Trump campaigner and potential Trump-administration official Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is something like this: The candidate you’re campaigning for, in whose administration you apparently intend to serve, wants our laws rewritten so that drug dealers, particularly those who sell narcotics, face capital punishment. Given that you sold cocaine in your youth, how do you feel about his advocacy of a regime that might have resulted in your own execution at age 19?”

RFK Jr. Was a Compulsive Womanizer, and Yes, We Should Care

“No reporter has yet asked the candidate or his campaign about stories of rampant womanizing, behavior that some believed contributed to his troubled wife Mary’s 2012 suicide. “Mary was a fabulous mother and, like all of us, a flawed adult whose problems stemmed from her husband’s conduct and her drinking, caused by specific stimuli, with Bobby—who could anger, frustrate, belittle her into taking a drink—as provocateur,” her divorce lawyer told The Daily Beast in 2017.”

How upset are you Inga about cocaine being found in the Biden White House? I don’t recall it bothering you. Do you think it makes up for all the people DA Harris put in jail for drug possession until their convictions were thrown out for corrupt evidence? Seems like the same quality of evidence by The Atlantic.

No reporter has yet asked Kamala or her campaign about stories of rampant blowjobs she gave to get ahead in life, or how she feels about her husband's illegitimate child. A good quest might be, "If he fucked around on his first wife, how confident are you that he isn't fucking around on you?"

You do know it's only an endorsement, right? That he's not actually on the ticket, right?

Should we look into the activities of each and every Democrat who's endorsed Harris? Trust me. It would be a LOT worse than what RFK's allegedly done.

Gosh, we find ourselves in a place where youthful and marital indiscretions pale in comparison to salvaging our way of life from the wreckage wrought by the Biden-Harris cabal. Our very future depends on these courageous people - Trump, Kennedy, Musk et al - that dare to stand up for us and our home grown democratic values. We need their help and we don’t give a whit if they have a sordid past here and there. Our current now and our future now is that much in peril. No socialism, no communism, no fake joy, no no no.

Can you imagine how stupid one would have to be to say the things Rich and gadfly vomit up?

Particularly as of today when NASA finally yielded to the inevitable: Boeing's derelict piece of crap Starliner will be programmed to, hopefully, return to Earth uncrewed with SpaceX picking up the stranded astronauts in Feb aboard Crew Dragon.

Recall that at the time of the crewed capsule program provider selection process, NASA was right on the edge of giving Boeing a sole source contract. In the end, Boeing received twice the amount of funding as SpaceX AND is also $1.5B over budget, bring Boeing to a whopping $4B higher spend than SpaceX!

Remember when Obama kept telling people he was a Constitutional law professor?

From factcheck.org March 28, 2008:
Q: Was Barack Obama really a constitutional law professor?

A: Hillary Clinton’s campaign has picked up on this charge. In a March 27 conference call with reporters, Clinton spokesman Phil Singer claimed:

Singer (March 27): Sen. Obama has often referred to himself as “a constitutional law professor” out on the campaign trail. He never held any such title. And I think anyone, if you ask anyone in academia the distinction between a professor who has tenure and an instructor that does not, you’ll find that there is … you’ll get quite an emotional response.

The campaign also sent out an e-mail quoting an Aug. 8, 2004, column in the Chicago Sun-Times that criticized Obama for calling himself a professor when, in fact, the University of Chicago faculty page listed him as “a senior lecturer (now on leave)." The Sun-Times said, "In academia, there is a vast difference between the two titles. Details matter." The Clinton campaign added that the difference between senior lecturers and professors is that "professors have tenure while lecturers do not."

We agree that details matter, and also that the formal title of "professor" is not lightly given by academic institutions. However, on this matter the University of Chicago Law School itself is not standing on formality, and is siding with Obama.

Due to numerous press inquiries on the matter, the school released a carefully worded statement saying that for his 12 years there he was considered to be "a professor."

He got retroactively promoted which of course people do all the time.

Robert F Kennedy Jr brushes off sexual assault allegation: ‘I am who I am’

Independent candidate says ‘I am not a church boy’ after ex-nanny tells Vanity Fair he assaulted her at his home in 1998

Robert F Kennedy Jr has responded to an allegation that he sexually assaulted an employee by stating: “I am not a church boy,” as scrutiny grows over his long-shot run for the presidency.

“The independent candidate, who is seen as a threat by both the Biden and Trump campaigns, made the statement after his former babysitter told Vanity Fair that Kennedy assaulted her at his home in 1998.

Eliza Cooney, who worked for Kennedy and his then wife as a live-in nanny at the family’s home in Mount Kisco, New York, said Kennedy touched her leg at a business meeting and later appeared shirtless in her bedroom before asking her to rub lotion on his back.

A few months later, Kennedy blocked Cooney in the kitchen “and began groping her”, Vanity Fair reported. Cooney told the magazine that Kennedy touched her inappropriately.“

I bought Metabolically by Robert H Lustig on the recommendation of a commenter on another thread. I listened to it at work. It’s well written and rather interesting and I was glad I bought it. But on page 18 there’s this:
“Then there was Trump’s response, which hoped to solve the problem by letting sick people die.”
Really?
When I was a kid, when I came across a passage in a book that disparaged this or that group, I would think of it as a piece of shit I had to step over in order to keep reading. I read for the plot but also to get some insight into life. And I would wonder how wise or perceptive an author was if they kept putting pieces of shit in my path.
So when I came across this particular nugget of shit, I couldn’t believe that a proof reader or colleague who read the book or even the author himself, on a second read, didn’t say, “It’s a great effort but this passage is going to stink up the whole book” - and then edit it out.
Still worth reading just be careful where you step on your reading journey.

We have a falling birthrate in the USA. Births are below replacement value- meaning- a shrinking population. This had never worked out well for any society in history. The thread I've linked has an explanation- motherhood in most of the world, especially the West, is a low status occupation. The thread explains how Georgia (the country...) increased it's birthrate while all other countries trying to do so have so far failed. By increasing the status of mothers. Humph! Ridiculous! Or so you think. But it correlates well with what we see here in the US. Birth rates among the following groups is above replacement levels- Orthodox Jews, Latin Mass Catholics, Amish/Mennonite, and Mormons. All of whom, as affinity groups, value motherhood as a valuable higher status thing. Gee, I wonder who's at fault for denigrating motherhood as a lifestyle? https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1827070216716874191.html

Robert F. Kennedy Jr

@RobertKennedyJr
What "MAGA" really means

The phrase has troubled liberals who think it is a call for a return to an America before civil rights, gay rights, and women's rights. But I have a more generous interpretation, one that is truer to my experience of Donald Trump as he is today. "Make America Great Again" recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself. It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes. It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world's most vibrant middle class, and a idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world. I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore.
