The momentum in what direction?
I think her comments are understandable. She feels the strong push of momentum propelling her forward. She just doesn't realize it's out the door.
Does she actually believe that? Surely she doesn't.That means she is just saying it because she thinks it will help. But statements like that just demonstrate how out of touch she and her whole party are, and how they will resort to lying without hesitation-- all reasons to vote Republican this November.Btw... have you read the Republican Plan for America? I hate Republicans with a visceral and long-fermented loathing, but nonetheless it does seem like a exceptionally good plan. The document is all about creating a good environment for business and trying to eliminate corruption and shady political dealings. As far as I can tell, there is only a single sentence paying lip service to the social conservative / "family values" side. Perhaps Republicans are starting to get it?
That is very interesting, Pelosi...and all BS, unless the new ballot stuffing teams within the Democrat Metropolitan Cities have been renamed "The Momentum." That could be this year's October surprise.
Dead,I saw that via Drudge:Jobs:- Stop job-killing tax hikes- Allow small businesses to take a tax deduction equal to 20 percent of their income- Require congressional approval for any new federal regulation that would add to the deficit- Repeal small business mandates in the new health care law.Cutting Spending:- Repeal and Replace health care- Roll back non-discretionary spending to 2008 levels before TARP and stimulus (will save $100 billion in first year alone)- Establish strict budget caps to limit federal spending going forward- Cancel all future TARP payments and reform Fannie Mae and Freddie MacReforming Congress:- Will require that every bill have a citation of constitutional authority- Give members at least 3 days to read bills before a voteDefense:- Provide resources to troops- Fund missile defense- Enforce sanctions in IranTo me this reads like boilerplate R BS. The biggest tell is that they claim they're taking 100Billion out of soc/medicare/non-disc at the exact same time they have candidates attacking BHO for cutting Medicare.Feel free to fall of this typical R BS. I've already done that one too many times over the last few decades.
"The momentum in what direction?"More like inertia. They stuck the botox needle in too far, I think.
I just contributed to 7 Democratic campaigns. The lucky number will lead to total victory.

Momentum just like the cat on the way to the dead cat bounce.
"The Momentum"... isn't he one of the characters on Jersey Shore? Yeah, I bet he's with you. But watch out, his idea of 'with you' might not be the same as yours...
Speaker Pelosi continues to be an inspiration. She's a true-blue Democrat, fighting for families and traditional American values, takin' on the fat cats and also hot as a hottie can be. Te Amo, Senora Pelosi!
I think her plastic surgeon stretch that skin on her empty dead skull to tight.
I thought she was going to credit the fine work of political consultant and soon to be burger flipper, American Poltico, for her new found optimism.
*WOW* America's Politico has logged on twice, and now s/he's not only adding humour, but also now horror! Pelosi a HOTTIE!?!?!?! Wow, dood/doodette
Te Amo indeed... patooie!
Force equals momentum over time: F = mv/tRearranging, it's clear that just a month or two will suffice to overwhelm her momentum:F x t > mv

Why do both parties insist on having lightning rods for criticism and/or blithering tools heading up respective sides in Congress? Has it always been this way?
The usual Limbozo-head type of rage against Miss Pelosi can only be called the M-word (....Misogyny), tho' with elements of racism and catholic bashing as well. The GOP biz types don't really have any substantive criticism to make--he merely whines (verboten per CEO Limbozo hisself). Reversing BushCo's tax slashes for the wealthy from '03 or so is more than warranted, for one.
Commenter J has collected a book's worth of leftist hackery, ad hominem attack disguised as some sort of holier-than-thou defense, and extreme misunderstanding of economic reality into a pithy paragraph.I salute you, J, because that kind of conciseness is not easy. Your blowhard kindred spirit Karl Marx certainly didn't have your most excellent abilities.
Totally agree with her. Just like driving a car off a 1000 ft cliff. You got the momentum with you. Not worth what you get at 1001 feet though.
El Pollo Real-Stop with the physics, dude!!! It's a full moon out... and the equinox... adding physics to that could drive you NUTTY!?;!?!.Pelosi is obviously experiencing a hefty uncertainty in her measurement of momentum. This would mean that she knows her position quite precisely. But she ain't saying nothing about that; note how she refuses to answer the question about it.
Touched a nerve! You're the ad hominem specialists--ie count the ad homs against Pelosi above--and having your usual hysteria fit. And anyone who thinks supply-side econ is like some worked out or scientific (hah hah) system needs to go back to like Peoria JC. BushCo tax slashes in 03 were nearly as seditionist as his WMD lies--and funny, timed just right--the oil boys and speculators could get their bets in the stocks and futures when the War kicked off.
"and also hot as a hottie can be"The necrophiliac vote is a niche market at best. Even in San Francisco.
J -- Everything you have written here has been wrong.I will play in one particularly fun instance, though. How can the tax cuts be seditious when Bush was president and he and the Congress created the tax cuts properly under law? Further, a cut in tax rates is not a tax cut unless the economy remains stagnant or decreases in size (like under Obama). Ten percent of $10 is less than nine percent of $12.Incidentally, http://blog.heritage.org/2010/02/05/past-deficits-vs-obamas-deficits-in-pictures/
Seven asked:"Why do both parties insist on having lightning rods for criticism and/or blithering tools heading up respective sides in Congress? "IMO it's overexposure. If they took my advice, the leaders would minmize their time at a microphone and focus on getting the message out via the internet. I get sick of seeing these "leaders" no matter the party especially when nothing seems to ever get fixed. If I was president, I'd shut down the White House press room. What good is it in this day & age? A pure anachronism. [Go Phils!]
I'm in the LA area, actually, ese. Miss Althouse's site was previously visited by at least a few rational people at times--now the tea-bag zombies have arrived! Maybe you can like offer some economic critique based on the Book of Mormon, or some of Hagee's sermons. Again, the attacks on Pelosi are nothing substantial-- just the usual Limbozo hick rhetoric. She's wrong...because she's wrong! (or maybe a ...marian, per Rev Hogee) and wants to raise goldanged taxes
"The usual Limbozo-head type of rage against Miss Pelosi..."Miss Pelosi? What, did her husband finally wise up and dump her for a woman who doesn't sound a snare-drum timbre when tapped?
Momentum is simply mass times velocity. Enhanced governmental bloat will increase momentum simply by increasing the mass.
"Demland is victorious on all fronts!" - N. Pelosi
"Miss Althouse's site was previously visited by at least a few rational people at times--now the tea-bag zombies have arrived!"Miss Althouse??The tea bag zombies have arrived, and not only have they thoroughly choked you with their balls, but they've eaten your brains as well.Happy November!
raise goldanged taxesIn a horrific recession when the fed already can't print enough money. Brilliant! Let's put up a bunch of trade barriers, too. Maybe raise interest rates and take everybody's gold. Getting any of the connections, J? Or are you too uneducated?
No, you're wrong Machos. And you don't know f**k about texass oil men, or the GOP backroom boys, or Bush's pal Billy Thomas, who orchestrated the tax cuts. And if it's just...majority rules...then the current congress has just as much right to reverse the tax cuts
Right up there with, "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it".1jpb said...To me this reads like boilerplate R BS. The biggest tell is that they claim they're taking 100Billion out of soc/medicare/non-disc at the exact same time they have candidates attacking BHO for cutting Medicare. The issue is how and where. The Zero is robbing Medicare to pay for ZeroCare.
Now that's some invigorating discussion there, J. Must have been awesome having you around during the Althouse Golden Era, what with how you add to the debate and all.
Miss is polite and like civil even for married women, Palladian the Xtian. Can be used for Miss Althouse, Miss Pelosi, or Miss Palladian.Lamanites in da house, y'all!
In the Althouse Golden Era, it was always just Althouse, even for super polite and civil people like you who call people faggots and beseech them to suck your cock.
1) Miss is for unmarried womyn, J; and2) And Althouse is a 1970's feminist, so I'd use "Ms"...
I don't think she understands Newtonian physics. Maybe she's just issuing a warning to others not to mention defeat in her presence. Kind of Darth Maderish.
How about fuckface? I mean, as long as you being super polite and civil and not calling anybody names or attacking or anything like that. Let's keep the conversation genteel, the way you like, J.
You don't know f**k about politics, little man Machos. "Cutting taxes" does not add up to a political ideology. And you don't understand Pelosi's agenda, which is hardly radical. She simply represents many things the good ol boy GOPers detest--a whipping gal, as Hillary was in 90s (thanx to...Limbozo). Maybe sashay yr way back over to your fave Curtis Silwa .com site
Perhaps Ms. Galore is correct - we won't know until the votes are counted. But eventually we will know who the big 'mo favors.WV: promph - faster than amateur mph.
"Cutting taxes" does not add up to a political ideology.Neither does demanding that the military cut and run or passing draconian, Byzantine laws that brilliantly solve the health care problem by making it illegal not to have insurance. But limited government is most certainly a political ideology. Anyway, kind sir who never utters an unkind word, I thought Obama was a pragmatist. What's this shit I hear now about ideology?
"Miss Palladian"?What do you have in mind, J?
J is this all your side has, "limbozo", BushCo, oil conspiracies??Man you keep on posting, I laughing...not with yo, but AT you!?You and Jeremy are going to be such good buds...
Pelosi ment the 'momentum' was upon us, not 'with us'. See that makes it logical. Otherwise it makes her look like a raving moonbat, and we can't have the public thinking Democrats are moonbats, right?
In Pelosi's defense, what else is she going to say? "We're totally boned!"?(Actually, she could be gracious and say that the Loyal Opposition would doubtless benefit from the discomfort so much of America feels, but that makes it even much more important for the people who believe in what the Democratic Party is trying to accomplish to get out and vote in November. But saying that would require the political savvy of a Jack Russell terrier, and Pelosi loses that competition.)
oil conspiracies...hmmm. Bush golfing pals were like Lee Raymond of Exxon, and others, Halliburton (also Cheney's cronies), Bechtel, and does Enron ring a bell? Probably not. Bush also had many ties to BP (as does Palin)--. And it's probably just a coincidence that Exxon posted the largest quarterly profits, like, in American history when their boy Dubya was at the reins-- as did the crude oil prices. Then, who the F. cares. Truth, historical accuracy/reporting, Reason itself are bad for business.
Uh... well, a lot of Republicans (cough Hugh Hewitt cough) were telling soothing lies before November, 2006. Maybe not lies, because they believed it.
Seven Machos wrote: "[A] cut in tax rates is not a tax cut unless the economy remains stagnant or decreases in size (like under Obama). Ten percent of $10 is less than nine percent of $12."Correct. But you fail to realize that to Pelosi, Obama, Reid et al. revenue is the least important aspect of taxation.
If by momentum she means the tide at strong ebb.
I like that a person who pops up and calls people misogynists, racists and catholic bashers for opposing and making fun of a politician then proceeds to make their own derogatory, anti-gay and misogynist comments. In other words, a bigot, but for the left, so it's o.k.!
'You're a dirty cock-sucking faggot bitch for opposing the Democrat agenda, Miss Seven Machos!'
The momentum is with us. We are out there to dispel many of the misrepresentations that have been going out there for nearly two years by the Republicans and the special interests, the oil industry, the health insurance industry, the banks and their allies.Misrepresentations? There ain't no misrepresentations. The truth is stranger than any lies that could be made up. No need for misrepresentations. The lady is psychotic.About as much momentum as a donkey stuck in a mud pit.
J -- Is your argument about oil? Really? Okay, well, let's get it straight. 1. George W. Bush conspired with mysterious oil executives to raise the price of oil in order to boost oil company profits. 2. George W. Bush is no longer president and cannot be president and is certainly not running for any office anywhere in 2010.3. Oil and gas prices are still incredibly high, even though Brilliant Obama is president.4. Therefore, attack George W. Bush to get people to vote for Democrats in 2010.Your political acumen is without equal. Truly, you are shrewd.
'And a racist and misogynist Libozo-fellater to boot, you cracker faggot maricon!'
"The momentum is with us."Nothing less than an in-your-face display of her utter contempt for the electorate.
"4. Therefore, attack George W. Bush to get people to vote for Democrats in 2010."That's about all the Mobies have to run with. Unfortunately for them, Obama is making Bush look better and better every day. Fearless prediction: since voters can't vote directly against Obama in this cycle, Democratic losses will be even larger than predicted on the eve of the election as people vote against anyone even vaguely associate with the Big O.
Joe,You and Jeremy are going to be such good buds...You mean J isn't Jeremy? Wow, they must've been separated at birth.
So is J actually AlphaLib reborn?
7M- I'd suggest following the rule that ye need not spend more posts on a troll than it takes to realize it be a troll. I think it be Jeremy, abbreviated in both letters and intellect. If it not be, it be near enough as makes no difference. Ye have been down this path 'afore, and it be a path of Althousian wrath. Ye be put 'afore the mast with the cat on ye back.Yarrr.More grog.
J wrote: Chupame, putoWow, that Spanish is beyond my pay grade!
Ye are right, John Lynch.
She might have a point. Just a few weeks ago the Gallup generic Congressional poll had the GOP +10. Now it's Dems +1. I think it's a combination of 2 things:- negative reaction to the Beck rally- MSM/Democrat machine has gone on a big anti tea party offensiveSo yeah we despise Cruella Pelosi but she's right.
I think what happened is people saw the Beck Rally was "Social Conservatives is #1 in the GOP" and were revulsed. I'm taking about swing-voter types.
I think Rep. Pelosi is mistaking gravity for momentum
The momentum is with us.and all your base are belong to us.
Pelosi is so out of a job no matter what happens. Even if the Democrats keep their majority, it will be in spite of her.House Speakers have a limited shelf life. They inevitably become lightning rods.Tom DeLay was smart enough to outsource the job, but he still got thrown out.
Republicans are starting to get it?We've always had it. You just spent too many years believing your own side's propaganda.
Step aside? If her party loses, she will be tossed on the scrap heap of history, where she belongs.Does Botox really affect your brain that way?
I think Pelosi needs to stop taking Napa Valley wine tours.
Seven, I have said it before- never argue with an idiot- j - they will bring you down to their own level and beat you every time.
Why do I constantly fall for this shit? I'm like an addict. Just one more hit, man. Just one more ride.
...But wait, that's not all. if you call now, you also get Harry (the war is lost) Reid, Obamacare, cap and trade and card check. All for the low low price of 50% of your hard earned money...plus shipping and handling.
John ftw:"Momentum just like the cat on the way to the dead cat bounce."
Although this was quite nice, also:c3:"I think Rep. Pelosi is mistaking gravity for momentum."
Alex,I wouldn't put too much stock in Gallup. They're still polling registered voters instead of likely IIRC. They're also among the bottom of the polling firms in terms of reliable predictions. PPP and Rasmussen seem to be on top of things right now.
I think it's a combination of 2 things:It is a combination of 1 thing: the primaries are wrapping up, and "generic Republican" and "generic Democrat" are being replaced with actual people. They're no longer measuring the Democrat they have vs. the Platonic Ideal of a Republican opponent. :)
May the Momentum be with you all.
Wile E. Coyote always built up a lot of momentum when he fell off a cliff. It's not the fall that will kill you, you know; it's the hard landing at the end.
You do tend to build up a lot of momentum after you go off the precipice.
"Wile E. Coyote always built up a lot of momentum when he fell off a cliff. It's not the fall that will kill you, you know; it's the hard landing at the end."Let's hope the laws of gravity have a more lasting effect on the Democrats, and especially Ms. Pelosi, than they do on Wile E. Coyote. He never seems to stay dead.
I've always thought the only thing Ms. Pelosi has going for her is she has a nice rack. But, she keeps those girls wrapped up tighter her forehead.
You have more momentum going downhill and out of control. This is why we have runaway truck ramps: to control the momentum of trucks without brakes.I say we build some sort of safety device and get the Democrats off of the effing road before they kill us all.
She knows where the ballots are buried.
As Democrats get the bum's rush out of Congress, Pelosi thinks it's the people lifting them up on their shoulders. What an optimist.
¡Viva Pelosi! :]
