"... in a special website and video announcement wherein he lays out his plan for protecting the freedom and openness of the Internet."
AND: Ted Cruz takes the other side: "Net Neutrality' is Obamacare for the Internet; the Internet should not operate at the speed of government."

Government did, though.
Life is short. I'm done.
Fox News viewer meets reality.
Net Neutrality Timeline.
Don't trust Obama but Cruz does not know what he is talking about..
Notice that the FCC chair was a lobbyist for Comcast.
Obama says 'this is what I want, wink, wink' but votes present, read the excerpt:
"The president also referred to the outpouring of support for an open Internet from the American public as justification for his position on the issue. He did warn that he has no control over the FCC, and as such, his recommendations are mere suggestions. Still, presidential support for the reclassification of Internet as a utility may have an effect when combined with overwhelming demand from consumers.
“The FCC is an independent agency, and ultimately the decision is their’s alone,” Obama added. “But the public has already commented nearly 4 million times asking that consumers — not the cable company — gets to decide which sites they use.”
Chattanooga shows how its done. Big TV tried to stop them and still may.
Some much for the "free market".

And.....what? Comcast hates net neutrality. With a passion.

I'm re-posting your link:
FCC Plans Stealth Internet Tax Increase
aha. The sweet spot. Tax increases.
Hey Garage, you inadvertently are making my point for me. Do you want me to spell it out? FCC chair is a lobbyist for cable companies and guess what happened on Apr 23:
"2014: The FCC attacks Net neutrality
April 23: FCC issues Internet fast lane proposal"
And Obama slapped the FCC chair ever so gently on his wrist while saying wink, wink to his Comcast golfing buddy.
"Do you want me to spell it out"
Don't waste your time.
Hey Garage, you inadvertently are making my point for me. Do you want me to spell it out? FCC chair is a lobbyist for cable companies and guess what happened on Apr 23:
1.Obama appoints Comcast lobbyist as FCC Chair
2. Obama instructs FCC Chair not to adopt what Comcast wants
3. ?????
4. Profit
The idea that "net neutrality" can be defined by the most fiercely partisan and retaliatory administration since Wilson is simply absurd.

Hey, no one will be angrier than Obama when he reads the news and finds out his goon did exactly what he told him not to. Seriously, you guys.
And hey, Garage, what's the good word on your John Doe investigations being shut down? When are the perp walks scheduled?
Contrary to extraordinary efforts by the Left to mask their identity and methods, formation of authoritarian monopolies is a tenet of left-wing ideology.
Conservatives have no idea what net neutrality even is. Nor do they care.
net neutrality seeks to the solve the onerous problem of freedom without government intervention.
Unfortunately, for Obama, and consumers of Internet bandwidth, not all packets are created equal. Net neutrality is basically an argument against affirmative action (i.e. prioritization or discrimination) for packets. Obama ignores this in order to secure support from his crony interests. Exactly as he did with Obamacare that ensured medical care would be neither universal nor affordable, other than through a short-term Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac effect of redistributive debt.
T-mobile recently announced a plan to give away free routers to all of their customers. This could eventually create city-wide WiFi for their customers and greatly enhance their experience. But, if Net Nutrality is the law of the land, the project will grind to a halt. For, you see, these routers prioritize T-mobile calling data, which the FCC will be at liberty to proclaim verboten. What motivation would they have for continuing the project?
The democrats turn everything into Fannie and Freddie. Good point.
It is a solution in search of a problem, and anytime we see something like this, the thing to do is look for stakeholders, and see what they are going for. Which is to say that it is all about money - the money that the stakeholders are trying to give to the politicians to get some sort of edge over their competition.
So what if some carriers throttle their more egregious bandwidth users or abusers? Where we are headed is tiered pricing, where you pay extra for (somewhat) guaranteed higher bandwidth access. Which, I would suggest, is just what we want. Companies already pay to play. Why shouldn't the individual market go the same way? Why should those of us who rarely stream (and when we do, don't do it HD, because in my case, I couldn't tell the difference), pay for the bandwidth utilized by people who use huge amounts of it through gaming or HD watching? The only reason that I see is the conjunction of politicians with their hands out, and companies figuring that they can avoid tiered pricing, and not having to compete on such, by buying politicians.

Suppose you explain it to us. Go into as much detail as you can. Be as technical as you like.
We'll try and keep up.
The situation is pretty simple. Obama and democrats want more government control over internet. Conservatives want less. Obama promises a lot of nice things with "Internet Neutrality", just as when he promised that you can keep your insurance if you like your insurance, than the premiums will go down by $3000. As one of the architects of Obamacare noted, it was soled based on lies to stupid people. And same stupid people who bought Obamacare are now buying Internet Neutrality.
"Conservatives have no idea what net neutrality even is. Nor do they care. "
You felt same way when we told you that Obama's promise "if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance" was bogus. Remember?
