I still don't think he is going to resign either as president or candidate.

But if he does, it will be no more than an hour or 3 before pdjt's speech tomorrow

I just noticed the new moderation policy. It sounds reasonable, but isn't it a shame that it's necessary?

Biden calling in sick may be the first step to quitting.

Regarding the announcement that Biden is ill: he can't just step down and admit that he's defeated; he has to save face. Like the wicked witch of the west declared, "these things must be done delicately".

So, to paraphrase the old joke:

Q: How's Joe Biden doing?

A: Um, er... he got stuck on the roof!

I saw the news about an ex-CIA analyst being accused of spying for South Korea. I honestly didn’t read past the headlines.

But I just learned that she is Max Boot’s wife! That is utterly insane.

Max Boot, of course, was one of the more vocal never-Trumpers several years ago.

It sure seems like some divine favor, and retribution for his enemies, is resting upon the Donald.

On MSN.com in a video news item, for the first tenth of a second there is a picture of Donald Trump with his head bloody, but his face modified to be contorted in anger, giving the viewer the finger, rather than raising his fist.

it's Trump though, who is bringing down the level of debate. And it's not Biden who is building this atmosphere of hatred.

Perhaps the strangest precedent for the Malaysian Airlines crash in Ukraine is a shoot-down in 2001 caused by military forces in … Ukraine. On October 4, 2001, 64 Siberia Airlines passengers and 12 crew members onboard a Soviet-made Tupolev Tu-154 en route from Novosibirsk to Tel Aviv were killed when the plane was shot down over the Black Sea by a Ukrainian missile.

It took a while for Ukraine to admit that was what had happened, but after pressure from Russian investigators, Ukraine's then-president, Leonid Kuchma, accepted that the Ukrainian military was at fault.

when JD's Mamaw died, they found 19 (NINETEEN) loaded guns all over her house [she was frail and wanted a gun near her wherever in the house] and I just turned to my hubby and said there is NO Way Kamala can beat that. Are you going to take Mamaw's guns away from her Kamala? Take away her feeling of security and safety?? Fuck No.

Kamala is toast.

Great speeches by Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Marco Rubio at the RNC Convention. All excellent. Despite the insulting things Trump said to push them out of way when they were all competing for the Republican nomination in 2016, and despite their own obvious superior talents and intellects, they each expressed deep respect and appreciation for Trump and for his inspirational leadership. I was really moved by those gentlemen.

And here's imTay omitting essential information as usual.

From the Wikipedia article on Siberia Airlines Flight 1812: "The crash was caused by a missile launched during joint Ukrainian-Russian military air-defence exercises at the Russian-controlled training ground of the 31st Russian Black Sea Fleet Research center on Cape Opuk near the city of Kerch in Crimea." imTay doesn't mention the Russian involvement!

A bit further down: "Initial private assessments by American military officials determined that the crash was caused by an S-200 missile that had overshot its target drone—which had been destroyed successfully by an S-300 fired at the same time—and instead of self-destructing, locked on the passenger plane about 250 kilometres (160 mi) further away and detonated 15 metres (50 ft) over the plane."

Finally, "Russian officials dismissed the American claim as 'unworthy of attention,' and Russian president Vladimir Putin told the press the next day that 'the weapons used in those exercises had such characteristics that make it impossible for them to reach the air corridor through which the plane was moving.' Ukrainian military officials initially denied that their missile had brought down the plane; they reported that the S-200 had been launched seaward and had successfully self-destructed. Defense ministry spokesman Konstantin Khivrenko noted that 'neither the direction nor the range (of the missiles) correspond to the practical or theoretical point at which the plane exploded.'"

"However, some Ukrainian officials later admitted that their military had probably shot down the airliner." (And paid commpensation.)

If Wikipedia is correct - and the article is heavily footnoted - then it is not true that Ukraine admitted fault "after pressure from Russian investigators", as imTay writes, but that the Russians denied it, too, and kept denying it.

Most pertinently, no one was trying to shoot the airliner down, which was so far down-range they had no idea it was there. It was a tragic and unintended screw-up. MH 17 was shot down intentionally by Igor Girkin (the same guy who seized Crimea in a military coup), who couldn't be bothered to check whether it was a civilian plane or not. He probably assumed that if it was a civilian plane, it was Ukrainian, and he could kill a bunch of enemy civilians, as Russia has been avidly doing ever since.

imTay should really stop writing about Ukraine, about which he knows nothing.

@Wa St. Blogger, at Kim Cheatle’s level she serves “at the pleasure of the President.” Thus we can infer that her job performance has given Joe Biden no displeasure.

They found a former roommate who ended up not liking JD in school and so gave him some time to air his grievances. Just embarrassing.

A Carnegie Mellon University professor claims the Trump assassination was staged.

Anya, an associate professor of second language acquisition, posted the comment a couple of hours after Trump suffered a wound to his right ear in the shooting at the Butler rally. She offered the claim without specific substantiation.

“I went to prison so you won’t have to. I am your WAKE-UP CALL.”

"Navarro outlined how they weaponized the January 6 Committee against him, demanding he break executive privilege.

What did I do? I refused. The J6 Committee demanded that I betray Donald John Trump to save my own skin: I refused.

Here's the thing about the Constitution: they demanded that I break the law, because they had no respect for it.

I refused, and the Democrat majority in the House voted to hold me in contempt.

Navarro then explained how the Executive Branch was corrupted and used against him, citing Attorney General Merrick Garland. "There's a winner," Navarro joked.

For decades, for decades, the Department of "Injustice" right now. The Department of Justice policy stated, hear me out on this, if Congress slaps a subpoena on a senior White House adviser like me, the adviser's duty is to politely tell them to, "Go. Pound. Sand." That's exactly what I did.

Navarro explained how the Judicial Branch lobbed the final blow. Activist judges stripped him of every possible defense, packed his jury with D.C. loyalists, and it was a done deal. Navarro was bloody but unbowed.

"Guess what? They did not break me!" - Peter Navarro.

'From the Wikipedia article"

You know who spends a great deal of time editing Wikipedia? Ukrainian propagandists.

imTay said...

The article I helpfully gave the link for also mentions an Italian commercial flight that was shot down by a "stray missile" from NATO, which a former Italian Prime Minister has said was shot down in an attempt to kill Qaddafi.

Regarding the Malaysian Air flight, no commercial aircraft should have been flying over a hot war zone where fighters and bombers were actively being shot at. I put the blame on whoever was responsible for the flight path of that plane. As has been mentioned elsewhere, the US Navy shot down an Iranian flight.

I am not going to get into the weeds on Wikipedia spin, but the Ukrainian military launched the missile that shot down that civilian flight. You can blame the Russians all you want, I know you will, but we know who launched the missile.

In other words, shit happens, but the assassination attempt on Gaddafi, that killed dozens of innocent civilians goes down by far as the worst on the list. Korean Air was shot down in Soviet territory without permission.

There is a claim that the "radio intercept" of the Russian militia people cheering over the shootdown, provided by Ukrainian intelligence, actually came from a weeks earlier kill of a Ukrainian bomber. The most important part of that sentence is that aircraft were being shot down in that area, so once again, what was that flight doing in a war zone? Doesn't really matter who pulled the trigger.
