Julliard cello student plays Faure op 109 (first movement) for a master class, does better than the master's corrections.

Everything on pitch, no sliding notes (bowing while moving finger to a higher or lower note).

Excellent audio balance - the cello is not in fact the solo instrument as the piano supplies most of the lines. Cellists like to overpower the piano.

In college in the '80s (a state school) I would usually cut through the music building next to my main building. I liked hearing various people practice and get out of the heat/rain.

I heard a lovely cello coming from the small performance auditorium and went in to listen.

There was a guy on stage practicing (I later found out for a concert that night) and I was pretty much the only one there.

I sat in the front row and listened for awhile. I'd never hear a solo cello like this and the sound and emotion was really astounding.

I was late for class so I left, but saw the poster for Yo Yo Ma on my way out of the building : )

Congratulations to the Florida Panthers on earning their first Stanley Cup, and keeping it out of Canada again.

A little earlier this evening, my hometown Hershey Bears captured their 13th Calder Cup in team history--their 2nd in a row.

Went to McDavid's house for drinks
But there were no cups

Gee, I wonder why they went against tradition and didn't give the Conn Smyth trophy, to the goalie, Bobrovsky, who carried the Panthers to the cup, and who stole game 1 from Edmonton almost single handedly, partly by shutting down McDavid, which he did in the three other games Edmonton. It was a rare case of it going to the loser. Could not be that the NHL got a phone call.

Joe Biden would have been charged with a felony except the prosecutors decided he didn't know what he was doing any more. This is why the Dems are running Joe again. He doesn't even know what he himself is doing, let alone the people around him. He can never be called to account and so, since the ultimate responsibility is his, neither can they.
Is someone slow walking arms shipments to Israel? If Biden authorized that, Biden wouldn't know. Did Biden authorize a "combined arms offensive" which did not include effective air power a year ago in the Ukraine? He doesn't think so although that happened while he was Commander-in-Chief. Is Biden using regulatory powers to force Americans into buying electric cars which they cannot afford and for which there are an insufficient number of charging stations supposing the average American could afford the cars; and for which there would not be not enough power coming from the windmills to charge the cars supposing there were a sufficient number of charging stations. Biden doesn't know about that.
Groceries and gas are cheap now because inflation has slowed down and reports of crime have decreased which is the same as a decrease in actual crime, so it's all good - Joe Biden can't remember any reasons not to think that way.
He's really running from being President, not running for President - but he really doesn't know it.

After Russian opera singers were fired from their gigs for being Russian, the NHL stuck by their Russian superstars, and I was even pleasantly surprised that the NHL channel let Bobrovsky give a shout out to the folks back home, and no, they can’t take the Stanley Cup win away, but a trophy with vague criteria? Sure they can toss out the tradition of it! After all, they did it one time this way back in the middle of the 20th century!

They want us to hate Russians, and it must have steamed the neocons’ onions to see a Finn and a Russian warmly hug each other in mutual joy and respect in such a moment of happiness.

Typically winners (players) of the Stanley Cup get a day or two with the cup itself to take to their hometown. Where is Bobrovsky, aka Bob, going with his day with the cup? Novokuznetsk, Russia? Prolly not.

As much as I like McDavid, it does my heart good to keep the Stanley Cup out of Canada and by extension, away from Trudeau.

From an article by Jazz Shaw in hotair.com:

Boeing initially reported "a small helium leak" on the launch pad but deemed it to be too small to represent a flight safety risk. But now they are saying that there were a total of five leaks. During the flight, they reported "a thruster failure." But it turns out that five of the thrusters failed, though they eventually got four of them working again. They believe that the thrusters overheated during the docking attempt, but they still don't seem to be entirely sure.

Looks like Boeing’s managers have the same casual attitude towards people dying in their spacecraft as they have demonstrated towards people dying in their aircraft.

Bobrovsky probably cemented the Hall of Fame with this Cup win. He has 2 Vezina Trophies and has been great for a long time.
Who can forget Bobrovsky's shootout duel with Jonathan Quick, when T.J. Oshie kept going, and going, and going, in the 2014 Olympics? I hate hockey shootouts, but that one was a doozy.

HOLY SH*T: Special Counsel Jack Smith just admitted the FBI added cover sheets to alleged classified documents found at MAL and took photos for evidence.

This confirms my report from last month that the FBI doctored evidence to produce stunt photos of classified docs at MAL:

That bag of chips that used to be $1.98 is now four dollars. And gas is up 75% since Biden took office. Doesn't seem cheap to me.
