News media lies about Trump.

Evidently, CNN, MSNBC, and many other outlets report more falsehoods than truths regarding Trump and Biden, the difference being the lies about Trump are uniformly hostile and malicious, while the lies about Biden are intended to obscure his dementia, deflect from his incompetence, and disguise and discredit his history of graft and corruption.

This bizarre subversion of the concept of news reportage needs an explanation. Are J-school professors just a crowd of high-paid yahoos without common sense enough to know Shinola from the shit even supermarket tabloids would be loathed to publish? (Shit, even Elvis sightings are more credible than the raving of Rachael Maddow.) Or are they teaching their students to deceive? If so, why? And what can Americans do to save their traditions of accurate, fair, yet aggressive journalism?

Today I learned about a collection of climate activists in London preventing a woman from getting her sick child to a hospital, even though she begged and pleaded, and even though she was driving an EV!

It seems to me that hanging is too good for people like that -- burning at the stake seems more appropriate. Had the child died, I'd advocate for a punishment even worse than that.

Texts Show Ginni Thomas’s Embrace of Conspiracy Theories
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/26/us/politics/ginni-thomas-donald-trump.html

"Virginia Thomas, wife of Clarence Thomas, justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, sent a bizarre text to Donald Trump’s chief of staff, her old friend Mark Meadows. It read: “Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators (elected officials, bureaucrats, social media censorship mongers, fake stream media reporters, etc) are being arrested & detained for ballot fraud right now & over coming days & will be living in barges off GITMO [Guantánamo Bay] to face military tribunals for sedition"

One might widen the gaze and say that in the ever-increasing greatly expanded information space, there are going to be wacko neighborhoods, places infused with the black magic of dark conspiracy.

A vast information space must be assumed a permanent feature going forward, therefore the "kitemarking" concept should be pursued and expanded so that all participants have some opportunity to see and hear all the voices in the public square, not just a few. There's too much self-reinforcing self-selection going on today (which is a form of censorship that is self-created and what is worse subject to manipulation by others).

A key feature of the coming Trump criminal trials is that speech (information beliefs) are unregulated and not subject to public censorship but that actions are subject to strict accountability; otherwise a functioning, interacting human society becomes impossible.

The best inoculation against conspiracy theories from the fringe infecting the broader political process with a view of overthrowing democratic governance in favor of some reactionary "elite" is to stigmatize political parties with defeat who peddle extremist doctrines.

Trump rode a populist wave into power -- and populist is very people based -- and then tried to leverage that people power into an autocratic overthrow, which is the opposite of being people based. One would expect most of Trump's populist base to erode down to a much narrower conspiracist base as additional information is exposed in the public square. If that doesn't happen, then some very harrowing questions are in the offing.

One question might be whether or not the plutocracy is using their money as Supreme Court sanctioned free speech to overthrow a democracy supposedly based on free speech? The opening anecdote about Virginia Thomas raises disturbing questions. We now know who her husband works for. Who does she work for?

I am still convinced that the election in November will not be Trump vs. Biden. And considering their age, I can see several nightmare scenarios for the professional politicians should both conventions nominate the current contenders.

IMHO- to prevent a Constitutional crisis, both parties ought ensure there is at least one faithless elector casting a vote for an acceptable party candidate. Possibly for the VP nominee, possibly for someone else. I would suggest a governor, not a senator or other legislator.

Seems the new guidance for covid is- treat it like it's the flu! Just like many of us evil unvaccinated (not that the covid shot was actually a vaccination) were saying from the beginning. Seems we were right about a lot of things. A big one- which many actual doctors were saying is that a non-sterilizing vaccine (the covid shot) would force rapid evolution of the first prevalent coronavirus into many other forms to evade the shots completely, and that's what happened. If you've had 2 or more shots of the vaccine that isn't, you are far more likely to get any coronavirus then us evil unvaccinated, and it seems to be trending to far more likely to get any URI.

The media and the government and the medical establishment pretended and lied and said all the antivax movement were nothing more than anti-government conspiracy theorists. When to be a doubter required simply knowing two undeniable facts.

Fact 1: Before the much touted vaccine that isn't, there had never ever been a successful vaccine against any coronavirus, for animals or humans, and many attempts in animals backfired bigly and made the problem worse.
Fact 2: There had never before been any successful attempt to use mRNA in any treatment for anything, and it often made the problem worse.

With Fact 1 and Fact 2, anyone coming out and saying- "In record time, with (minimal) testing, we have the most effective and safest vaccine ever developed that will stop covid!" They now deny they ever said it would stop covid. They deny they ever said vaccinating everyone would stop the spread of covid. And it turns out the study safety data now available shows they were lying about both safety and efficiency of the shots. So it turns out if you WERE a conspiracy theorist, you were right, because all that data was known by many in government and private industry- and they still pushed universal "vaccination".

A few other things they lied about- and it comes from the Diamond Princess and the USS Theodore Roosevelt debacle and how the Navy handled it- the virus wasn't nearly as contagious as advertised (but the non-sterilizing vaccine cured that...) and the dreaded covid wasn't nearly as deadly as advertised.

Pennsylvania court drops injunction against Amish farmer who suffered from police raid

"Pennsylvania court drops injunction against Amish farmer who suffered from police raid

A court in Pennsylvania dropped an injunction against an Amish farmer, who suffered a police raid last month for selling milk in violation of government regulations, but blocked them from selling raw milk to the public.

County Judge Thomas Sponaugle ruled on Friday that the injunction against Amos Miller's farm was lifted following a battle with the state's agriculture department and Attorney General Michelle Henry.

The lawsuit alleged that Miller's raw milk products had been connected to E. coli outbreaks in two other states.

Those reports led to a raid of Miller's farm in early January, followed by a lawsuit from the agriculture department.

Following the hearing, the judge ruled that Miller is allowed to sell his farm's raw to "immediate family," but is blocked from marketing and selling their products to the public.

The judge also ruled that Miller's farm must allow the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to "inspect, draw records, draw samples [and] conduct tests."

"This court cannot ignore this Commonwealth's regulations requiring a permit to sell raw milk," the ruling said.

Retail sale of raw milk is illegal in 23 states, and producing it in Pennsylvania requires a license.

"For years, this business has brushed off efforts to bring its commercial farm operation into compliance with the law — as all commercial farms are required to do," Henry argued at the filing of the lawsuit.
"

More at the link, but I'll add that there may be more to the story. There's a legal process for getting a raw milk permit here in PA, and it sounds like the farmer may not have followed it. The PA Department of Ag may have overreacted, though, so it's possible no one here has clean hands

We're expecting some more global warming goodness this morning and tomorrow. When we not getting snow this week, low temperatures are in the mid-20s to mid-30s. That's about 10F lower than normal for early March.

The so-called climate models are "not worth a bucket of warm piss", as John Nance Garner once said about the Vice Presidency. They ignore solar-driven energy changes and violate the conservation of energy and black-body energy laws.

But, what's a few physics law violations among friends, right? Democrat/Barbarians violate the law all the time, so why shouldn't the climate models the D/Bs love also violate the laws.

Re Quaestor comment on J Schools:

I was in J School mid-sixties. Actual J was taught. Other aspects of public communication were present and emphasized situationally.

Actual J began circling the drain as involvement in Vietnam increased. Cronkite performed Last Rites after assigning victory to the wrong party after the Tet Offensive.

There's an interesting piece on this at Powerline today (3 Mar)

Now, J School is about teaching advocacy. Period.
