If he's American, why are you calling him "an Asian man."

You know, it's so dumb to accuse Trump of political crimes like this and to fail to make sure you're not committing the same damned crime you want us to be so outraged about it. The genius here is Greg Sargent at WaPo:
President Trump’s new campaign ad attacking Joe Biden as soft on China and coronavirus is drawing attention for its ugly xenophobia. As many have noted, in order to portray Biden as weak and overly deferential toward China — and, by extension, toward coronavirus — the ad shows Biden bowing to an Asian man with Chinese flags in the background.

The man turns out to be American.
Asian man!! He's American!

I've already talked about that ad — here, in a post that went up at 6:00 a.m. — so I'm not going into any more detail. I just wanted to laugh at Greg Sargent.

Because if you criticize the Chinese Communists, you're being Racist. Because countries that are made up of non-whites can't be criticized. And if you criticize Chinese Communists, that means you hate Americans of Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese descent. Crazy.

But y'know using Reason and logic to argue with a Democrat/leftist crying "racism" or "bigot" is a waste of time. They're all about propaganda, politics, and "liberal pushback". Its a weapon to attack their opponents and keep/gain power. All the name-calling has zero to do with "tolerance" and "concern for minorities". That's just boob bait.

Joe Biden isn't just soft on China. He's been bribed by China via his idiot son Hunter.

There's a big difference.

Trump will crush Biden. It won't even be close.

If Biden was a true patriot he'd concede the election to Trump now so we can all gear up as a united America and defeat COVID-19 without the distraction of an presidential election campaign.

Plus by conceding he could still claim that he would have won.

I think this proves you're a racist. (And the more you deny it, the more racist you are.)

I've officially concluded that whatever insults Democrats and their allies hurl at their opponents is what they -- the morally magnificent -- do and believe themselves. The venomous anger is directed at the mirror in front of them. Racist, conspiratorial, bigots, ___phobes, fake news, Russia meddling, rigged elections, climate deniers, the evils of Big _____, all of it. They're phonies and fools. They should go get teaching jobs at re-education camps in China. That's where they belong. They'll fit in just fine.

Secret Asian Man

There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets he stays a stranger
With every move he makes another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow

Secret Asian man, secret Asian man
They've given you a number and taken away your name

Beware of pretty faces that you find
A pretty face can hide an evil mind
Ah, be careful what you say
Or you'll give yourself away
Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow

Secret Asian man, secret Asian man
They've given you a number and taken away your name

Swingin' on the Riviera one day
And then layin' in the Bombay alley next day
Oh no, you let the wrong word slip
While kissing persuasive lips
The odds are you won't live to see tomorrow

Asian-American? 1/2 American? Fetal-American? Perhaps 50 shades or a monolithic bloc when politically congruent. Diversitists will indulge diversity.

Somebody swiped my idea of 6:45 am:

Then the NYeT says that "Mr. Locke is Chinese-American" so they really are claiming that he's not just "American".

We've seen a lot of stupid things during the Trump era but the media lining up behind the Communist tyrants of China against Trump, even after China is responsible for unleashing a pandemic and crashing the global economy, might just take the cake for idiocy.

I can't think of a political leader who benefited more from his enemies collectively losing their marbles whenever his name comes up.

I believe we have reached the point where China's exposure on the world stage in such a negative way with significant additional negative economic impacts coming, just might lead the ChiComs into believing now would be a great time for saber rattling with Taiwan and having their puppy on a leash, Woah Fat, start launching missiles again.

Those are examples of America Hating by Americans. Morally justified, of course, but it does not meet the definition of xenophobia.

Perfect, he also would have a harder time getting a white girl to marry him than a black man would, using average factors.

Fernandinande said...

If he's American, why are you calling him "an Asian man."

Because "Asian" denotes race, not citizenship, that's why.

"Asian" replaced the term "Mongoloid", just like Black replaced Negroid and White replaced Caucasoid.

White man!! He's American! Hilarity ensued.

Fernandinande said...

That was the basis of my crack about the NYeT saying "Chinese-American"; he's not Chinese if he's an American, but he could easily be Asian and be American.

Hey Greg Sargent, you're going through this embarrassment right now to protect Hunter Biden.
How do feel about that? A noble cause for sure.
Hey, here's an idea. You're a journalist. Use your journalism skills to look into what really happened and report on it. What do you think?

Hard to say what is the correct way to refer to Locke. Maybe like Viet Nuygen, he would take exception to being called an American. Being born here don't necessarily signify where your true allegiance (or "identity" as they like to say in The Democrat Party) lies.

The Godfather said...

Assuming this is the same video that AA posted at 6 am, the ONE SECOND that shows Biden and Locke is too short to show anyone bowing to anyone, but it does show that Locke was standing at a podium with an American Eagle on it. Either Locke is an American or he’s a Chinese turncoat.

As far as I can tell Greg Sargent writes a anti-trump screed every day. Its a broken record. His entire column could be replaced with a single sentence, and run daily:

"Orange Man Bad".

Just to rub it in, here are the racial categories in the 2020 census for American citizens to choose from:

White
Black or African American
American Indian or Alaska Native
Asian
Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander

Hey hey hey - you can also pick 'Other' for the census if you do not like the supplied categories, and fill in whatever you want. For my household, we all decided to be human beings, even the two cats (just so they would be counted).

The Trump ad on YouTube is excellent. I hope that any controversy regarding it causes more people to view it. I watched it several times to find this Locke person but it takes slo-motion replay and I'm still scratching my head if it matters.

I know some bay area liberals deeply unhappy with the democratic party's stance on China and the vulnerability that Joe Biden represents. "Happy Talk" from Greg Sargent only depresses them further about 2020. Post covid-19 No one has time for PC, racial, horseshit, any more. It's not even spiritually sustaining to the few true believers left.

China is hated the world over.
This is now a global standard.

I can vouch for much worse language being used re China and the Chinese people, to be fair about the mean spirited aspect of this, in Spain/Europe and the Philippines. And by all indications everywhere else.
Even in their client state of Pakistan.

The rest of the world exists, everything isn't about American party politics.

They'll go further than that. They'll write articles and thinkpieces about how this was perhaps the Most Democratic Primary ever. Sure, the actual voters were suckered, but the party followed the vagaries of public polling and ended up with (insert name here) based on the zeitgeist of the moment, which as we well know is the highlight of Democracy. That's why we have a "living Constitution", dontcha know?

That reminded me of living in Europe in the '90's where vestiges of anti-German sentiment still existed. Because I spoke German and could pass for a German, I experienced this firsthand in England then -- especially with older Britons. But I understood their animus. I don't understand animus towards the Chinese people -- yet -- but I draw the line at the Chinese government. Who is pro-CCP besides paid, corrupted hacks? Who admires Chinese communism and their snitch culture?

The rest of the world exists, everything isn't about American party politics.

Asute as usual and very worldly.
