"A sixth woman has come forward with a story about former president George H.W. Bush groping her — and says that he did so when she was only 16 years old."

"Roslyn Corrigan told Time that the incident occurred in November 2003."
“As soon as the picture was being snapped on the one-two-three he dropped his hands from my waist down to my buttocks and gave it a nice, ripe squeeze, which would account for the fact that in the photograph my mouth is hanging wide open,” she said. “I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, what just happened?'... I don’t know, maybe it never really hit people that I was a child at the time and that goes beyond a guy being inappropriate in the workplace to a peer or somebody in his age range... I was a child.”

So, after desparaging Trump, GHWB is outed as a groper. Instant Karma.

"I was a child"

This woman sounds troubled.
I don't like that she was groped, but "I was a child" is overly dramatic.

Are they sure she wasn't 14? That would get more attention.

At least he didn't grope her on camera, the way Biden gropes children while the TVs are recording, firm in the knowledge that as an important Democrat he will never be called to account.

This really has to stop. Report the crime in a timely manner or shut up (unless, of course, you have to shut up about it to advance your movie career, which I don't think applies in the case of George Bush).

A child that can get an abortion without parents' involvement, because autonomy?

Let’s lift the ban on the secret service reporting what they see. If they see a crime, they should make an arrest.

It's interesting that the claims against Roy Moore are all from 40 years ago, with nothing so far alleged to have occurred in the years since. The incidents involving and acknowledged by George HW Bush are much more recent, beginning when he was in his eighties.

It seems strange that a man in his thirties would outgrow the type of behavior attributed to Moore. And it seems even more unlikely that a man in his eighties would first develop the type of bad behavior attributed to Bush Sr.

So the Bush Dynasty exercises its Droit du Seigneure to squeeze on the bodies of other people's children. It's not like he had her shot down like a dog in the streets of Dallas.

Old Poppy is grabbing ass from a wheelchair.

I wonder how my wife would respond. She would either smack him, or possibly laugh it off.

He's old now and acting inappropriately. It is time for him to be watched. Carefully.

yeah, her mouth is hanging open just like the little girl in the photo when Biden groped her. where is the talk about that?

I could readily believe that Poppy has made a fool of himself by patting young ladies on the rump - but then, when the stories just keep getting better, I begin to wonder ...

Perhaps all these recent sexual harassment scandals are a warning to Joe Biden for 2020.

You know, all politicians are dopes. Some are dopier than others. How many guys did GHWB goose during photo ops?

I could try to rationalize why this isn't so bad, but I won't. My father, who was a few years older than GHWB, never did anything like this, and he made damn sure my brothers and I didn't either.

Agreed. Let's make a choice, shall we? Either a 16 year-old can determine whether she gets an abortion without parental consent because she's old enough to make her own choices. Or that same 16 year-old is a child who cannot be held responsible for her actions.

End the hypocrisy.

Do men now get to come forward with stories of women pressing their breasts against them?

My Italian grandfather married my grandmother, also from Italy, when she was 14 and he was 21. Good thing they have passed on, or else I'd have to compose some kind of apology screed for my mother's existence and my own. After all, we are the product of a vile, horrible thing!

I'm hoping for a Gold-Digger backlash. "She blinded me with her tits and pussy and before I knew it she cleaned out my savings account..."

I knew a guy in college who had a run in with a woman who became a famous athlete. She goosed him. Hard. And by goose, he said she reach from behind and squeezed his nut sack. Hard. The she laughed and laughed. So he goosed her back. Then they both laughed. Neither ran for office, and to the best of my knowledge, he has remained unscarred by the incident.

I've never understood why women want to be a me too, apparently the herd instinct is stronger than their common sense.

dreams said...

I wonder if it has ever occurred to these women that maybe they shouldn't be piling on an old man who can no longer defend himself. we've all had worse things happen to us in life.

And this article by Victor David Hanson applies.

"From One Frenzy to the Next"
"Hypocrisy and irony become endemic: the chargers of Russian collusion are the original colluders. The loud protesters who take a knee themselves became the targets of silent fan protests. The statue smashers can put up statues worse than what they tore down. The men who swear they are feminists do so because they are misogynists. The accuser is blamed for accusing, or for staying silent so long, or for exaggerating the ordeal; the silent non-accuser is assumed to have advanced a career through willful acquiescence. Who can sort out the crime, the collusion, the conspiracy?"

And it has come to this.

"The charges initially also ranged from horrific (and quite believable) allegations of rape and gross groping and assault to what used to be called male-power rudeness and bullying—and eventually including even the occasional crudity and stupidity that can accompany seduction."

Interesting how these revelations come out a few weeks after GW Bush dissed Trump.

Coincidence?

Does anybody believe that the girls who sent women to their deaths during the Salem witch trials were actually bewitched by the “witches” or just got caught up in the mass hysteria of the day?

There are men who abuse women. True. There are women who tell the truth about these events and delay exposure out of fear and shame. True. There are women who are willing to bear false witness for a perceived or promised gain. Also true.

Seems the recent Hollywood sacrificial lambs were just a set up to now accuse a broad range of GOP politicians and candidates of the same behavior. The swamp plays really dirty.
