At the Floating Althouse Café...

... you can talk all night.

(And thanks to Chip Ahoy for animating that picture Meade took today. And thanks to Meade for taking that picture... and for making the lawn so lush and green.)

It's like a treadmill lawn. Or maybe an assembly line.

Ann doing her "Gladiator" impression.
Are you not entertained?!?!

Kirby Olson said...

I just watched The Man With the Golden Gun. Who's the best Bond? I love them all, but of course it's Sean Connery.

Fred4Pres said...

It is rather Gladiator. Yes I am entertained Charles!

Fred4Pres said...

The best Sean Connery however his when he is parodied on SNL on Jeopardy.

Hey! No floating allowed. Madison is a gravity first zone, unless you are emerging as Butterfly Woman.

Althouse has been floating over that lawn before...

So, does that make Ann Meade's flying carpet?

Drats! edutcher said what I was going to say.

Not to dis Meade, but I too have the best October lawn in 25+ years of being a homeowner.

Has a lot to do with natural rain several times a week.

Something about that animation makes me think of the video for Talking Heads - "And She Was"

Madison is not bound by mere Newtonian physics!

We have our first OWS Darwin Award Nominee, although he was with Occupy San Diego:

ME: Man Who Fell Downtown Did Not Commit Suicide

According to the Medical Examiner’s website, the 42-year-old man was attempting to hang fliers from the outside of a multi-level parking structure at Civic Center Plaza when he fell to his death.

The Medical Examiner’s report contradicts the report filed by the San Diego Police department saying that the man committed suicide and was not a part of the Occupy San Diego protest.

A candlelight vigil was held for the man Monday evening near where members of the Occupy San Diego protest campaign have been staging an open-ended rally since last week.

...

According to reports heard on a police scanner, the victim was found near a flyer or a sign that read, "Important message to intelligent earthlings from your creators." Police would not confirm those reports.

Allow me to 'float' an illustration of my own. This goes out to all those that worship at the altar of big government and are having trouble putting their arms around the current financial situation:

Numbers hard to understand.......

* U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000

Now let's remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget.

* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent this year: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total annual budget cuts: $385

Its the spending, stupid!!!

One of Chip's best. It's like a scene from Stage Coach but with a Althouse and a lawn instead of John Wayne and Monument Valley.

Fred4Pres said...

And without John Wayne in horid shorts! And a man purse. And espadrilles.

Listen, Professor- Just because Steve Jobs said taking acid was a good choice for him does not mean it is a good choice for you.

Actually, maybe it was Chip who was on acid.

Or maybe it's me.

@ Geoffrey Firmin:

I had the exact same thought. IAs soon as I saw that picture I heard David Byrne start up with:
"And she was lying in the grass /
And she could hear the highway breathing..."
But there is some quality of the animation itself that gave me the initial reminiscence.

here's the youtube music video ( http://bit.ly/pu1F6B )

Great song!

Hmmm...(interesting to contrast the revealing of the protagonist of the song with this blog's author.)

I was thinking it was a sexy picture and it reminded me of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl. "Making love in the green green grass, behind the stadium..." Not that I have the hots for Ann (I have the hots for my wife and that is her favorite song), but Ann looks good in that picture. Women look great laying down on a green lawn. And I am sure Meade agrees.

You're welcome.
Thank you for
