My ex-wife's cousin lives in Geneva. Her cousin, though, only gets her hair done in France, just over the border. So when my ex-wife and I arrived in Geneva, we were picked up by her cousin's husband and driven across the border to meet her cousin for lunch at some French country club.

The border was marked by a shack with a bunch of bored looking French soldiers, none of whom were armed. Border control, such as it was, was very cursory: a quick exchange en francais between the ex-wife's cousin's husband (confused yet?) and the border guards.

Stupid American that I am, I joked, in English, "that was so easy. Next time we'll have to sneak over." The guard heard this, and apparently understood it, and didn't like it. I was hauled out of the car, my passport was examined scrupulously.

And then we crossed the border.

Burt Young on his official website. The website has become a literal library of him describing the milestones. His Art Work, Filmography, Biography and photos are the vital resources. He can be browsed at http://burtyoungartandfilm.com/
