"Even though he has opponents in the primary, the party leadership has ordered that only Biden will appear on the primary ballot."

"And if you want to register your discontent with Biden with a write-in vote, forget about it. Under Florida law, if the party approves only one name, there will be no primary ballots at all. The party just called the election for Biden before a single vote has been cast.... In other states, Democratic politicians and lawyers.... are seeking to bar Trump from ballots under a novel theory... that Trump must be taken off the ballots because he gave 'aid and comfort' to an 'insurrection or rebellion.'...  In a recent filing supporting this effort, figures as prominent as media lawyer Floyd Abrams and Berkeley Dean Erwin Chemerinsky have told the Colorado Supreme Court that preventing voters from being able to cast their votes for Trump is just a way of 'fostering democracy.'... Some national polls show Trump as the most popular candidate for the 2024 election... Yet, despite 74 million voters supporting Trump in the last election, these Democrats are insisting that voters should not be allowed to vote for him, in the name of democracy...."

...if this statement seems ridiculous to you- congratulations! Now go back six years and look at all the stuff they did that you fell for...

Yah and I suspect that's the big play this time. If not actually removing Trump from the ballot an all out BLM style 'It is illegal to vote for Trump!' campaign...

rehajm said...

...one more- you should not be surprised you have no control over the candidates you get to vote for. Ask Bernie bros. It has been this way for a long time, on both sides. There was that GOP insider what matter of factly said as much back when - when W was running? The primaries are just a way to get you riled up so come November you'll bother. It works every time...

...and one more one more- the lawfare need not be perfect or 'widespread' as they call it. A couple Hawaiian judges in a couple, two-three kangaroo court swing states and only long enough for standinglachesmoot is all it will take....

AFAIK this is pretty much how the National Socialists of Germany emerged and then morphed into a killing machine. One rationalization too far, one too many cases of saying the ends justifies the means, and the next thing you know you've become your enemy.

The White Ribbon movie presents a super creepy back story on the German culture before WWI, and this suggests the cause of later Nazism. It's a slow moving film. It's in black and white:

this Is, after all.. The DEFINITION of democracy. Want a image of democracy?

Meade, that was exactly the famous quote that came to mind. Writ large the Democrats are saying that they will destroy America itself if that’s what they think is needed to “save” her from the will of the People.

Democrats are doing this in the primary. The attempts to remove Trump under 14th Amendment provisions is to do the same in the general. Yet Democrats call Trump a fraud.

4/9 of the Amici Curiae are Jewish. At least an additional 2 are at best, cultural aliens with regard to the founding fathers in general and the American founding stock.

This is not the sort of lawfare that a healthy and sovereign nation and population tolerates. The 20th century was a mass repudiation of this sort of foreign power (however "legal" it was) from South Africa to Singapore. It is rightfully being opposed now here too, even if most are still uncomfortable pointing to the core issue.

It is ironic that in the backdrop of this, the same machine is demanding Americans write blank checks to Ukraine and Israel, on the premise we must defend their inalienable right for their respective core demographic control of the maximalist versions of their national territory.

We are supposed to be able to distinguish between two foreign groups of Semites and two foreign groups of Slavs without hesitation, while claiming any such concept in the new world is impossible to even comprehend.

I expect that right before whatever cutoff dates there are for ballots next year, several Blue State officials will announce that Trump is barred from the ballot. By the time it makes its way through the courts, the damage will be done. What happens when, say, PA prints off a couple hundred thousand mail-in ballots with Trump not on them and sends them out to voters? Does any court have the guts to tell the state, "No, throw those out"?

Look for the Democrat voters to protest this with riots in the streets.

Haha. Just kidding. Look for the robotic Democrat voters to say nothing. And then troop to the polls and vote for 4 more years of useless wars, inflation, crime, and an massive illegal immigration and an unsecured border. The D's could run Mike Pence for POTUS and still get 45 percent. Because their voters just don't care.

The Democrats are a top-down, tightly run organization. They have an agenda, they want power, and they want to destroy anyone who opposes them. The Republicans meanwhile resemble the old Will Rogers joke: "I belong to no organized political party. I'm a Democrat".

Serious question. What is the difference between the Soviet Union in it's last decade and Washington right now?

Gerontocrats competing to rule the Politboro.

The real power held by factions of faceless bureaucrats engaged in vicious infighting to hold and grow their own empire.

Decisions made based on government numbers that no one believes are real (Bidenomics)

Utterly fanatical apparatchiks determined to jail and destroy dissenters.

A Potemkin economy kept afloat by subsidy's from the sworn enemy.

Personally, I've always thought that the parties should pick their own nominee in a smoke-filled room, but yeah, these are the people who style themselves as the guardians of democracy.

And if you wonder how people are fairing, then look at all the hand-wringing over loneliness. The recommendation is more group identity but Carl Jung saw a different source for loneliness.

“Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible.”
― Carl Gustav Jung

As is said, things happen slowly at first, then all of a sudden.

If the 2024 election is not deemed fully open and above board, well, the FBI is making files on those who oppose the Democrat authoritarian moves.

The German Democrats tried that in the 1920s and we know how that worked out

The Social Democrats were democratic only so long as they were not the ruling party; that is, so long as they still felt themselves not strong enough to suppress their opponents by force. The moment they thought themselves the strongest, they declared themselves— as their writers had always asserted was advisable at this point— for dictatorship. Only when the armed bands of the Rightist parties had inflicted bloody defeats on them did they again become democratic “until further notice.” Their party writers express this by saying: “In the councils of the social democratic parties, the wing which declared for democracy triumphed over the one which championed dictatorship.”

Of course, the only party that may properly be described as democratic is one that under all circumstances— even when it is the strongest and in control— champions democratic institutions.
