"With West Virginia off the Senate chessboard next year, Democrats must win every race they are defending — and depend on President Biden to win the White House..."

".... in order to maintain a majority.... With no competitive race [in West Virginia] in 2024, both parties will have tens of millions of dollars to spend on a second tier of battleground races. Last year, candidates, parties and outside groups spent more than $1.3 billion on 36 Senate races, including $737 million in just five states — Arizona, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — that are also on the ballot again next year. 'I think Wisconsin and Michigan are about to get a bunch of Republican money they weren’t going to get otherwise,' said Brad Todd, a Republican strategist who has worked on Senate races.... There is no top-flight Republican challenging Senator Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin, but the party has been pushing for Eric Hovde, a businessman who ran for Senate in 2012....."

Prediction: Those states with mail in voting will go for the Democrat candidate, usually after a suspicious ballot count.

Extreme? Stereotyping is a hate inducement. We need to ban journolism that proliferates diversity.

Manchin was a traitor to all sides. Thusly, I hope he fucks up dems next year good and proper, for what little it's worth.

Yup. Until I see otherwise I assume the mail in voter fraud is still in place. I would expect same day voting problems in red areas, just like we saw in Maricopa in 2022.

The ability of everyone to pretend the voter fraud isn't an issue when talking about 2024 polls is amazing.

I’m in WV and Manchin had zero chance of winning against Gov Jim Justice. Justice and Baby Dog are absolutely adored in this state and for good reason - Justice is bringing jobs and tremendous economic developing to a state that for years kept industry at arms length to protect coal. Justice is all over the state every day meeting with WVians and he is deeply connected. Manchin was very popular until he sided with Biden on bills that harmed coal and then Biden failed to support Manchin’s pet pipeline project. It’s not that he’s hated - it’s that people don’t trust his judgment any longer.

Justice and Manchin are very good friends and I’ve always assumed one of them would drop out to protect the other. And that’s exactly what happened.

Btw, any article that mentions Justice but doesn’t mention Baby Dog has no clue about what’s going on in WV.

Wonder whether Manchin will be a regular on CNN or on MSNBC? The only good judgment he and Romney have exhibited since 2016 is choosing to avoid getting bounced like Cheney.

Both NE US Senate seats are on the ballot in 2024. The Dems don't even have candidates.

How much of it was donations from Sam Bankman Fried?

Before those on the right breathe a sigh of relief, let’s remember that this is the GOP and although the rank and file want to win, McCornhole and Aunt Lindsay do not. McCornhole is on record several times stating that he would rather be in the minority because, “We don’t have to do anything. We can promise our voters everything and fundraise at the sane time.” So don’t be surprised if the RNC finds a way to throw this race.

Extreme, indeed. First, demos-cracy is aborted in darkness... at the twilight fringe. Second, Americans are anti-slavery (i.e. involuntary exploitation), and anti-arbitrage (e.g. women... womb banks). Six weeks to baby meets granny in legal state. This means that Democrats can still perform human rites for social, clinical, political, criminal, and fair weather progress. That said, empathize with the baby's feelings, lose the phobic speech about "burdens", life deemed unworthy of life, the genocidal ambition, the wicked solution is neither a good nor exclusive choice.

Oh, diversity of individuals, minority of one. Fractional people... persons, really?

Progressive prices, political congruence, conflation of logical domains, labor and environmental arbitrage, etc.

The reason West Virginia is off the chessboard is because Schumer and Biden stabbed Manchin in the back.

I doubt there is mention of that in the article.

Like I said before, who cares? IF the R's control the Senate, McConnell or his hand picked successor won't do anything except sabotage Trump or help a re-elected Biden. The Republicans in the Senate need at least a 54 seat majority to offet Lisa Murky, Collins, and 2-3 other RINO's who "Reach accross the Aisle".

And even if they had 54 seats they'd still be helping the Democrats push for an unsecured border, Amnesty, forever war, social liberalism, foreign aid, bad trade deals, and massive spending.

They've done nothing to stop Biden, and if Biden is re-elected they still won't do anything.

I think our hostess would be a perfect replacement for Tammy.

Positive: Higher character. More accomplished professionally. Has worked in the private sector.

Negative: Too thoughtful and objective for Senate peers. Would make moderation of comments take too long. Ann is not a lesbian.

In a free market economy, it wouldn't be necessary to buy politicians.

Trump will win the Republican primary. But he will lose the general election to Biden, because Biden will say that he doesn't have to debate Trump because Trump was such a coward that he wouldn't even debate his Republican primary opponents. Trump and all of his supporters will, once again, after Trump loses again, claim voter fraud, and that Trump actually won, which the Courts will once again deny. So we will be back to exactly where we are today. Thank you all of you Always Trumpers. Then America dies a slow death. Good night.

I don't know that Manchin ever did anything illegal like Brandon but he is a corrupt grifter.

On the other hand, his Epipen grift was such a beauty to behold that it is hard not to stand in awe of him.

His wife as head of some education organization, lobbied him to make the pen (at $600/pop for 2, 2 year life) mandatory in every school receiving federal funds. The FDA refused to allow anyone but Mylan to make or sell it in the US. Manchin's daughter, on questionable qualifications became CEO (president?) of Mylan and raked in dozens of millions in salary and bonus.

For comparison, at the time you could buy 2 pre-filled syringes in Walgreens for about $20 including a carrying case.

I feel sorry for WVU.

And yet over 90% (96 IIRC) of the candidates that PEDJT did endorse in 2022 won their general elections.

Even Obama could not get near that.

It sounds like you are trying to gaslight us. I just don't know with you whether it is misinformation due to ignorance or disinformation due to dishonesty.

Complete agreement from me on voter fraud.

Nothing has been fixed.

Just look at the confidence Biden and his handlers have of his chances.

Ah yes, the brilliant GOP (and Trump) strategy of running LOSERS, expecting a different outcome. Let's see if Arizona likewise pisses away a winnable Senate seat by doing the same.

Maybe I haven't read this carefully enough, but isn't there now pretty convincing (not necessarily legally convincing, but for the fair minded person) evidence that Trump won Georgia in 2020?
